? you have to hype things, you know? and its pretty close to "the best players in the world" if you dont want to have mass koreans.
you guys acutally realize that they show IEM qualifiers for like 4 hours now, which have nothing to do with the HSC?^^ Most ppl seem to comment on those games in the thread here

I'm not grudging or envious ... and I know that only 1st got the flight paid. I'm not even arguing that KawaiiRice should have his trip paid. I'm just saying that I don't agree with different policies for different regions. Everyone should get the same treatment. I.E. if 2 koreans are getting their flight paid, then the top 2 from the other regions should get paid too. Just looking for equality. Anyway that's all I'll say about it.
This is not difficult, nor is it new.
1. Because the two regions are not on the same level. Everyone knows that, including Blizzard. The Korean server houses the Koreans, who are at the pinnacle of StarCraft 2 and who dominate almost every tournament they're involved at. It's the same principle that leads to utilizing UEFA coefficients for the UEFA Champions League in Association Football. The top leagues of Europe get more spots because more dominating teams/players come from those leagues. La Liga, the English Premier League and the Bundesliga get 4 spots in the UEFA tournament whereas the Dutch Eredivise gets 2.
Regions with less skilled players should not get the same treatment in qualifiers. This is simple and it wholly effects the quality of the tournament. Best example is the Blizzard Invitational and the MLG Invitational. What were the results of equal distribution of players? Korean dominance in the Top 4, Top 2 and Champion. Naniwa won the latter tournament against a Korean but the top 4 was still occupied by 2 Koreans and 1 NA and 1 EU. Why should there be equal distribution among regions when those regions get destroyed in the first rounds by Korean players? There should be skilled players who offer a chance with the "right amount" of non-Koreans until the non-Korean scene can wholly elevate their level of play.
2. This is a tournament being held in Europe which is disadvantageous for any Koreans. To be marketable to people who want to see truly skilled players, there must be a decent size of Korean players. It is only intelligent to offer more placement spots for Koreans since it is a verifiable fact (see above) that they will likely dominate a tournament. MLG does this, it is as a great incentive to them to have 4 Koreans show up and dominate their group and for the top 6 of their tournament to be Koreans. They exploded in viewership when this occurred and that was because the Koreans provided the best games and the best storylines (fighting against North Americans and Europeans).
I am sorry you're unable to understand these simple facts. If you want to whine about it, you're whining against a history of proven success. Your "guy" isn't as good as the Koreans, he probably never will be and you'll have to deal with him taking 2nd place in a weak region. If he had to qualify through Korea in any tournament, he'd be dismantled. He's fortunate he has the opportunity to do so with less skilled players.

I agree with your points although the language was a little strong. Xeris should also appreciate the popularity and legitimacy of Koreans considering that MC/Puma saved NASL1 and same with Hero/Puma in season 2.

DeMuslim just told MoMan that he'd be there. Sorry if it was already confirmed.

Dimaga qualified and Take said he was invited anyway during the cast...

yep, true. my mistake^^ demuslim wasnt confirmed, its a new information from himself i believe
but it was pretty obvious anyway :D

Anyone know if ToD is invited? He was the best player-commentator last time imo, so would love to see him there again. Would be surprised if he wasn't invited, considering the reputation he has among the former wc3-guys in europe (of which Take and Rotti are among) - but he might not accept the invite if he's in Korea.
Also, need more swedes, and MC..

this is one of the best tournies out there, the casting couch and the fun atmosphere, yet serious competition is amazing. Take knows how to run a tourny

Wow, I want to know what kind of smoke Incontrol blew up EG's ass to get them to pay for a trip to Germany. Well, that or whatever TaKe was high on at the time.

While he might not be the favorite to take the event, he's a fantastic community member and draws many viewers. I'm glad to see he's still attending events rather than just throwing in the towel.

If they manage to get the Korean's drunk we might have ourself a close tournament.

Sheth said on his stream a few days ago that he had a wedding to attend, on the same day of the tournament.

Imagine someone like Flash will make his SC2 debut on Homestory cup....

Shaping up to be an amazing tournament. A pity if we won't see either Bling of TItan, the new talent deserve to be represented there.
