Actually, in a lot of other sports they do this winners/losers bracket differently. In my sport (beachvolleybal), they put the highest 2 of the wb and the highest two of the lb in the semifinals, and complete the tournament from there.... so there is no advantage at all for wb's. Just saying that happens as well...
