Updated the thread with new information. SlayerS has ultimately decided to withdraw from the tournament, before any games were played. Their spot has been given to the third place qualifying team StarTale instead.

The first broadcast for Team Arena Challenge 2 is today at 5 p.m. PST (about 6 hours from right now). The match is NSHoSeo vs. Dignitas and the live report thread for it can be found here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=305738

wow, this tournament is stacked. I have a feeling most of the foreign teams will be out of it quickly with all the korean teams participating. Quantic vs Mousesports is the only first round match without a korean team

Interesting. Is there a particular order that the matches will be played in? I was curious as to why NSHoseo vs Dignitas was broadcasted first, as compared to Quantic vs Mouz.

Of course with 16 international teams, we can only schedule games as they are completed. IEM Kiev had some conflicts for scheduling as well, so we have to take them as we can. Tomorrow's scheduled match is TSL vs. ReIGN.

Without IM or slayers I don't really see any team with realistically being able to compete against colMVP.

Mouz, NSHoseo, Prime, FXO, oGs, Startale. The difference between the Korean teams is not that great. Mouz also finished higher than colMVP in the last TAC.

I'd consider Seal in their A team too, but yeah it certainly wasn't a full B Team list like IM used last year.

We're working on getting the VoDs cut now and we will repost here when they are done! It should be done this afternoon. Until then, you can also check the jtv archive and skip to the games you missed. http://www.twitch.tv/ignproleague/b/306387025

Contenders for the last 4 spots, if they play, with some selected players:

Alternate (Cloud, Socke, Delphi, Darkforce)
Millenium (Stephano, Adelscott, LaLush, DieStar, Tarson)
FXO Open (Brat_OK, Strelok, Lowely)
CheckSix (Major, ThisisJimmy)
Vile(Yong, Dddoro, Spanishiwa)
eSahara (Maka, Check, Naama, DeathAngel)

Korea: HoSeo, Zenex, StarTale, Prime

If the Koreans decide to play, they will win just to sheer depth. The remaining foreign teams are not deep at all.

You have a really weird idea of who are the best players on the NA teams.

e: just so I don't sound selfcentered or anything, I'm not saying I should be on there xD but..

I think he got got the players wrong for vile, I would consider Chance, illusion, and State as the top 3. Not that I necessarily know any better than he does either, but that's just my experience in games / seeing them play. All of them are very underrated I believe..
I <3 StarCraft.
