France is way too proud of their language from a cultural standpoint. Television is all in french, books are all in french. If english word start to be use, older people are piss about it, say french language is being injured and stuff. School teach us english very badly, students ain't interessed in it. So yeah.. It's known France is the worse country for learning foreign languages.  | ||

It was really exciting, and really close, but if you take the games on their own I think they weren't necessarily the highest level stuff we see. I'd say in most games at least 1 player was being uncharacteristically sloppy. | ||

Due to the history between France and UK, french schools didn't teach english by default (you could learn it if you wanted but you didn't _have_ to) for a long time, don't know if that changed by now. In germany and many other countries, everyone has to learn english at school. | ||

English just isn't used enough compared to the North and North-East so the knowledge of the language is pretty limited. | ||
