Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:

- NO Balance Whine.
- NO Player Bashing.
- NO Caster Bashing.
- NO BM whatsoever.

Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

The better player came second. Ah well, Naniwa tilting in refusing to do something like DT rush or just 3gate or 1gate robo.

Leenock just need to watch Naniwa's previous games vs Neatea. Naniwa's build can be hard countered easily because he did the same every time.

Except he didn't. He reacted to Nani's builds. Unless you think 7 pool and 14 pool are the same.

true that. idra really frustrated me this weekend. naniwa has been fighting his way out of some bad situations, so i wouldn't write him off.

Roach Rush > FFE. Looks like Leenock has Nani figured out, from what I noticed he FFEd in like every game he played, which makes sense because I noticed in the games he lost in GSL it was because he was down bases so that was probably what he did to make up for it. Naniwa can't macro at a korean level yet, and I really hope that changes because if not I'm worried he'll continue to be one-and-done in the GSL.

it's not macro, i think he goes FFE to do a sharp 2 base timing because it's a really strong build by him

FXO zergs are so cheesy. Lucky and Leenock do almost nothing but all ins. I just do not see why so many people are cheering for him. Because he is 16?

he beat mvp in a macro game, should be enoghh

This is the cheesiest I've ever seen Leenock play. Please watch other Leenock games before assuming roach rush when you only see 1 series. He played standard versus DRG and in all his Code S games this season.

Also he beat Nada with a 6pool.

Yup he's playing the PLAYER!

He has a good handle on Nani. Nani HAS to switch it up or else this is ALLLLL OVER!

Naniwa is like the Protoss Idra where he's super predictable. Leenock is just punishing that fact and it's clearly paying off.

YUP, about to be all she WROTE! BOOM!

Ok geniuses. What opening is better? 1-3gate expo? We saw how that got crushed for Huk. Problem is the mappool. The map pool was originally designed to advance zergs. After the tweak the open nats weren't also taken into account.

blargh. GSLesque final.

Cheese back for once? Do a 3 gate expo for once, sure it is probably relatively "worse" than a FFE, but it holds this better. A few more canons preemptively? Etc

Naniwa keeps going FFE on maps you can't really FFE safely on. (I think? Dual Sight & XNC) Leenock is showing boring games, but you can't blame him for doing what he knows will work. For the same reason you can't really blame all the protosses who did 6-8 allins against zergs trying to go mutas. In fact, I think it's a mistake not punishing builds like this. FFE with pylon and cannons so you can't hatch first, and can't get an early third leaves zerg behind. Mutas on three base against robo builds leaves protoss behind. If you have a build that can win against what your opponent is doing, why would you do a build that puts you behind? Sucks that the games of the finals are kind of boring though.
Merciless and/or cool glasses!, the players I love: DRG, MC, Leenock, MVP, Polt, Huk, Fin!

Naniwa had nothing planned for this final. He did the same build over...and over...and over...and he kept getting punished. It's his own fault for getting punched in the mouth. First time? Okay. Second time? Oops. Third time? Yeah, you deserve to get popped in the mouth if you leave yourself wide open.

The other thing to understand is that possible builds go a long way to balancing the actual builds used in play.

A big reason Terran all-ins are so powerful because there are so many of them, not because any one is inherently very powerful.

FFE is a lot more powerful when its not the only game in town. Naniwa is shooting himself in the foot by opening like this every game, even on maps like XN, that are notoriously hard to hold a FFE on.

If you lose to the same cheese/build/rush 2 games in a row that shows more about the loser than the rusher.

Apparently fucking up your FFE and getting punished for it isn't fair!
