BTW, this thread brings up a good point.

Can we get our future GSL livereport threads titled HOT6iX GSL to honor HOT6iX's sponsorship of this GSL? It makes a lot more sense considering this GSL will run from January to March anyhow.

LR threads are not named by sponsors until the grand finals anyways so it doesn't matter.

That's exactly the problem. We don't refer to the title sponsors of each GSL as much as we should be doing. HOT6iX sponsors this entire GSL and not just the finals, so we should immortalize it by calling it the HOT6iX GSL all the time.

BW fans, TeamLiquid BW articles, and even BW's Liquipedia always call BW tournaments [SPONSOR] [TOURNAMENT} and I am just suggestion we follow suit.

so what you want the tag to be [hot6ixGSL]?

its fine the way it is if you want to promote the sponsor so bad put it in the Banner of every LR thread.

look at the last 2 OSLs

their LR threads up until the finals are just called [OSL] RoX Day X we only do it for the grand finals to differentiate it from others and as a thank you to the sponsor for the great tournament.

yet the sponsor is promoted within the thread because thats where people actually care.

the LR thread titles are standard.

Did anyone else notice more people have watched this GSL's Ro32 than GSL November's Finals between jjakji and Leenock?

Holy crap does this season have a lot more views than last. Why such a huge difference?

This season of Code S is just THAT much more spectacular

Not to be the buzzkill, but it's because there isn't any major tournaments going on right now -> so more people will be inclined to watched GSLbecause the only real tournament right now is the GSL whereas during the Oct. Finals there was an oversaturation of tournaments. Though, that many viewers is still a really good thing, especially for a Ro32 game.

Edit: Upon further research I found that the Nov. games averaged 60-70K during the round of 32 and peaked during the finals at 198K. The Oct. games averaged only an estimated 50K viewers and the Anaheim finals peaked the season at 110K. Right now the January Season is averaging 230K viewers, which is a little bit of an improvement It probable does have something to do with a less competing tournament which may not share the same time slot as the GSL (MLG's never even play on the same days) but having too many tournaments will oversaturate the market. That being said, this a pretty high increase in viewership.

The drop in views over Oct->Nov also lines up fairly well with the spike of Terrans in Code S.

It could be [GSL] HOT6iX Code S, but I admit that is a bit cumbersome so you're right with regards to tagging being currently standardized.

However, unlike the OSL and SPL, the sponsor for the GSL is nowhere to be seen in any livereport thread.

I really appreciate the time and effort which goes into each LR thread, but it would be nice to put the sponsor either in the banner, or (more simply) in the body's text title right above the date / time it comes on.

from one of the LR threads that you linked you can see I do banner work and I do intend to help out my buddy seeker with them so don't worry, I will do justice to the sponsors.

Thanks!

Anyway, back on topic: MMA is a shoe-in to make it out of this group, so everyone is really fighting for second place.

Go go Gumiho!

Still feel like he's an up and comer though and is yet to look as daunting as perhaps he may in the future.

Expecting MMA and Gumiho, but honestly 2nd place in this group is up in the air I think. Gumiho has shown great TvZ...and a little bit on the average side too =/

TvZ is one of the most entertaining matchups, although it can feel a little one sided when Terran gets into a good offensive siege position and there's a little less variety with the Reactor Hellion opening being the go-to BO.

And somewhat offtopic, I went searching for Hot6ix because I know it's an energy drink but that's all I know. Here's a HILARIOUS link. http://thegrandnarrative.com/2010/03/14/gendered-drink-advertising-korea-hot-6ix/

And in honour of our most amazing sponsor of ESPORTS:+ Show Spoiler +

i think mma gumiho making it out is the obvious prediction here. i'll go against the grain a bit though and say yugioh third.
