dont fool yourself, Squirtle has best PvP right now, he owned MC, Oz etc...
Just another step to the throne.

HerO and Squirtle are both in boss mode lately, it's got little to do with balance. Dude... Hero and Squirtle are good, but look at the whole picture of this season of Code S : - Ro32: 7/10 protoss make it through vs. 7/15 for terran - Ro16: 5/7 protoss vs. 3/7 terran with a protoss taking first place in all groups - Ro8: all protoss win except Naniwa who played against the most successful player in the history of sc2 and GSL. That doesn't mean all these protoss players are unskilled or don't deserve, but it's being blind to affirm there is not a balance problem. (And I don't even mention the misery that is zerg right now) Then explain to me this: Edit: Whoops, wrong stat. Let's try this again. http://www.gomtv.net/records/index.gom?searchType=3&race=T&vsrace=P&season=2012&leaguetype=20&leagueid=27062&gamever=0&mapid=0 I'm (obviously) talking about the current state of the game. What happened with different patches and different metagames is entirely irrelevant to consider current balance. The recent Code S seasons, on the other end, are THE most relevant data. Yeah, man. The updated stats are THIS season of the GSL. The set score is pretty even, and it wouldn't be if it wasn't for the Code A matches (which I consider less relevant than code S) Also, watch for season 1 : 60% set wins for Protoss vs T http://www.gomtv.net/records/index.gom?searchType=3&race=P&vsrace=T&season=2012&leaguetype=20&leagueid=27060&gamever=1.4.3&mapid=0So, please... Why should Code A be less relevant than Code S, though? I mean, I agree that it's a bit less relevant, but it's still the GSL. I fail to see what the problem is if there are about 6-7 tip-top Protoss players looking extremely strong while a ton of weaker Tosses fall in Code A, which is, I might add, still a ridiculously high-level tournament. Oh, and you might want to take a closer look at what you linked before you talk about stats. I'll let you figure out your mistake. Here's a big hint http://www.gomtv.net/records/index.gom?searchType=3&race=P&vsrace=T&season=2012&leaguetype=20&leagueid=27060&gamever=1.4.2&mapid=0
Check out the maps on your own stats. Top 3 for Terran are: Calm before the storm 4-0 Crossfire 7-2 TDA 2-1
Top 3 for Protoss are Daybreak 72.2%( 13 W / 5 L ) Metropolis 66.7%( 6 W / 3 L ) ESV_Cloud Kingdom 57.1%( 4 W / 3 L )
You can see all the Terran favored maps are phased out meaning those are legacy wins. They don't really win like that anymore.

MVP > Naniwa: Bit-by-bit roflstomp Parting > Oz: Roflstomp Hero > Supernova: Roflstomp Squirtle > Taeja: Roflstomp
Can this possibly be the worst RO8 ever?

PvP is a matchup, not a segment of the game. -_-
What is Squirtle specifically better at, skill wise?

Actually squirtle was able to rebuild production faster than taeja because taeja was supply blocked for like five minutes.

Think we're going to see a PvP finals. Happy for the protosses out there, they deserve it! Only matchup we haven't seen yet so going to be cool. Just hope it isn't going to be the same story all over again next season from a Zergs PoV >_>

Ahhh T_T
Shame the third game had to go to a base trade before the game became 'interesting'... quite boring games today. I hope Blizzard can do something in Heart of the Swarm to make Protoss more watchable and exciting for the spectators.

Your posts are hilarious to read though, love seeing people post about something they are absolutely clueless of. Keep it up!

If he'd just played it out somewhat normally and macro'd up he'd have been fine. Squirtle was the one who should have been on a clock, but Taeja was giving him defenders advantage.
I think he just didn't realise he was actually ahead until it was too late.

I want Parting to win the whole thing but I don't want a PvP final Looks like i'm screwed.

Lol taeja looks like he didnt even want to win with his reaction. he'd rather be done with this season
I wonder what the practice win rate was for hero/taeja... Maybe Taeja lost a lot to HerO in practice and was expecting this. Of course, he still tried his best. But he kind of knew it was coming if the Protoss didn't make a mistake. I think it goes back to what DRG was saying "If the protoss plays well and doesn't make any major mistakes, it is also impossible to beat them."

so, PartinG - Squirtle finals? Could be worse even if its PvP.
I would put money on PartinG

Timing attacks and better understanding of the match-up. Squirtle recently crushed people like MC,Oz and etc.

If we end up with a PvP finals it will be the death of GOM. The only good that could come from it is hopefully blizzard will get their act together and stop needlessly buffing them already.
