I would expect Stephano to beat Parting, Parting is nothing special in PvZ, I'm not sure he'd even make my top 10 of PvZers and definitely not top 5 where as Stephano is second to only DRG in ZvP.

With the Squirtle games it's a 3rd place playoff so I don't know how much either player really cared. Those games are always a bit of a wash out.

Pretty sure Squirtle is not going to throw away $3000. That is the difference between 3rd and 4th place prize-money.

Awesome to see MC taking this and tbh it was the only thing that was really awesome about this tournament.
I might expected to much but it didn't impress me. The stage looked messy and the production was pretty bad with a lot of sound problems, lag and never, never switch sources on a stream! What the hell were they thinking with that?

That crane camera thingy is nice but dont put it in the center of the crowd, i saw footage where that thing is blocking the screens on the stage for minutes and you cant catch a nice total view of the crowd when you put in the center (your to close to the audience in most shots anyway).

And what a anti climax when MC walked out of the booth after winning... stop f*cking talking guys and play some music or some.
Props to the guy in the audience who came up to MC and gave him a high-five cause damn that looked awkward, MC standing there alone while the commentators (who did a great job casting and i kinda like the outfits, it made them look like a real team) were rambling on in the background. That was horrible.

Red Bull does a few things good, i liked the meet and greet event and the stats on the website with the replays but it didn't blow my mind. Oh and please stop with the nonsense pre-game interviews and enable the vod function on ALL! streams.

He's won $42k from Sc2 before any salary he might get from Startale (idk if they pay any salaries or not) and as he lives in a team house he has no outgoings. So the 2k post tax her would have gotten from this isn't exactly a massive deal to him, and even less to Stephano.

He's not going to go full Naniwa and probe rush, but no one can pretend Squirtle and Stephano cared as much about winning that as they did their semi final games.

Dude, 3rd place is 5.5k$ while 4th place is 2.5k$

Stephano has shown he cares more about sleep than that amount of money. What 3k means to you is not what it means to Sc2 players who've made a lot of money from this game.

There's not one person in sc2 who wouldn't "bother" to play his best for an hour to claim 2k. That's just ridiculous. That's two months of work in KR ._.

You're funny. Because Stephano has done exactly that more than once.

Idra has almost forfeited large sums of money because he's tired.

ah, i feel if stephano took the last map against MC nothing would have stopped him from winning the tourney, gotta hand it to MC though, he played amazing.
Also didnt expect stephano to take down the gsl finalist + semifinalist protosses that easily, i guess MC is the only challenge for him in that matchup.
Nice to see bomber playing good again though =)

Sounds to me like you are making excuses for Squirtle or trying to discredit Stephano for beating Squirtle quite comfortably.
Maybe you are just embarrassed for claiming earlier this weekend that Stephano does not stomp Korean Protoss players? We all make bad predictions from time-to-time. It happens.

I am curious to know what your Top 10 ranking for PvZ players and where Parting places in it. Can you please share it?

My loose order:

1. MC
2. Hero
3. Squirtle
4. Oz
5. Genius
6. JYP
7. Puzzle
8. Parting
9. Crank
10. Creator

Stephano doesn't stomp Korean Protoss. He has wins vs some (Parting/Squirtle) and loses vs some (MC, Hero, Inori).

Stomping is what MMA does to Zerg i.e he's a clear favourite vs every Zerg in the world.

Stephano has a clear losing record vs MC which is not something you get from someone who stomps a certain race.

I make considerably more than that per year, and I would still try my ass off if it meant $3000, even a taxable $3000. I know people who make six figure salaries, and they would still kick themselves if they slacked off and lost out on a taxable $3000. Do you know anything about how money works?

Why do people always feel the need to discredit somebody's results?

He dominated every korean protoss player he meet except MC? Are you insane? I actually think Stephano just proved this tournament he proberly got the best ZvP in the world..

Just this weekend 7-4 vs the 3 best protoss in the world and less then a week ago he dominated MC in MLG 2-0 so in 1 week he are 9-4 vs the 3 best protoss players in the world. Its allmost mindblowing considering how much protoss players has dominated korean zergs.

He doesn't dominate Hero. Hero has beaten him before and he hasn't played the majority of that list.

DRG is better at ZvP than Stephano.

DRG has played and beaten basically everyone on that list. He has a winning record against all of them

Stephano hasn't even played most of that list and has a losing record vs MC and an even record vs Hero.

He's won $42k from Sc2 before any salary he might get from Startale (idk if they pay any salaries or not) and as he lives in a team house he has no outgoings. So the 2k post tax her would have gotten from this isn't exactly a massive deal to him, and even less to Stephano.

Hero has only beat Stephano online when Stephano just got back from vacation really you gonna use online result now? Stephano beat Hero at a lan offline (blizzard cup) where it matters.

And DRG are better then Stephano in ZvP? says who? Stats tell otherwice.

So basically Stephano is better than Hero because he won a best of 1 in December 2011?

DRG has a winning record vs every Protoss out there.

Stephano has a losing record to MC, a losing record to Naniwa, an equal record with Hero and hasn't even played most of the best PvZers in the world.

Stephano is really good at ZvP, the second best in the world but DRG is more proven and better. DRG has consistantly beaten the biggest Protoss players on the biggest stages (GSL). Stephano has a very good record against Protoss but nothing like the record of DRG and pads his stats with a lot of wins vs poor foreign Protoss he way outclasses.

DRG has barely even dropped a game to foreign Protoss players.
