Papua New Guinea until recently had a tribes who practised cannibalism and may still do so.. But I get your point.  From Wikipedia: Papua New Guinea The Korowai tribe of south-eastern Papua could be one of the last surviving tribes in the world engaging in cannibalism, although there have been media reports of soldiers/rebels in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Liberia eating body parts[112] to intimidate child soldiers or captives.[113] Marvin Harris has analysed cannibalism and other food taboos. He argued that it was common when humans lived in small bands, but disappeared in the transition to states, the Aztecs being an exception. | ||

I thought they only cannibalized members of other tribes, or had a high incidence of Kudu (or whatever its called, a kind of spongiform encephalitis like mad cow) as a result of eating brains of other infected individuals, but you could be right | ||
