Nice MC moving on even with jetlag! He's currently the best toss in the world again. Lol at the people complaining about mc cheese, when leenock tried to cheese him games 1 and 2. Also lol to people saying mc never goes off 2 bases, when in games 1 and 2 against forgg he went to 3 and 4 bases in macro games.

You have to understand, MC needed to punish the 3 early hatch build by leenock on daybreak. When a toss forge fe on that map and zerg takes 3 quick bases, then if the toss doesn't punish it, then you get stephano vs nightend at home story cup where zerg will just overrun you with roaches and there's nothing the toss can do about it.

MVP has lost to both MC and Leenock recently. It's not unreasonable MVP would have not made it out of this group too. It was that hard.

We shouldn't be harsh on him for losing to Leenock and MC but we can still be harsh on him for how he played those games. I only watched the Leenock games but I thought that game one he had a good starting build but couldn't execute well late game, letting Leenock chip away at him with multi pronged attacks, and game two he just looked awful.

Cute tactics I saw (T)fOrGG do and wondered why he lost game 1.
1.) Lifted the Thor into a Medivac for quick placement.
2.) Bating Mutalisks into Thor fire with Medivac.
3.) Getting his 3rd up before Leenock.
4.) Constantly forcing Leenock to engage onto his position.
5.) 3|3 at 19 minutes.

Thanks for pointing those out, didn't notice #2.

He lost game 1 because many times he seined up badly (late or bad positioning). Leenock was able to take out marines with bling mines and infestors and take out tanks with ultras/lings, not allowing forGG's pushes or armies to become a huge deathball. A terran army gets exponentially stronger the more stuff it has, so that really hurt him. Also, that one time when he didn't see Leenock attacking into his top left base was a blunder.

Honestly the more experiance that he gains against top-level players who do lots of cute-things like leenock the more his BW experiance will shine through with crisis management and using mind-games. We don't see much of that in sc2 now beyond the most obvious.

True, we never know how good a player's practice partners really are ^^ If you're playing against one of the best of a race, it'll be really hard to know what you need to work on until you play against them a few times.

I went sleep early lastnight so I could only catch the ForGG vs Leenock match. I just came back from class and read the results:

"Waaa, SuperNova beat Leenock?"
"MC, beat ForGG?!?"
"MC BEAT LEENOCK?!?!?!"
"LEENOCK AND FORGG DROPPED TO CODE A?!?!?"

Excuse me while I pick up my brain off the floor...

hey guys, sorry for the completely random post, but i didn't want to start a new topic.

i am rather confused about the up&down matches for this season, because i am currently going back and watching the up&down matches from november gsl at gomtv, but they are the same as this seasons? when i go to november GSL, it says that the up&down matches are 2012 GSL season 1! i'm confused, which is the correct season it belongs to?

on topic: MC! hell yeah! sucks for leenock, he caught a huge break for a while and it seems he's back to his original bad-luck streak...

the up and downs belong to this season, thats how the new season works. when code A round 24 ends and 12 winners get into code S, the up and downs are held next season

MVP has lost to both MC and Leenock recently. It's not unreasonable MVP would have not made it out of this group too. It was that hard.

Mvp never lost in a Best of X against MC in a BIG tournament like GSL or MLG, etc. That time MC beat Mvp in MLG went on to an extended series in which Mvp won. MC beat Mvp in WCG once and lost once to him. And a long time ago when MC was invincible MC beat Mvp 2:1 in a Korean Tourney which I forgot the name of.

Just because MLG uses an extended series rule, you can't disregard the first set. MC won the first bo3 at providence 2-0. MVP then won the 2nd set in an extended series 4-2.

I love love love the new epic GSL intro's. It might be cheesy, it might be so pedestrian to like, but it's such great hype and entertainment.

Homestory cup was awesome and I loved absolutely everything about it, but well, here's the actual pro league.
