Maps are being played out of order?
Ah I see, so each match is a bo3?

What versions of the maps are the games being played on? That was an old version of Bel'Shir, wasn't it?
Kraznaya : yes bo3 for all ! And in case of tie, it will have an ace match. scintillia : it was GSL version.
Go Scarlett and team Eclypsia!
This needs more viewers, great games and great games coming ahead.
It was cool to finally see Breek play. I've been curious about his playstyle for quite a while now.
why is xnf in the map pool -_--
Shame i missed the first match, i watch breeks stream from time to time.
Go Type!
Ippo : VOD will be available if you want to watch it !

Strea is good but it looks like the casters are so sad
What on earth is that map pool?
hmmm - I don't know who to cheer for... both teams got some players I realy like. A bit more enthusiasm by the two casters would be great. They sound a bit like they've been woken up in the middle of the night to cast the games.

KenZy 1 - 0 ReaL after a beautiful macro game with Broodlords, Mothership !
Second game is coming.

A lot of work on perspective for the english casting which is right now very approximative. As much as I appreciate Foxy willingness to try and prove herself, the road ahead is going to be tough. There is also sound issues (too low) with that stream.
French cast is OK. Nothing bad.
As Diamond said, the map pool is bad : Metalopolis, Tal'Darim Altar and Xel'Naga Fortress have to be removed. Daybreak, Terminus, Crossfire are old slightly outdated maps and could be replaced too.
The tournament admin told me the map pool will be changed for the next round.

Don't you mean Dual Sight instead of Daybreak? Because I would agree with you if you switched those two up.
Happens to me al the time as well, those two names are way to similar :/

Wow, Kenzy's brother is Guillaume Wafo-Tapa, the Magic: The Gathering legend.
Though Kenzy wasted way too many nydus worms in that game initially that was a devastating counterattack with them during the main engagement.
Is there no sound on the main stream? I don't hear anything right now.
Only tuning in for Scarlett
Bit disappointed by ReaL, but KenZy played great!
They're between games atm. Scarlett is up next.

Scarlett's debut... got to be a lot of pressure for this

Stream is very very quiet.
I wish I could understand what the casters are saying, but whatever.
these casters are terrible :\ Extremely monotone voices, no excitement, don't really seem to have any knowledge. A lot of "I'm not sure..." "I think..." "I thought..." "Maybe..."
Very hard to listen to. Gonna watch muted.

Hey, thanks for your feedback, we're trying to get the sound to be louder! Sorry if the cast doesn't meet your expectations this time, things will go far smoother for the next ones. Keep giving us feedback, it's always appreciated

You got this homie. Youll make an impact either way.

All in all, the person who choose the maps had little knowledge of how a map is played out and how to make a map pool. That's a thing they have to work on.

You need a different mic too, there's a lot of weird reverb and way too much background noise.
Yeah, the audio for casters needs to be cranked up, its incredibly quiet, I don't think its a case of the casters speaking too quietly.
GO Scarlett!
ya the casters are super quiet, and there is no game sound

The insignia at the top is very out of place.

Some boss micro by scarlett
omg Scarlett is so good. Her micro is amazing
On April 20 2012 06:22 Zzoram wrote: ya the casters are super quiet, and there is no game sound Seems like a restream from the french stream. Would assume technical difficulties.

PhoeNix is apparently a Korean, formerly PhoeNixWeRRa, he played a bit in the GSL Opens then started playing EU stuff only.
Yes it's a restream because the game is played on NA for technical reasons for Scarlett.
PhoeNix is a Korean player, living in the Gaming House of Type in Düsseldorf.

Not the best casters, but I think they have a good foundation. I will watch the future casts for sure.
That ling micro was good. Going only lings vs ling/bane and winning is pretty hard.
theyre making phoenix play on NA so their newest fancy acquisition can win her zvz.......

Why not alternate servers?

Alternating servers is a pain -- every player has to have multiple accounts. But it's definitely the most fair if you can manage it.
Is lag in cross server play not equal for both players?
See Scarlett? ZvZ so ezpz :D
On April 20 2012 06:35 Zzoram wrote: Is lag in cross server play not equal for both players?
Well, if they are playing at NA, Scarlett is at NA and Phoenix is at EU, I would assume, that he has much worse conditions.
First time I've actually seen Scarlett play, but she made that look easy against an obviously very good opponent. Good games.
I had unfair advantage because of he was playing from EU... I should have been but I got assigned to play without them making sure I had EU client (and it would have taken 18 hours to download). Was looking into relocalizer and then they said Phoenix will play on NA server. (I hope it was by his choice/agreement)
Should have used a different Eclypsia player instead I think

I always thought Battle.net was designed to make both players get lag if one player is lagging. I guess it's still worse for one player if the problem is cross server.

It is fine to point out the discrepancy. Your tone is a little childish though.
Good guy phoenix apparently graciously decided to play on the NA server to not hold up the match, so props to him.
EDIT: added phoenix comment
Ouch poor Phoenix. That was such a beatdown. So yeah, Scarlett is like good.
Pretty nice casting too, especially considering english wasn't the casters native language (they casted perfectly fluent in it though). They seemed to keep a good track of what was going on as well.

Not your fault. I'm sure next time you will have the EU version so you can do alternating servers.

Sucks for Phoenix but didn't your team have to agree to that?

Playing in EU from NA is nothing like playing in KR server from EU OR NA. Speaking from personal experience (playing in EU from NA), the lag is almost negligible.
Yes, EU on NA is not that bad at all, very unlikely to have influenced the outcome in any way.
Well done, Eclypsia. A bit surprised that Welmu didn't win as I see him as the strongest player in their lineup for today (have not seen that much from Scarlett but maybe she's #1 now?). Would also have been fun to watch the mighty desRow.
To english casters: Try to relax and have fun with the games. It sounds way too stiff and dull (especially the guy).
Seems to me as if cross server lag EU->NA is very depandable on where in EU you are. I guess it can be anything from perfectly smooth to noticable.
I'll take whatever chance I can get to see some new faces and a shooting star like Scarlett play though. So I'm kinda happy they went with it, despite the cross server trouble.

AFAIK it has good and bad days and also depends on the region, the EU player is in. For example, I hear often, that Ukraine-NA is as bad or even worse as KR-NA. However, the Type-house should have good internet. But you can´t simply neglect the fact, that it was played cross server and that that could have influenced Phoenix. At shoutcraft-invitational 3 for example they switched Server in the finals and dde won all NA games, whereas Socke won all EU-ones.

Don't know about latency but Socke won game 5 and 6 and losers pick can also have something to do with the back and forth winnings (if they did that).

AFAIK they switched server there, I think Socke mentioned it on Szenecast. But it was a long time ago, I can obviously be wrong.

Yeah, if you watched Fnatics newest interview with Nightend, he says the lag he gets from KR to NA now is much easier to handle than the lag he got from Romania to NA and the Koreans should quit their bitchin'. :D
I don't know, I don't have personal experience, but I think it greatly depends on where you're located, but I guess it can sometimes also be completely random.

Yes they switched servers but I meant that loser picks the map, and that that would also be a factor. Maybe a bigger one than the putative latency. Map plus home region makes a strong combo either way. ^^
