Precisely. Because Naniwa is a known pro-gamer, I guess in a sense that he actually has a responsibility to up-hold respect to 'seniors' responsible for bringing SC/SC2 to the popularity/state it is today. Boxer because without him esports wouldn't exist today. Nestea, because he's one of the most respected Zergs in korea and is responsible for bringing Zerg to where it is today (My opinion as an avid watcher of the GSL, but then again, people may view this totally differently...).

Seriously this MLG is probably the best tournament story wise that I have ever watched.
So many classic match ups going on.

It's also compounded by the allegations of dodgy occurences in the last game.
If there had been no map change/pause/toilet break/coach entering booth etc, it would have been fine.
I think there's a fine line between what MC did vs Idra (throat slit) and what Nestea did to Nestea, and the jury's out on this one.

WOW I just watched the VOD of Naniwa vs NesTea game 3. NesTea looked so pissed at the end of the game throwing down his headset. And Naniwa's thumbs down to NesTea just made me feel so sad. NesTea must have felt he was alone against the world.
|
Just watched the game and to me it seemed like whether Naniwa did this or that is pretty irrelevant. He outplayed Nestea by pulling off a cannon rush that Nestea should have been able to stop and a tech snipe followed by a devastating timing attack.

naniwa is an orphant douchebag even his parents didnt want anything to do with him.

+ Show Spoiler +On November 20 2011 18:21 mvtaylor wrote:Story goes: Naniwa loses game two and instantly chooses Shakuras Plateau as the next map and loads up whatever version before an MLG admin gets to the booth. One of the players said they needed to go to the toilet but the admins said they had to go now. Game starts, Tastosis still on screen they realise they have to pause as Naniwa hasn't done anything for a full in game minute, he then goes to the toilet. NesTea is rather annoyed as he was ready to go, coach says he can use the toilet as well if he wants but he doesn't want his thought process interrupted, as Naniwa is taking so long he decides to go anyway. As Naniwa hadn't done anything in game they decide to start from scratch. Naniwa gets back to his booth first and decides to fire up the replay of the last game to see where NesTea spawned and what his strategy was. MLG officials tell him he can't do that but by the time they get in the booth he's already done it. Game restarts and Naniwas probe gets to cross position but doesn't find NesTea there. Despite it stating on the MLG website under the sc2 tournament map rules that this map has the same spawn positions as the ladder version AND Naniwa choosing the map before an admin could even get to his booth he pauses the game and kicks up a fuss saying the map is wrong and the admin said it was cross spawns only. Admins aren't really sure what they can do as he's typing this all on screen so crowd can see it (you can hear the booing if you watch the stream back) and it looks pretty bad for them even if none of it is true. Officials tell him he can't restart and the map isn't wrong so he types out the "oh this tournament is bullshit, give me a moment to think" stuff. Naniwa is very angry and then his team coach (who has obviously been able to see what NesTea was doing in game up to this point) enters Naniwas booth with the game paused at 1:47 on the clock and talks to him. NesTea is sitting in his booth on his own and the match finally resumes (not reset - RESUMES) at least ten minutes after it was meant to have started with Naniwa having seen NesTeas opening on the first attempt to play the map and then been told it by his coach on the second attempt to play it. Sources: MLG Sundance: http://www.reddit.com/user/sundancedSpectator: http://www.reddit.com/user/NaNiWaisnotBMFrankly that, followed by his little ceremony is pretty awful from Complexity and Naniwa and the fact he only got one technical foul when you look at that in the cold light of day is really poor from MLG. It was not MLGs fault that Naniwa did not remember (or was not told by complexity staff) the map rules for the tournament and the fact he then stalled out one game after beign told by an admin they had to start, watched a replay of one attempt to play a game and then forced a pause in the second attempt of the game and got to talk to his coach essentially mid game is beyond bad and I fully understand why NesTea and the IM coach are so angry. I'd almost go as far to say there have to be enough infringements that NesTea deserved a win by default for the third game of the series... EDIT: you can watch the whole thing back on the MLG Site - Red Stream 9:36:40 NesTea wins game 2 9:40:40 Tasteless realises something is wrong while they're trying to get game 3 going 9:45:20 Attempt to start the game, more problems, booing from audience, eventually Tastosis gets told whats up 9:51:10 Game restarts with them in close by air spawns, you can see Naniwas probe going for the cross spawn cannon rush while NesTea's overlord is heading for the close by air natural 9:52:40 Naniwa pauses when he realises NesTea isn't cross spawns - NesTea obviously looking slightly annoyed 9:55:30 As Tasteless says NesTea probably has no fucking clue what's going on 9:58:30 bit of crowd "noise" - naniwa f* MLG (?) 10:01:59 the game finally resumes - 25 minutes after game 2 finished and 15 minutes after they'd already tried to start the map
The post on page 666, which some people refer to as the one with the facts about Naniwa story is very biased. Moreover the author as his sources uses texts which are NOT saying the stuff which he says, they are quite OPPOSITE. This is really confusing and ridiculous, and quite bad practice from the author of this text.
Please GO TO THE SOURCES and read for yourself from people who saw it and don't read biased posts by fans! Spectator: http://www.reddit.com/user/NaNiWaisnotBM MLG Sundance: http://www.reddit.com/user/sundanced

As much as I dislike Naniwa, this isn't needed....

I really didnt like naniwas cocky behaviour. Its one thing when MC does it, cause he is doing it for fun. But Naniwa looks grumpy and mean. I really hope someone knocks him down.

What my Google translate-abilities can see there is no Naniwa-bashing on PlayXP (and it probably wont be unless the drama spills over), how come there is so much drama here and no over there?
Ok, so Naniwa is BM, but do you really think he cheats? Should you hate him? Why should you care so much?
It is sad when people focus on the negative so much, if you don't like Naniwa cheer for his opponents but don't bash him. That goes for Idra too. Don't be anti-fans.

It was very obvious, at least to me, that Naniwa was bitching and whining so he could pull off a pre-planned cannon rush on Shakura's Plateau.
There should be an asterisk forever associated with this win.
*Won after choosing the map and delaying the game multiple times for an unfair advantage".

It seems to me that merely "rubbing off" dubious events that would be deemed unacceptable in more mature fields is hurting e-sports! Jokes aside, Naniwa won. However, there should be absolutely no justification for a coach entering hsi player's booth mid-game; even without proof, that is a behaviour so inconvenient, so inherently prone to cheating that at least a formal warning and/or excuses should be issued.
|
no matter if the replay-watch and coach-talk was intended from Naniwa, or not intended. that doesn't make a difference. what happened, (if it truly happenend) was cheating.
at least there should be regame 3. Naniwa should be thankful, if that would be all.

blocking the mineral area with a couple pylons and making a cannon behind it is so stupid. most GSL maps have much more space behind the minerals in order to prevent this.
on a balanced GSL map, naniwa would have probably lost game 3, as evidenced that nestea crushed him in game2.
You know he won 3 other games against nestea?

I think BoxeR did some big cheese on him like proxy barracks on terminus and Idra raged because he wasn't going to get into the playoffs due to losing.

Hoping for awesome games today.
