How so? I'd say it makes us on par, or if you're looking at numbers wise slightly below EU / NA (as a percentage of the population about the same).

I doubt that. I think, Australia is currently underrated in skill and that it is good, that australian players get the chance to show their skill in tournaments like this, but Australian players also did go 8-22 (5-18 if Targa is counted as norwegian) in the last IEM season, so saying that there is atleast a dozen of them, who are competitive to Stephano, Naniwa, HuK, Kas etc. is a bit over the top IMHO.
