I think it worked back when zergs were going muta/ling/bane as their core army every game. Now that roach play has improved a lot as well as infestor/ultra usage I don't think it's as strong as it once was. Thors are horriby vs. air outside of the splash so attention to splitting BLs pretty much mitigates Thor AA.

I can never play mech vs Zerg, I always end up losing my army. Plus to control mech you need better skills that I don't have. Long live bio.

The strength of mech lies in timing attacks just before broodlords hit (zerg has no other good answer against a balanced mech army) and it also depends heavily on the map. You are right in the way that the turtle-style mech doesn't work anymore, that's because of the ghost nerf (turtle-style into ghost-mech was very strong pre-patch, sadly nerfed before we could even see it in GSL)

Yeah it looks like it's doing quite well at the moment. But it feels like it depends a looot on how much damage the initial mass hellion harassment does. If Zerg is left unscathed I think it's hard to make a push pre BL.

With the post heirarchy of reddit it makes it easy to do a LR. OPs posts are highlighted and upvoted, etc etc. TL's great for discussing the game, much better than reddit, but live reports can get swamped in this thread, especially during big matches like blizz cup finals or whatever.

I almost completely went mech every time against Z, mech is strong only in certain timing and that is not viable in late game. (maybe Terran can win when all of the mineral have been mined out) Believe me, i have gone through all that. transition of Z from Roach>Muta>BL>Ultra>Lings>Roach is so hard for mech Terran to catch up

If its viable the whole game then it would be broken no? The fact that certain strats are weak at certain timings is good. it means the game is not broken.
