But I'll be buying HD and watching all weekend anyway. What's my discount as a gold member again? $2 also the list of players looks sick to me It has basically all the support cast for a great tournament but a lack of top 10 in the world level players. But I would have loved to have seen MKP, DRG, MMA, Symbol, MC, Parting, Squirtle etc.. coming out. Well, taeja and Stephano are there, both of whom are stronger than several of the players on your list based on (recent) results. DRG, MKP and MC are the best three players in the world right now imo. Stephano belongs in the top ten and maybe Taeja does (although the thing with Taeja is he never makes the final of anything big). Yeah, I pretty much agree. I would have loved to have seen them at the Arena, symbol also. He's the ultimate haven't-won-anything-yet-but-will-soon player.

Idra is the most popular SC2 player in the forgein scene. Stephano is a great player, and currently better than idra-- but doens't have the history idra does. Also Idra has a more marketable personality, with his BM and whatnot.

Btw just a heads up every time Stephano wins a major tournament he allways crash and burn in the next! He won IPL 3, did horrible at MLG. He won ESWC, did horrible at Dreamhack. He won IPL 4 UK qualifier, did horrible at Dreamhack. He won lonestar clash and did horrible at MLG.
It seems to be a theme with Stephano lets see if it happend again:D

How do you figure? It's hard to come by any measurement, but stephano consistently has more viewers of the two (and anyone) when he streams.
By the same token Idra has more than double the twitter followers and some five times more posts/views in his fan club.
Not to mention this is an American event and no doubt that in America Idra is the biggest name by some way.
Perhaps Stephano is more popular amongst the more hardcore fan (the kind who watch streams in the middle of the day) but amongst the casual viewer base who watch only the major events Idra is still King.

Idra is nothing more than a shadow of his former self. The Lineup is not the absolute top notch lineup we had at the former arenas, but it's still very strong and will provide quite a lot of entertainment. With Hero, Taeja, Violet, Stephano we have still very top players. And I think it's a good opportunity for players like TOP to make an impressive comeback!
Idra's skill level isn't the point.
Idra is still the more popular player in the scene. Idra is the only player who has a large chunk of viewers who literally only care about Sc2 when Idra is playing. No other player has that and yet Idra seems to have thousands of these fans.

Ganzi's just his usual unpredictable self. Capable of losing to and beating anyone.

Exactly right. Idra is SC2 for many people. When he retires it will be a sad day for Esports.

Oh man, didn't look at the casters line-up before.. but damn that's like one of the best once I can imagine.

Stephano must be feeling good since yesterday he was laddering NA and was playing his off race (P) instead of Z. Hope he isn't over confident. If he loses i'ma blame it on him laddering as protoss instead of practing his real race for tounry prep. (Idra beat him BTW on ladder yesterday which is how I know about the game).

I dont think its fair to Puma. He had to play MC who is on a huge terror l8tly. No shame losing to MC. He did qualify to the final and thats an achievement in itself
