It's mostly to keep the Zerg on guard. The timings for a 1gate expand are very different from that of an FFE, especially when it comes to Protoss tech. Like that Stargate, for example. 1gate expand is definitely not safe if your opponent is expecting you to do it (like an FFE is), but it's good to mix in every so often. | ||
