Contrary to popular belief Stephano is not from the States, any mindless spam asserting otherwise after this time (19:48 KST/ 5:48 AM EST/ 10:48 GMT) will meet a moderator response. We have enough confusing spam posting in LR threads these days. Lets try to keep the love for everyone's favourite French zerg reasonable.
And as always: - No player bashing. - No caster bashing. - No balance whining.
Enjoy the games. |

If he finished 2nd he would have to face the 3rd in group b, so an easier opponent normally, so yes he had motivation

Both he and MC are 2-2, and I heard the commentators say that MCwas progressing to the next round heading into the MC/DRG match (while he was 2-1, the same as DRG). It doesn't make much sense. If there is a tie, it is decided by the players' head-to-head score. Since MC beat Stephano he advances even though they were both 2-2

Don't be a whiner.
MC didn't throw that game, it looked like a real game, and MC played quite well. The way he held that Infested Terran attack was amazing.

Anyone who watched that game knows that MC stuck until the bitter end. I was hoping for Stephano as well but this last game was 100% legit from my pov. It was also the best game of todays matches.
Yep. There was absolutely no sub-par play from what I saw of MC.
Heck, the only sub-par decision making from my opinion was trying to make a macro game out of it and not going for a two-base all in on Crossfire.

Fuck it... it was worth it. Those were some bad ass games. The three people that advanced all played some nice games tonight in Korea.

Mutas so good. The Phoenix and voidrays were killed early, and even the mutas all died from good storms/an archon in a warprism. He won that with roaches.
You don't understand how much time the mutas buy you. DRG harassing with mutas forced like 10+ cannons and also let him establish his 3rd and 4th base. He also knew everything that was going on in MC's base and knew exactly what to prepare for.
Game was pretty much over when DRG secured his bases while MC was still dealing with the harass. The mutas gave DRG that economy lead and then just pumped out roaches from that.

They certainly paid off as they picked off all the stargate units and random units here and there + templar archives but MC had them under control most of the time. It was the map structure, where MC had to split his units so much that made MC lost.
Also, going for archons instead of collossus doesn't help in these choked maps. I understand that templars were useful as well, but I feel like MC should have eased up on Archons, wait before moving out and include some Archons...

I don't think he was really trying to do alot of damage he was just trying get some map control and deter roach/ling all in or mutas since those builds are strong on crossfire which drg disagreed and said hmmm I think I will show case my top zvt muta control in zvp and it worked

And what part of the MC vs DRG game leads you to believe that MC lost the match on purpose?
1. Protoss has a hard time vs Zerg in general. 2. PvZ is not MC's best MU 3. Crossfire is a shitty ass PvZ match 4. MC had insanely good micro.
If you think MC threw the match vs DRG, then you might as well as accuse him the same against MVP cause that match was even more lopsided.

Best day! Three of my favorite players of each race advance! Well, the MC vs DRG game was good, MC tried his best, but it's not his fault for Stephano not advancing.

Cross Fire is a pretty crappy map for PvZ. Two base all-ins are standard. But that might be why MC decided to not go for a two base all-in, since it's predictable. Sucks that Stephano's tournament fate was decided on such a bad map. But then Stephano had his tournament fate in his own hands until he lost vs. MC doing a roach-ling all-in.
