Tune in this Sunday at 6pm EST for the first Prize Fight, presented by BIC® Flex4® Razors!! Watch as some of the best Starcraft 2 players in the business go head-to-head in our new showmatch series. This week's episode will be casted by itmeJP and Wolf so get ready for two incredible matches.
Our first match features Sweden's best Terran, Marcus "mouz.ThorZaIN" Eklöf, going up against North American Zerg and Team Liquid's very own Shawn "Sheth" Simon. The last time these two met Thorzain was victorious so Sheth will have a lot to prove going in. Regardless, it should be an incredible Terran vs. Zerg with $250 up for grabs!
The second match of the night features $750 on the line and two of the best players in Starcraft 2: MarineKing and Oz. MarineKing, the perennial runner up turned consecutive first place finisher, will be showing everyone once again just how good his Terran vs. Protoss really is. Oz, potentially the best Protoss in the world at the moment, will have a lot to prove coming into this match. He is down 2-6 historically vs. MarineKing and comes into this match right after MarineKing's dominating tear through the MLG Winter Season.

$250 on the line for the undercard, $750 on the line for the main event.

Really like how all these tourneys are starting to do the show matches more i.e NASL with sunday showmatch, IPL fight club, and now MLG. Best of luck, both look like great games.
This should be great, in the Winter Qualifier and FXOpen invititational they both went 2-1 with MKP winning.. didn't catch those though, so should be great.

I dont think marineking, oz, or thorzain need razers =P

Nah. I have it from reliable sources (or my imagination) that once TLO accrues enough beard points the matchups are:
Undercard: TLO vs (removed-to-avoid-spoilers) Title fight: BIC(c)(r)(etc) flex5(tm)(c)(r) razors vs TLO's beard
They will do live streaming of TLO getting his beard cut and if they can't tlo's beard wins.
Anyway nice idea. There's a lot of sc2 action going on these days but such high level matches, with the great production MLG usually has, is always welcome.
Never thought I'd see the day where I'm rooting for two terrans instead of my brotoss and sheth. Strange days have found us. But who couldn't love thorzain and mkp??
GSL not at 5am + this awesome showmatch + GAMEofTHRONES = Besame Mucho

I'm pretty sure Sheth is the only one that I've ever seen not completely clean shaven (can thorzain, mkp or oz even grow facial hair lol?), but he normally is.
A lot of mistakes on both side. It made for a fun game tho. Nice to see some ghost play in TvZ after the patch. EMP felt weak, but sniping infestor look pretty strong. Fungal revealing cloack is a big deal tho.
why do they still allow JP to commentate stuff? seriously, that guy already sucked in his WoW podcasts, and in SC2 he's even more terrible (which i thought unlikely back then). JP for worst commentator that's allowed to cast major events!!!
"Sheth, blablabla, Sheth, blablabla... and game one goes to Sheth. We saw such an amasing game from Sheth, blablabla..." I was like... Wait, Thorzain won this one, right? JP? WHAT? Wolf? This "no correction" policy between casters is so annoying.

I ask myself the same thing...
Besides that he fucked up the camera in the game ...
Sheth not really on top of his macro, got supply blocked already and isn't keeping up too well on larva. Definitely not playing as well as he usually does.
These units by Thorzain cost a ridiculous amount of money but are supply efficient. He was only able to get them because he was so far ahead in midgame.

2 of them are Korean, 1 of them is Thorzain, and the other is Sheth, who is usually clean shaven >.> I assume it's a Bic joke but... 9 times out of 10 you'd get a photo just like that lol.

I mean he had no real other option (expo would be super late), and Oz was transitioning out of a 4gate and warped in tons and tons of sentries so really didn't have too much dps.
Can we chill out on the MKP circlejerk? Oz didn't "Have more tech" He had 1 Immortal when he was already dead. Talking like Medivacs and Stim > Gateway Units with no AOE is some radical revolution of the TvP match-up.
Don't act like it was due to stim. It was basically because of the SCV's being too reselient. They're good against Stalkers and Sentries, but Zealots kill them faster (and have a shitty KI). Oz could've won that if he pulled his own workers earlier

he didnt say "have more tech" he said Oz was getting more tech.
Damnit I go AFK why Oz not go 2base collusi atk! Why let MKP get away with this. Partings 2 base collusi atk killed so many Terrans at IPL because it punishes these random double expos.

Oh god somebody tell the post above me to keep his opinion to himself. Anyway, why are you looking at another man so hard?
Probably since whenever they see JP, he looks usually clean shaven and not that hairy. At least whenever I do usually see him do MLG or whatever. I don't watch other programs that he may go on like SOTG. But even so, he looks really different as a hairy manbeast atm. It doesn't help the fact that their main sponsor atm is that Bic Flex 4 Razor ha.

Where's the guy writing that extremly biased text complaining about PvT after two toss advanced in their group of GSL? 4:0ed Oz. Even if it's MKP, that's impressive and one sided

Uh not really. No one said Z was super strong when Fruitdealer won GSL season 1. Fruitdealer was just that much better. Same here. Can't really say too much about overall balance when MKP is just THAT much better then Oz. Although I have no opinion about TvP balance. MKP GSL gogogo!

not to mention, Oz is not good at PvT while its MKPs best match up
mkp is the one to watch.. and apparently wolf just ignores DRG and Parting who are the actual real threats and mentions the bottom of the pool as "people to look out for" waT?
Oh my goodness. Excellent verbal force fields all night long from JP and Wolf, always talking up Parting and Marineking without ever mentioning IPL4 by name.
Great games, and as always... MKP FIGHTING! (Blizzard, please don't nerf terrans because MKP still beats Toss. Thnks, kbai.)

Well, it wasnt that bad, common dude, dont join the haters. Made me think you didnt like it. If thats the case, music should be the last thing to complain about IMO.
Could you please setup a rebroadcast for EU? I know I can view it the next day on your website, but its awful for spoilers, it always shows the number of games played, which after a few games gives away the result.

Neither commenting on good/bad of the music. Just the thematic nature. Last year, it was nonstop guitar riff. This year seems to be solid dubstep. The quality of either the guitar or the dubstep is not important, merely that there seems to be predominantly one type of music on tap.
I do wonder why Oz never did the 2 base col push squirtle used. MKP's very weak to col play due to his lack of scouting and never having vikings in time. Most of the tvp games I've seen him lose recently have been to col play. The squirtle, whitera and genius games come to mind. Col play is MKP's kryptonite in TvP.

Blame it mostly on the unfortunate timing with NASL, but MLG really should have moved it to tomorrow at least to gain more viewers. The Prizefights have never been the most popular stream around, mostly because there is so little hype. IPL Fight Clubs gain more viewers, despite having an equal amount of big names and teams.

Its not only the timing, there is no information whatsoever. No new thread (that deserves one), not even updated OP, no TL calendar entry, so not in sidebar.

During the NASL finals is just a business move, decent one at that. Failing to really promote this event was the big fail. Watching Stephano/Alicia or MVP/Nestea. Even with the finals of a tournament riding on one, which would most rather watch.
Really shocked that JP wasn't all over this. Considering legit promotion should be part of his job, plus his sacred karma points would have increased lots.
