Good luck Naniwa. Please take it with 2 quick 2-0s.

There's something I wanted to say about Naniwa and his place in code S. I'm sorry that this has to be my first post but I usually only lurk. I didn't know where to post it but here.
First of all, I don't have anything against him. I enjoy seeing him play very much, what I don't like is how he got where he is.
I hope this is ok to say, I am not blindly hating, this is more like honest criticism.

He was invited to code S because of his performance in MLG providence (his probe rush simply delayed the invitation by a month or two)

He was seeded first or second in MLG providence,in the bracket mostly because of the MLG points he got when he won MLG Dallas 14 months ago.
In Providence he only had to play 5 games because of this seeding. He then went 3-2 (and 7-6 in maps), and placed second behind Leenock.

The only thing he truly achieved is MLG Dallas 2011. But at the time there were no Koreans or even code A level players. (the best one he defeated were Pokebunny, TriMaster, Vibe, Drewbie, Machine or Kiwikaki..)
He also recently won 4 bo3s in code S ? Some people say that it's the proof of his skill. I disagree. Players are code S because they qualified from code B to code A, and from code A to code S, this requires a crazy win streak.

Also, when I look at the list of the event he played in since Dallas, I see only invitationals, and MLG where he got in via seeding. His GSL winrate is 33%.

I love starcraft and I love the competition, this is why I find this ridiculous. This is supposed to be a competition, Naniwa got there by bypassing everything, he should not be competing in code S. Sorry for the negativity, I also root for foreigners, but I root for them to win the games, not the system.

I agree, I feel that he is way too over hyped.

Will be interesting to see how he does this time and good luck to him. I personally feel that NesTea and Creator goes to Ro. 16.

He got to Ro8 alone, like every other player. Was he seeded ? Yes he was ? What happened to the other seeded player ? He fell to Code A. NaNiwa deserves his place in Code S right now. And nobody should ever be allowed to say otherwise.

I think this is more of a case where the end justify the mean. Naniwa may or may not deserve the seed, but he did perform once he got there, which is what mattered in the end. There are two Seed spot for Code S, which can not be obtained in any other way. This was built in in the new format, so it is not a case where they are taking spot away from deserving players. It is up to GOM to decide to how to use these two spots, and Naniwa was one of their better choices.

It's ok Naniwa himself has said multiple times he agrees with you but he's also not going to refuse a seed if they offer him one, cause it's his job

His PvP isn't his best though. Naniwa has sick PvP. I think if he can win another set from NesTea or STC, he'll advance.

Anything here specific to Naniwa is irrelevant. What you're upset about is seeding. It has been discussed to death, and it isn't going away since no foreigners ever qualify through code A legitimately and the Gom wants the foreigner crowd.

Edit: Go Creator and Naniwa!
Life is too short to take it seriously.

This is simply not true.
There are both winners and finalists from code S that got their place through seeds, they didn't deserve it?
Of course they did. Maybe more so then people people getting into code S due to luck of the draw in code B/code A.
If you get a seed into code S and do well it validates the seed IMO.
If you're not getting better faster than everybody else, you're getting worse.

I hope Creator and Nestea advance but Nestea has looked pretty bad (relatively of course) lately in both competition and when he streams. StC seems like a nice guy too though.

Nestea + Creator/TheStC fighting! Nestea cause Nestea, and Creator because he's good/TheStC because we need Terrans. Naniwa won't surprise me if he advances, but I'd rather have Nestea than him.
