The time has come for our twelfth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win. (Similar to IPL Team Arena, but without the teams!)
When: Sunday, Mar 04 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Sunday, Mar 04 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
HerO is on the warpath now, having taken out some of the best players in Korea and Europe: Jjakji, Dimaga, and ThorZaIN! Now viOLet enters the ring to see if he can topple this Liquid Protoss HerO and claim the $500 prize and $300 bounty!
I think HerO got this actually! viOLet is a very good zerg indeed! which gives us interesting strategies to watch! But i feel like HerO is the favor here.

Sc2 or IPL will have died out by then. 700000 bounty would literally be years upon years of fight club.

Think of it this way, we just set aside $600 per week instead of $500. In HerO's case, for example, he earned $500 several times but doesn't collect a bounty when he wins consecutive weeks, so the extra $100 just adds up! Also, $700,000 would take 7,000 weeks to accumulate, so we're pretty confident that it won't end up happening. =)

Unless things have changed, the TwitchTV app is for smartphones, so for example if you want to use it on the iPad it will work but you either get a screen the size of an iPhone or very poor resolution if you opt to double the screen size.

HerO does not look like the he is playing at his best. His Colossus control in particular looks off, as does his multitask in general.
Then again, cannot be on top form in all games, definitely entertaining games.
And to the comment about commentators needing to criticize Violet's decision in attacking after the Nydus, nothing makes me want to mute commentators who are not 100% correct in criticizing players. Seeing that this is basically two play by play commentators, I guess I am thankful that they do not pass that line unless they are absolutely sure it was the wrong decision.
I'm not a zerg player, can anyone tell me the differences in the timing of 6 pool / 7 pool / 8 pool / 9 pool? I remember back from BW that if you were early pooling vs protoss then there was no reason to 5 pool or something because you could 6 pool and hit all the same timings.
Does anyone know the worker count right now? I'd like to see how far Hero got by holding the 6pool on the ramp. It doesn't like like he's too far ahead though because of the 2 early cannons

Oh okay, yeah I tuned in a little late and just saw lings moving over. It makes sense that Violet and Hero would be pretty even after the hold because of the investment in 2 cannons
I was thinking that was a pretty aggressive third from Hero, and sure enough Violet just wrecked it. Violet is playing pretty aggressive now though, wonder if Hero can do a two base allin and pull out a win.

I have the Twitch.tv iPhone / iPad app and it never shows IGN streams on either device. NASL shows up fine. What do you do to make IGN streams visible? Do you search something other than IGN or IPL? It never shows up in featured streams. Do you log in to your Twitch account and already have the stream as a favorite?

I'm interested to see how Hero's stargate play goes. Hoping he can pull this one out. Seems like he came out a bit ahead during the opening with a second nexus before the zerg got a second hatchery.

It's pretty cool to see. I honestly think that the whole, you must go to Korea to compete mythology is exaggerated hugely, good training partners, and just practicing really hard seems to be enough. If only more foreigners did that.

Not sure that was worth it for viOLet. He has no map control losing most of his mutas and the rest at such low health. HerO can just reclaim his bases.
This has been an incredible series. I have faith in Hero(and I'm a huge TL fan) but I wouldn't even be upset if Violet won this. The play on both sides has been really good.

it is a pretty expensive unity afterall. a lot of tech/timming involved to get a broodlord. 4 suply is ok.

Well it obviously depends on your control vs. opponent's control. So far, viOLet's control has proved superior, though HerO seems a bit better at multitasking. In terms of "starsense", they seem about the same - good but not spectacular.

I really think the storms just aren't worth it compared to 3-4 archons in the vortex. He really just needed a few archons in that vortex and the game was won.

People are whining about lategame PvZ when hero basically mothershipped his way to like 2523 PvZ wins that way? Can't even remember the last time Hero lost in the late game. Every good zerg just takes advantage of the fact that hero pretty much likes to play only macro style games and it makes it really predictable.

You go 2 base colossi, similar to Hero's build on Shattered although the situation was different there. Problem is with ffe you can't reliably scout until you've chosen at least the beginnings of your build, so it becomes a guessing game.
damn pretty depressing week for PvZ. I mean ViOlet is sick good and has lots of talent but Hero has been grinding games from the start and everything about HerO is pushing protoss to the limit and evidently the current limit just isn't good enough ;(

My guess would be that warp prism production cuts into immortal and collosus production, both of which are crucial for PvZ.

I think the key is the mid game. Hero did not pressure the zerg enough and allowed zerg doing whatever they want. Even zerg did not build a lot of attacking units in mid game. Toss still needs to build a lot of attacking units to hold his 3rd base. And voilet's playstyle is so wired, he stayed 3 bases versus 3 bases. I could not understand how that works even though I know what they are doing there. Hero did not see what we saw there, it was hard for him to read what voilet was aiming for.
I think the best way for a toss to read what the zerg is doing is to get aggressive. That is why although Hero is able to show us brilliant pvz all the time, I still think Mc's playstyle makes more sense. Get aggressive in the mid game before you play a marco game against a zerg.

Just looking at the people who played so far shows this. They had a GSL champion, and one of the best TvZ's in the world, in Jjakji. Surely they can find people who are capable of beating Violet. You'd be hard pressed to find any player in the world who can withstand the quality of players in this for more than a few matches.

Not to mention that if he does win a few in a row that bounty starts to look pretty nice and makes for a good payday, so who wouldn't want to take a shot at that. Got to think once it starts to get to $800+ not to hard to find players.

I don't think they'll get a mirror in, especially not with the current state of things. A long ZvZ and PvP series will usually suck and can you imagine 9 games of TvT...
