Bracket and Map Pool
7maps: TalDarim Altar LE Shakuras Plataeu Korhal Compound ESV Cloud Kingdom GSL Day Break GSL Metropolis GSL Antiga
Bracket:
Game1: Bling vs Slivko -- Game2: Grubby vs Cloud -- Game3: BratOK vs Feast -- Game4: Stephano vs Diestar
Name: Jérémy Vansnick Game ID: MǂFeast Race: Protoss Age: 18 Nationality: Belgian Largest Achievement: 5th-8th IEM Kiev
Feast has always been a good competitor online winning quite a few online trophies but is pretty much a newcomer to the shining spotlight of an offline stage. After his amazing run through IEM Kiev where he managed to topple LiquidHero in the group stage proving his worth, he even managed to snipe a map away from MMA but unfortunately the overall champion came back to win 3-1. Remember he is only 18years old with not that much high level experience, most definitely a Protoss to keep track off throughout 2012. You could say still an underdog within this tournament but anything is possible for this youngster.
BratOK
Name: Pavel Kuznetsov Game ID: ImbaFXO.BratOK Race: Terran Age: 25 Nationality: Russian Largest Achievement: 4th Assembly Summer 2011
Pavel has always been one of the strongest Terrans in the foreign scene since Starcraft: Brood War. His doesn't really compete at that many tournaments so gets very little spot light and camera time which leads some people to discredit his actual skill level. Finishing 4th at Assembly and taking a game from Nestea and beating Loner at Blizzcon 2011 displaying good results once actually at events. He is a very macro focused Terran but delivers a mean punch of aggression in his play which makes him a very dangerous player and able to beat any player when in shape. A strong competitor for sure here.
BlinG
Name: Samayan Kay Game ID: DignitasBlinG Race: Protoss Age: 20 Nationality: English Largest Achievement: Top 8 WCG 2011
Team Dignitas representative once again for this invitational enters the ring. Samayan 'BlinG' Kay, every day gains more and more fans especially after coming off a strong Assembly performance where he lands another impressive group stage run of 3-0 including a 2-0 victory over TSLPolt. BlinG just recently returned from living in France within the Millenium team house and has worked extremely hard on his game, his vs Z is so fierce now to compliment his ever so strong game vs Terran, well why wouldn't it be after living with Stephano for months. He has gone from entering tournaments as a complete underdog to actually a strong competitor, representing Protoss and arguably the United Kingdoms num1 player, please welcome Bling!!
Slivko
Name: Artem Garavtsov Game ID: RoXKis.Slivko Race: Zerg Age: 22 Nationality: Russian Largest Achievement: 2nd Grubby Pro Invite
Slivko, not so known in the international scene but has started to put down some decent results managing to qualify for the MLG Winter Arena and before that competiting well in the IEM Sao Paulo event finally losing vs Supernova but managing to make it a close one 2-3. He is a very dangerous Zerg player who if untouched in game can easily turn on the heat and pull off amazing wins and on the other hand actually lands some pretty early pressure himself. I feel giving him the opportuntiy to shine here will prove to be a great achivement if he can lock down an impressive win. Another underdog going into this but a scary one for sure.
Cloud
Name: Carlo Giannacco Game ID: aTn.Cloud Race: Terran Age: 24 Nationality: Italian Largest Achievement:2nd UGS 2011
Cloud most notable for his rivalry against Goody or maybe, known for/as 'The Cookie Monster', does anybody still call him this? A very all around Terran player truly capable of picking up a decent tournament victory if he could string results together. A little bit inconsistent with his practice and results but on a good day, he can beat anybody, Thorzain victory at ESWC and taking a map away from MC at HSC4 are good examples. I think Cloud deserves a spot in this tournament as he has been Italys num1 player for both SC1 and SC2 for about 7-8years now, pretty impressive! Wish Cloud the best!
Stephano
Name: Ilyes Satouri Game ID: Millenium.Stephano Race: Zerg Age: 18 Nationality: French Largest Achievement:1st IPL3 2011
Please, welcome back the SCAN 2x Invitational champion here looking for his 3rd. Stephano widely know considered the best non Korean Starcraft2 player in the world, I have asked many Koreans who they think is the best and the answer echoes. He seems simply unbeatable and untouchable in the foreign scene and only Code S level Koreans are capable of stopping his path of destruction. The pioneer of Zerg play, welcome the IPL3/ESWC Champion!!
Diestar
Name: Marcin Wieczoerk Game ID: Millenium.Diestar Race: Terran Age: 20 Nationality: Polish Largest Achievement:1st EPS Poland
Here is Diestar, a regular face in the online scene since forever and now slowly making regular appearances offline most recently Assembly Winter 2012 where he managed to secure a victory over Evil Genius JYP! With more experience Diestar could become a consistent face on stage. Diestar plays a very aggressive style which could catch unexpected victims in this tournament, he uses medivacs and good unit control to keep the opponent under constant pressure, while focusing around nailing upgrade timings. Diestar, possibly the least expected to compete well here but we will see on Sunday whether or not he will surprise you.
Grubby
Name: Manuel Schenkhuizen Game ID: Grubby Race: Protoss Age: 25 Nationality: Dutch Largest Achievement:4th ESWC 2011
The peoples Champ enters the tournament, who doesn't like Grubby? His legendary WC3 past and now is rising SC2 skill, he slowly is becoming one of the best Protoss players out there as his hard work and determination is 2nd to none. I feel the only player in this tournament once again that can stomp out Grubby would be his arch nemesis Stephano, other than that, Grubby is a clear favourite to take the entire tournament. Get behind Grubby and show him your support as he carries your hope for a victory.

