Blink first builds seem a lot stronger and overall better than what Ace's doing, it only makes sense to get charge first if you are gonna do some chargealot/archon allin which Ace should've done on Ohana.
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie

yea but u know not making any mistake at all is a legit way to play, and thats what ryung did, ofc hes gonna stomp if his opponents cant do that

Well, he did raise a good point, Ace and Leenock felt like the played way too passive for a long stretches of the game and they never really pressured Ryung. Its easy to not make mistakes when you aren't pressured, so yes it does remain to be seen if Ryung can handle the heat. But at least today Ryung was definitely the better player.

And I stand corrected, a poster a couple of pages back reminded me that Slayers still had 2 players in Code S this season, Yughio and Ryung, too bad only one is left now.

wow, thread got negative as hell all the sudden:

tasteless is doing pretty well tonight

ryung played very well

ACE wasn't being called terrible when he owned Taeja

granted niether of Ryungs opponents played super well, but its a little hard to play super well when you're getting picked apart. people never take that into account: a lot of times you can affect your opponents level of playing with your own.

Well to be fair Ryung was always know as a TvT monster, and MVP we thought was slumping and about to exit the GSL, so that wasn't really a surprising result. Today was more of a shocker than anything else.

Mvp played really bad their first series, then collected himself for their second one.

Seems to me Ace did the exact same strat every game vs Taeja, (HT in a warp prism, warping in zealots at expansions, with a transition into colossus), and Ryung just prepared for that and rolled him. In game 1 he started the extra starports and vikings before he even saw the colossus.

It's kinda standard for Protosses not named Squirtle and Genius to go chargelot-archon-templar into Colossus transition, these days though.

True. If you prepare for the wrong one as terran though you are dead.

And being able to counter the zealot harrass for basically nothing meant that Ace's ball was a lot smaller, and he had less to buffer his HT's, which lead to quite a few storms on small bunches of bio units stimming forward to snipe them.

no the leenock games were really intense on multitasking, and it was leenock trademark style too. like really, u should try to play vs really fast zerg players who abuse counter attack/muta ling and banemines trap, or just managing multiples bio army on the map, it is so easy to fuck up. the ace games were also really good multitasking, and playing vs really aggressive protoss with wp drop templar mass lots counter is really hard too

he actually played pretty well. people here are just expecting perfect play, there is a difference between not playing perfectly and not playing well.

Ryung's performance today reminds me of Supernova's performance last season.

Remember when Supernova roflstomped Genius in the group stages in a late-game TvP with insane multitasking? Yeah, sure Genius played really bad but at the end of the day, Supernova played really really well, and people shouldn't be discounting Ryung's performances. He has looked like the best Terran in Code S so far, and to be honest, given the recent state of the metagame, I was kinda losing interest in GSL, but Ryung made me really happy today with his two wins.

I know, but apart from that, for large stretches of the game Leenock was just running around the army of Ryung and not really threatening to do anything, I felt that a lot of times he was just letting Ryung get ahead. Like, when Ryung sniped Leenock's bottom 4th for the first time, I felt like if Leenock had split is army into two, and attacked from two flanks, one being Ryung's exit, he could have just crushed Ryung's army by backing it against a wall with Ultra's and Fungals.
