Same drill as usual:
  • No caster bashing.
  • Excessive tournament bashing that detracts from game discussion will be met with moderator action. Criticism is welcome, whining is not.
  • In general do your best to stay on topic and discuss what we're all here for: the games.
Enjoy the games guys.

I hope NASL brings djWheat to the Midwest and gets the hell out of California, I'll go everyday just to meet him.

I'd rather blame the placement of the audience rather than the crowd itself. It's a sad day when an event tells the crowd to shut up (Not implying that NASL has done this).

Yeah, I blame it on this. The mic picks up their chatter and they can be heard in the background making it annoying. I doubt the crowd is talking over the match intentionally to look BM. The staff would need to figure out a better mic arrangement or place the seats further away so this won't happen again. It's not good since it alienates the crowd and makes them look like they don't care or are disrespectful, and makes NASL look a bit amateurish.

As for Mana's gameplay on game3. Man, can't believe he didn't have enough for another nexus. Maybe he was on tilt?

Game 1 and 2 were pretty tough losses. In both of the games he was ahead in some way and then Morrow is always able to win the major engagements.

And judging from that crowd pic they are seated way too close to the casters...

Just woke up. How is the tournament so far? Wasn't it supposed to be over by now? Were there actual delays or did the games just last too long?

Why would you think that morrow would be able to dominate Sage in practice? Sage probably has some of the best PvZ i ever seen.

The actual good thing about being their and one of 20 people is you're probably going to walk away with at least some good electronics...lol.

Also, good face time with Day9 and DJWheat.

I'd definitely go if I lived in California.

Mana is playing awful... haven't seen templar tech once despite Mana constantly getting maxed. He's picking terrible unit compositions. Templar would have won him both games.

6000+ posts and still clueless.

Except I'm right.

Surely would have been different games, but are you sure MorroW would just look at his stuff die to storms? MaNa is not stupid and knows MorroW's style well, but MorroW just seems to be one step ahead the whole game.

Are you kidding? Mana had leads in both games. MorroW was massively behind in both games. However, when you play Protoss and try to go near 100% blink stalker you're going to lose. That's what Mana has been doing. Trying to win with pure blink stalker (with like 3 colossus sprinkled in and a few sentries, tops).

Almost no Protoss does this. Mana is usually good, but he's playing utterly terrible. Blink stalkers are good, but you can't win vs a Zerg if you don't build anything else.

Basically Korean does this. Its like the only comp that can control macro while being safe from 10 muta switch.
Yea Mass Blink stalkers is do-able. Korean protoss' make nice force fields and blink back progressively to snipe each and every overlord. In fact - Sase does this quite well.

He had a very low sentry count, and I've never seen it work in the super lategame, only in the mid or mid-lategame.
You're right. Super late = mass archons with some sentries, stalkers and possibly 1-2 colossus. Templars for feedback + storm. Archons are some pretty damaging units v zerg, esp with +3 attack >.<

MorroW was clearly underrated in the past months.

He didnt play like any major tournament and people seem to have forgotten about him. But it seems like he stepped up his game with his training - and will probably do so even more now that he is in korea.

Still, people shouldnt overhype this. Everything went pretty much perfectly in those games for MorroW cause he knew mana so well - exept for game 1, where mana threw the game away.
For example on Terminus, he went up to 65 drones without a single unit knowing that MaNa wouldnt push on 2 base. Game 3 was pretty impressive though from MorroW i gotta say.

Hope he does well in the next match and shows some impressive stuff!

How does a tournament with a $100,000 prize pool and well known players and casters only attract a live crowd of 20 people?