My invites are always good!!
I don't doubt that, it's just that I don't like tournaments of this format as I prefer seing players who are at the top of their game at the moment and prove theirself in qualifiers Otherwise we will never see new top foreigners rising in my opinion. You need a name to get invited to tournaments, but thats somewhat dificult if most of the tournaments where you can earn yourself a name are invitations only.

his comment wasn`t aimed at the quality of your invites, but the fact that ONLY already known players get the extra exposure, while upcoming players have no chance in defeating some big names. My guess is that he would like to see a qualifier that provide one or more spots for the actual tournament.

I gave GLsnute,TiTan and BeastyQT shots over big name players and I would like to think I offer non TOPTOP players the chance to play here but yes I agree overall. Maybe with more support I can run a open tournament for qualifying spots but all of that is time, I dont mind the work load, its just I am so busy with so much stuff.
I run this tournament from asking the players, writing up on teamliquid, administration for the event to the actual casting Its hard alone!
Welcome Bling and SLIVKO!! A lot of you guessed BlinG right but made mistakes on the 2nd invite, think outside the box a little for is your clue for tomorrows invites!! Guess again here if you want your shot at winning 1hour coaching with me :D !! glhf!! Hope you like the invites:D More to come!
Looks interesting. I definitely look forward to going to a live event once I have some dough but until then I'll settle for watching while I try to finally hit Masters! Good luck with it Apollo and everyone else involved.
I am looking forward to seeing Slivko again. He was really good in IEM Sao Paolo. His macro was excellent. He just should have attacked more decisively once he had got his broodlords up. Hopefully he has learnt that lesson.
So time to get thinking. Its on the 4th March so probably short notice for someone like demuslim whose only just got back from Arena.
EU Players that have cut it so far, hmmm, I guess you must be looking at Real, whose really come along with his play recently.. and the second player it could possibly be, hmm. Theres so many i want it to be (stephano, Naniwa, Thorzain) but my guess would be MaNa or Happy. Both are incredibly good on their day. But seen as i only get to pick one. Ill go with,,,

Its march the 1st in korean time, the standard time on TL
So it's either Stephano or BeastyQT that joins along with Cloud. And the more I think about it, the less confidence I have in my guess with Stephano XD

He's from Korea, yes, but according to Liquipedia "He currently lives in the Type.Vitriolic team house in Germany." which should make him count as a EU player imo.

Too late to back out now, GLHF!
The note for todays invites told us to think outside the box a little however, so if he is living in the EU then you never know

Please welcome our next two contestants to this wonderful arena!! Cloud and Stephano!! :D
Congrats to 'Iryerris' with the aid of my twitter post earlier today, you have won yourself 1hour coaching with me I will PM you on teamliquid here very shortly with details on whats next for you :D
Once again, the competition is open for you guys for tomorrows invites, guess both correctly and get your chance at winning 1hour coaching with me glhf!!
SCAN have asked where would like you like offers to be focused on for this weekend, gaming equipment, mouse keyboards? graphics cards? etc. Post if you have any ideas and they may listen to you :D !
Welcome Grubby and Diestar, even though Grubby spoiled at it the end!! We only had one guess correct, congratulations to Shibbxyz for guessing these two :D :D
Loving the line up. It's a bit "underground" (with some obvious exceptions) in terms of how well known the players are, but they're every bit the equal of the more..err..vocal and public players.
