Dude how can you say that? Do you even know what an open tournament means? An open tournament should work like MLG where the professionals are seeded (based on previous results in qualifiers etc..) and the diamond league players play off camera for a chance to play with the professionals later on if they win enough games. The Dreamhack format is stupid, which is even more funny as they had it right last year when they did seed to pro's and let the randoms play their own tournament with the top two (Osho and Sarens in this case) getting a spot in the main tournament. I can't believe someone actually likes the MLG format more than Dreamhack's.
Last year's Dreamhack format from Dreamhack Winter was perfect.
This years is the worst format currently in use in any professional tournament.

This format is horrendous

Dude, MLG is not an Open tournament.
Besides, I like the DreamHack format as it rewards skill and not past achievements/already having a big name. If the pros deserve to advance they will win the first few rounds anyways.

MLG has an open tournament.
It doesn't waste an entire day or the tournament making Stephano play gold league players on stream.

No, it's not. Giving certain players an unfair advantage over other players is something no tournament should do. Open bracket, meaningless poolplay, double elimination and extended series is the worst format currently in use.

I get it, you're Swedish. Therefore Dreamhack can do no wrong. But clearly if you take off your blue and yellow hat for just a second you can see that it's retarded to make professional players play total scrubs who have zero chance at all to win the series for AN ENTIRE DAY of the tournament.

Well i kinda like this setup, it's a opportunity to see some unknowns and everyone (pro's and amateurs) starts equal at the tournament. And over 30k viewers on 2 streams might proof that there are people who do want to watch stages like this, so why not?

I predict Stephano going 2-0 with his 12 minute roach rush each game lol.

I think its fun seeing what random people looks like when playing against pros. And I dont think the pros mind either. Also, it can be a great way to find new talent.

Unknowns is fine. It's how we got all sorts of players who are now mainstays in the scene like Stephano himself.
But if you're not high masters you should not be in the main tournament playing on stream.

This format also gives a chance for any breakout players to shine, if they are good enough..
