Praying for Leenock to win so we have a proper final!
Leenock would still have to win two Bo3's while Naniwa would have to win one. MLG uses a proper implementation of double elimination, that's how it works.
What? MLG has never worked like that. They just put Nani up 2 games in a BO7.
Yes, and having to win 4 games means having to win 2 Bo3's.
If he wins the first 2 games, then it's 0-0 and it's 1 more Bo3.
LOL just realized if naniwa wins 2 more games in a row, he will have won MLG providence with only 8 games played total. 2 against nestea, 2 against huk, 2 against drg, 2 against final comer
naniwa's accomplishment imo isnt that ultra overwhelming considering nestea had to face naniwa after going through the open bracket and having no stamina
naniwa is facing guys that are already so gamed out when they get up to face him but naniwa only played 4 games before DRG heh
i suspect once zergs learn to deal a bit better with this heavy strong forcefield style naniwa wont make it far in code S facing fresh players. i know after 30 games i get really dull and cant play at my top level
or heck even if you just have to play 6 games of high intensity in a row it really takes a toll on my level of play
I kinda have to completely agree with tyler in the statement he did in SOTG , about the player with higher chances to win a tournamet. "Since there is not a player to be completely solid and unstoppable it depends on how they feel and who play better a day more than the race and the player all run"

I'm curious to see if MLG will follow the GSL's example in changing the format for next year. I have nothing against this format but people were saying that the GSL was "losing meaning" because it was near impossible to get knocked out of Code S, while MLG has a similar rule. You place highly in a tournament like Providence by way of past performance (I.E. top whatever, say 20) but then you only have to win 1 or 2 series to finish top 20 again and secure a cushy seeding for the next tournament. A player like MarineKing or Mvp who crushed through 8 rounds of Open, then 5 rounds of losers/winners bracket deserves more credit and a chance at the title than a player who wins 3 series' and is then in the final.
