Same drill as usual: - No caster bashing.
- Excessive tournament bashing that detracts from game discussion will be met with moderator action. Criticism is welcome, whining is not.
- In general do your best to stay on topic and discuss what we're all here for: the games.
Enjoy the games guys. |

are you high? ever heard of Androide? he's one of the best foreigners ever (in sc:bw)
in sc2 you have BRAT_OK and Happy, they might not be as good as the bw foreigners were but they're not bad by any means

Alexander --> Alex Daniel --> Dan Jonathan --> Jon or John
Stuff like this makes sense to me. Though, admittedly, I've never understood Robert --> Bob.
The Vladimir shortening is bemusing, and I've never understood how Nikolai --> Kolya. I think it's an issue with transliteration, or in other words, alternate ways of spelling the same anglicized name. So for example, Dmytro can also be spelled as Dimitro, and thus, Dima for short. I don't think it's a transliteration issue. I can read Cyrillic, and it still makes no sense to me. =/ I feel like I should find some Slavic linguist and ask if there's a general rule for Russian nicknames. the twists are usually random man i can't get the way they were created myself but somehow everyone knows them or is instantly able to understand what they stand for :D TT It was really difficult reading Russian novels where the author would just switch between the characters' nicknames and actual names and they looked nothing alike. I have a hard enough time keeping track of characters, much less characters referred to with two names at a time.
haha, now imagine me trying to figure out tones of different interpretations for each word in english (and those don't have any logical connection either :D)

Are they gonna finish the 1st round of the finals tonight? http://nasl.tv/Standings/finals
IE: Is there any offical word on whether or not Idra will play his game tonight

For the record, Russian casters call them Dima and Pasha all the time

SoCal Power Outages <- I hope the internet doesn't go out :< Also, probably another reason why the crowd is small today.

Spire on the way, he'd just start spreading creep + defend it with queens, when mutas pop kill banshees with them + overseer, take a 3rd and now you have a terran on 2 base without any usable tech lategame against a zerg that has all the tech he needs for the midgame ready with better econ and no threat of any kind of push. If anything, it surprised me that bratok bothered to throw the cc up rather than 1-2 raxes more

bratok is tilting a bit, his reactor was about 10s late, really uncharacteristic, on a difficult map too, though better for terran now with the rocks if this is the latest version

lol, who cares about Russian pride these days? Those time are long gone.. =)

Cancel CC... I'm not even sure that gives you any sort of advantage. What are you going to do with that 300 minerals? You don't have zerg production capabilities, you've got raxes, and a limited number of them.

What? He played Macro games and then did an all-in in a best of 5 situation and he is gimmicky? You can not play one style only in Starcraft 2, in Series you have to mix it up and throw in some all-ins.

grats Hasu. nice.

This was a Plat level game from Brat_Ok and he might let down his country once again lol, don't be so harsh on the guy its been a year, he has been making one of the higher salaries in Europe for a while. But for first 6 month he kept not getting visa and by the time he started showing up to lans he stopped being top 3 terrans in Europe like he was for first 4-5 month the game came out. My problem is that we had amazing broodwar scene (day9 and artossi used to practice with Russians before WCG). Advocat, Android and such, but now its seems like our players are comfortable taking daily tournaments only

Not to be a total and complete noob, but could someone tell me who is casting with Mr. Bitter? He sounds familiar, but I can't put my finger on who it is :D.
Thanks!

Although extending it to starcraft is a little silly.
