Same drill as usual: - No caster bashing.
- Excessive tournament bashing that detracts from game discussion will be met with moderator action. Criticism is welcome, whining is not.
- In general do your best to stay on topic and discuss what we're all here for: the games.
Enjoy the games guys. |

Alexander --> Alex Daniel --> Dan Jonathan --> Jon or John
Stuff like this makes sense to me. Though, admittedly, I've never understood Robert --> Bob.
The Vladimir shortening is bemusing, and I've never understood how Nikolai --> Kolya. I think it's an issue with transliteration, or in other words, alternate ways of spelling the same anglicized name. So for example, Dmytro can also be spelled as Dimitro, and thus, Dima for short. I don't think it's a transliteration issue. I can read Cyrillic, and it still makes no sense to me. =/ I feel like I should find some Slavic linguist and ask if there's a general rule for Russian nicknames. You can read Cyrillic? Wow. But yeah, that would be really interesting. I found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocorism#Russian , which doesn't explain the why, but mentions that there's a loose pattern involved. Thanks for the link! And holy shit, nicknames. @__@
I took a year and a half of Russian, so it'd be sad if I couldn't read Cyrillic, ahaha. My speaking's pretty much gone, and my hearing's never been good, but at least I can read it. The alphabet's really easy to pick up if you just sit down with it -- not much harder than any other alphabet, at least. And there are certainly harder languages.

I have a hard enough time keeping track of characters, much less characters referred to with two names at a time. haha, now imagine me trying to figure out tones of different interpretations for each word in english (and those don't have any logical connection either :D) As a native English speaker, I don't even know what you mean by "tones of different interpretations." That sounds hellish though. D:

Only reason is borderline considerable.

Reason was a beast in his days, maybe not so much now though but he barely plays anyway

Only tricking the zerg into making a ton of drones thinking you're gonna expand but it was completely useless this game because dimaga was already preparing for an allin before he even started the fake CC.

China has about 10x Russia's population. Stop feeling bad, and population has nothing to do with it anyways.
Btw, you guys had Androide. I heard that he was....you know...pretty good.
