We'd like to apologize for all of the inconveniences for our online viewers throughout today's broadcast. Part of the reason for delays between games was due to trying to find the source of the hissing noise in the background of our stream. Throughout the day, we switched out headsets, computers, cables, and even an entire tricaster system. In the end, we finally discovered the malfunctioning component: a power strip on stage providing power for the casting computer and their headsets. The problem has been corrected and we thank you for your patience. We hope you will enjoy the rest of IPL Face Off and stick with us for the IPTL debut this week.

But seriously though, the quality of the matches overshadowed what went wrong in the production. For me that is.

Wanted to say thank you, the games were amazing and I personally didn't mind the production hiccups that much (especially since VODs are available immediately after the event)! Looking forward to IPL4 and the next incarnation of your team league!

Would you consider this event a success based on viewership, live audience, etc? There were a lot of production issues, not going to lie, but I do appreciate that IPL was willing to host the first major teamleague LAN that wasn't the GSTL. Great step towards promoting teamleagues. Taeja also deserves some serious overtime payment from Liquid. Amazing performance, but alas the rest of Liquid couldn't give him that crucial backup in the second set. :\

Same here, I found myself watching for hours more than I normally would have just because I knew the games were going to be quality

Not only that, but the intro/outro and setting were poorly managed. Its awkwardness reminded me of the very early days... It's a bit sad to see this happening after IPL3, but I suppose we get what we are worth now that LoL is the primary effort.

It couldn't hurt to find something to do in the downtime next time however. Such as getting interviews from team captains, replay analysis, talking about the next game, ect.

For me that is. the taeja story line saved an otherwise terrible event that only avoided being forgettable because it was just so bad. they should pay taeja for saving their asses.

That said, I think this double-elimination-format has a neat basic idea, but the advantage to the winner of the winners bracket is kind of too much considering all the teams the losers have to fight through to get back to the finals. Also as a viewer it's kind of waaaay too long of a final - like 9 hours, really? Imagine the heroic story-line with Taeja all-killing IM in the final bo9 and crowning TeamLiquid a champion and we had a "oh no another bo9.... :-( moment", with Taeja finally falling, tired and desperate to end the series, when he went into the trap of Seed's base. EDIT: Just saw, that IPL is changing the format to single elimination playoffs next season! Probs for this adjustment ![]() To be fair IM has more depth in their team (even without MVP and MC at the event), and hopefully we will see the TL-Players improve more, so TeamLiquid has not only one trump card to play at a time. Thanks for the teams for epic matches and hopefully better production by IPL next time! ![]()
