MC did the right thing, he plays to win. But the strategy mc used might be a bit to powerful considering how easy it is to pull off. He will always destroy the 3rd base at minimun while most pro zergs obviously feel they need 3 base to handle ffe. Dunno, but the match up of PvZ just lacks something.

Wow you are a joke. Naniwa disrespected people that expected a good game, and disrespected himself as a player. Would Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant be what they are considered today if they fucking gave up? Nah brah they fucken go out and compete like a real man should. End this stupid childish rant already. He is a quitter.
Naniwa shouldn't have done what he did but GOM pulling arbitrary rules out of their collective asses just to punish him for not being their puppet is just as stupid and unprofessional as what Naniwa did.

I'm also not watching this GSL for that very reason. I may not even watch again until Naniwa returns. It ruins the competitive atmosphere when players have to bend to the business wishes of GOM or face random punishment.

I will agree that their punishment may not have been set in stone before it happened, but what he did was VERY childish, and he should have been reprimanded, too far too little can be argued as technicalities, but he did something that a true competitor should never do without punishments, and that is to be a pull a punk-childish-bitch-move. And that's what he did, so he was punished, I'm not going to argue whether or not it was too much or too little.

Seriously tell us how Leenock could have defended that? He got roaches/crawlers as soon as he saw the all in and it wasn't even close ...
Artosis also said that MC's all in won't work.

There's his problem.

If attacks can be held entirely reactively then playing aggressive has no purpose.

But attacks CAN be held entirely reactively, just not by Zerg

Switch to P for a while and then come back and tell us how that works.

If you seriously boycott the GSL for the Naniwa incident, you're an idiot cause he has himself admitted his fault and decided to not participate in this season by choice...

So for the record, I am not a Hardcore Naniwa fan. I respect him that's all.

I am not boycotting the all season of GSL just the first one. I am currently aware that Naniwa admitted his fault. I find myself his comportment childish but comprehensible. GSL could have punish him financially, because he embarrassed them on TV and show a lack of respect. But their decision to punish him in a sport manner is just wrong. By doing that I see a message "Hey we do what we want. This is our tournament, so behave yourself". I can't approve that.

This is not their tournament, this is our. Like Naniwa, GomTV owe us some respect. With their arbitrarily decision to revoke code S spot to Naniwa, without him breaking any rules, they disrespect the sport. We don't watch GSL because it's GSL. We watch GSL, because it's a sport competition with the best player. With their decision, they compromise the competition. I can't approve that.

By boycotting the first GSL of 2012 (and I hope I am not the only one), I remind GomTV they have to behave themselves. They have to respect the competition, it's not their tournament, it's our.

Is this satirical? It is almost too ridiculous to believe.

The tournament belongs to Gom, not you.

They did not revoke Naniwa's GSL spot, because Naniwa never had a GSL spot to begin with.

Do you think GSL will still happen if there were no audience ? We bought ticket. They make money out of it and organize a competition with it. If we were all gone, GSL will not be here. And about the gift to Naniwa, of course it's full bullshit.

Sorry, I know this discussion do not belong here. This is my last post about it.

Such a 7 gate attack should really come sooner with +1 attack only, +1 armor is utterly useless against roaches and mc should have had way less zealots. That was leenock's game to lose and he did so, a simple rush to burrow while delaying the push would have easily won him the game, it's really easy to abuse burrow against almost pure zealot/sentry like MC had.
Leenock played awful the entire series against MC as if he is somehow afraid of playing a proper game against protoss.

I have never seen a zerg having burrow at 8.30

Exactly, people keep saying "get burrow". What if MC had void rays or DT's with that attack? Leenock only saw the zealots.

It's impossible to have burrow that fast when going for 3 quick bases anyway. Even if he had burrow, you need at least 15 roaches to make use of it properly.

I think Leenock did the correct response, and again, even Artosis agreed with it and was sure that MC's push will fail.

Lings didnt have speed. Leenock let MC plant several pylons close to his 3rd. He took forever to make Spine Crawlers.

He didn't even got (or needed) lings, at least not many. How would they help vs mass zealots/sentry?

From what you're saying, Leenock should have stopped at 35 drones, get a lot of early roaches to prevent the pylons and also crawlers? All that while not knowing if MC will all in.

With speed lings around, it would be super hard to put down any pylons. He still had slow lings at the 9 minute mark, man.

Damn right. I'm proud of any player who uses a lame all in or timing when shit isn't in their favour. MC did what he had to do to win, and he fucking won. That's all i ask for in players i choose as my favourites. And this is coming from a guy whose favourite player, #1, in the whole world, is the Leenocktopus.

I love winners.

A pretty decent counterstrategy against this kind of a build is to start burrow and roach speed as soon as the lair is done so you get burrowed roaches, and yes it's going to be in time unless you are way too slow, 8:30 isn't really that fast and you in my opinion should be prepared to defend even by 8:15 unless you scout something that indicates otherwise.

I don't understand your artosis reference. With the amount of games artosis watches that suggests the push generally fails, so MC must have executed well, Leenock defended poorly, or most likely a combination of the two
