He had his stalkers in a great position and a lot of stephano's army didn't engage properly. He didn't use all of his infestors before they died and several brood lords took too long to engage. Mass blink stalkers are a scary army because at a certain point, they stop dying and roaches melt to them.
Oh yeah, upgrades were in MC's favor as well.

perhaps Stephano's KR trip showed him what else you need to think about, so now he doesn't know what to do. He's been very passive.

I think there were 2 important things in the lategame that allowed MC to crawl back. The upgrade advantage (Roaches get extremely soft) and the harass timing on the 4th that fabricated a great position for MC to attack into and denied some economy. Then MC made the right decision to attack the 4th instead of pushing into the third. Well played. Some big micro mistakes but good decision making and defense in the early-mid game created a seemingly unlikely win.

Something else people missed is that Stephano lost most of his Infestors to 4 Immortals. That was why MC kept his Immortals in front of his army, to try and snipe Infestors before the Immortals could die.
Really smart, IMO, even though his Immortals died. I think it's intriguing how many new ways to use Immortals are cropping up (Speed prism in PvP, sniping Infestors in PvZ, Warp Prism sniping tech labs/reactors in PvT). That range buff really made the unit more interesting.

Also Stephano got his 4th base quite late, and it was effectively harassed by DTs/Zealot a couple of times and never really got it running at full capacity.
Stephano had a massive advantage when he was 3base vs 2base but Stephano didn't pressure until MC got his 3rd and good FF prevented all damage.
