What is Evo 2012? Fighting games. fighting games as in FPS? No.

In what way is an SC2 event going to copy that atmosphere...fighting game rounds last a minute at most and there are always "finishing moments" to get excited about. Starcraft matches last around 10-15 minutes and the victories generally take place over extended periods of time. People do cheer and all that---compare it to basketball, people don't go insane when every shot is made (/any minor victory for a player to get a lead) but there is sometimes excitement for things like the game-winning shot. well put

Because that's the one of the few easily quantifiable metrics, whereas general "good mechanics" is more subjective. I guess you could also count supply blocks and queen energy somehow, but no one has that data. It's a quantifiable metric that doesn't mean anything.

There have been so many awesome moments watching lots of great events for me. Take your crappy attitude and go watch Evo. This crowd is far louder than it appears and nothing is happening.. they just did the Day9 dance between games... BAD SC2! i guess i'm just not cut out to be a politically correct nerdy starcraft fan.. i've slowly started to realize that what this community thinks of as funny and exciting are way different than what i think, so yeah i guess i will have to stop watching. it's a shame cuz i really like sc2 but i just cant stand the current production standards/values I find it funny that you call people nerdy like it is a bad thing. YOU ARE A NERD. You are posting on Sc2 forums. You aren't any different than the rest of the people here.

Also I have to say while the hype was awesome at EVO the crowd was pretty rude during the KoF finals they were chanting curse words and slanders at the korean player.

GET THE FUCK OUT
he puts in so much effort and is how good he is because of how hard he trains.
This guy isnt hyping ret, he is trying to discredit his achievements. I do not get why you see that as a discredit of Ret. An achievement is an achievement regardless if you work hard for it or not. I would say the achievement is even greater if you do not work hard, as that just shows your brilliance and natural talent for the game. Besides Ret is known for not spending that much time at the game and still doing amasing. Natural talent is not an achievement and will never be, you know those guys with autistic spectrums like Magnus Carlsen that were born geniuses? They don't deserve any praise, at all, they didn't earn it.

What's up with the regular casters of the NASL season? Why not give these guys a chance at a big event? Why did they bring in so many other big name casters?
I realise many people might say that they might not be up to the task but IDK.
