The time has come for our first Losers Round 1 match of the IGN Pro League Team Arena Challenge!
When: Monday, Dec 12 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Monday, Dec 12 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
Format
This double-elimination tournament features 8 teams from around the world and is an All-Kill team format. This match is being played for the Losers Round of 8. The first team to defeat everyone on the opposing team's roster (5 wins, or a best of 9), will move on in the Losers Bracket, while the loser will drop out of the tournament completely. Keep in mind that this has a $10,000 prize pool, and only three teams will make it to the money!
Dignitas had an unfortunate series against SlayerS and will be looking for redemption here in Losers Round 1. With proven players like SeleCT and Sjow, and newer players like BlinG and DreAm, they stand a fighting chance to take down anyone. Millenium has a solid roster with an incredible anchor in Stephano. This match may likely rest on his shoulders, so we will see if he and his teammates can live up to the pressure. Here are their full rosters:

If Dignitas plays better this time around than they did last time, which isn't hard to do -.- , they have a very good chance. It's really pretty much Stephano vs Dignitas.. Unless their less-known players turn out to be beasts.

I don't think its only Stephano vs Dignitas.
Adelscott, Feast, Diestar and Lalush are no slouches. They may be slighty behind the likes of DreAm/Bling/Killer/Bischu, but not by a lot.

I do think Feast got potential but he is just not there yet. Diastar and Adescott are solid but seem to have been stagnated for a long time. Well Lalush im not gonna comment about (White-ra incident) was more then enough for me.

If it weren't for Stephano, Dignitas would have this easy. All im hoping for is that they actually play all the matches and not forfeit.

This is really hard to predict matchs because they are played like 1 month ago.
Also im interest dignitas.DreAm games,he is Chinese protoss.
Chinese protosses always has a great potential.

This time, the other Millenium players should be able to take some games, too. Dignitas players are a bit closer to them in skill than the mouz guys. If Stephano plays well, they could take the series, but Dignitas should still be the favorite here.

I don't think anyone on Dignitas can beat Stephano. Their best shot is probably their zergs Tandongho and Killer.

Even the casts aren't live sometimes I believe. They are indeed casted from replays.

They're live cast from replays during weekdays. They have weekends off so these are pre-casts.

Dignitas head office is based in UK, but they have players from all around the world, Killer lives in Argentina and Select lives in Korea for example. Millenium is 100% EU for the moment.

Well they said games from SlayerS next round will be played a few hours prior to casting them. They also said they would like to cast them live. But it all depends on time too. Sometimes you just can't get schedules right. SeleCT was at MLG and Dreamhack with travel time in between. Provides little time for practice or clan wars. But 3 weeks is a guess too. They could be from 5 days ago for all I know :/

Not removing anything from these cups organizors, they just don't inform viewers enough about the conditions in which are played this matches, and choose to let the lack of information breed rage and team bashing about these outcomes rather than dissipating the illusion they created of a smoothly run and recently played tournament on which their production is riding.

If your referring to Dignitas forfeit when SlayerS had 4 wins, I believe that was because they only had 4 players available. Not a big big team and having them all over the world = tough schedule.

Ya Merz and sjow both posted in the SlayerS vs Dignitas thread about it. I think it was during the day at MLG so they were literally playing matches in MLG while the clan war was happening. On top of that I think they both went to Dreamhack after? Small teams just have to hope and have all their players available.

This is precisely why Team Leagues are so awesome, they tend to be chock full of surprises and drama, and let you get a really good feel for a team and their players' strengths and weaknesses.

I love the sound effects for the IPL. I don't even really know if the winner voice means anything, but it just has a nice ring to it and sounds good, "Su-sang-jan!". Also, the Ads in Progress music is really cheerful.

Well, there is a skill gap between the top teams (Slayers, QIM, even colMVP) and the other teams (ReIGN, Millenium, Dignitas). Furthermore, when playing in an online setting, it is easier to give up on yourself if you are not doing well. Conversely, playing online is less exhausting, and allows players to perform better for more games.
As for next match, Liquid should beat ReIGN, but if they play like they did against Sase, outlook will not be good. ReIGN at least put up some resistance against colMVP.
