What are you talking about? These guys live in SK and we see them play Koreans all the time online. It's just when it comes down to the GSL they don't play as well as we're used to seeing them. I'm honestly not sure if we can weigh streaming that much. Plenty of players look great in practice, but don't shine in leagues, and I remember BW coaches have explained that aired games are completely different than practice games. What really matters to me is what they can show in tourneys, where we know for certain both players are taking their games seriously, and Sase has had multiple chances to do so. I mean there are only so many foreigners in GSL and as far as I know they don't have any real advantages over Koreans. Chances are, most of them will lose. I wouldn't mind if I am proven wrong though.

Not even close the truth! Counterexample? you watched BW, do I really have to? This whole thread tonight is an exercise in hypocrisy. TL admins participating in extensive debate about who was a better BW player out of forGG/MVP when MVP isn't even playing, all while the next game is going on in a LR thread. Irrelevant discussion like that is usually hammered down with impunity. I'll pretend that the comment about Sase isn't the typical BW elitist attitude for the minute, but do note the success of foreign W3 players vs foreign SC2 players. Eh? I'd say the same thing if people said idra was eliminated because of nerves. I think you have a bone to pick with me/TL for some reason ![]() Please address my first point if you want to have a leg to stand on. It's a side discussion related to a player. It's not balance whining, it's not caster bashing. It's an intelligent discussion of the background of one of the players who we saw tonight. This isn't hypocrisy at all. This LR thread is reasonable and fun without completely derailing from the games. What's your problem? Irrelevant debate is irrelevant debate. Doesn't which irrelevant thing it addresses. The banning are to prevent endless caster bashing/balance whining, I believe. The goal is to create a fun AND informative LR thread, not just a pure play by play. What's the problem with that? EDIT: Naniwa noooo. Lucky with great responses and it looks like Naniwa's got some nerves going on ![]()

Though he was pretty much screwed because of the choke anyway. JYP is one of the better Koreans, so not too bad losing to him. Think Naniwa has a good chance of advancing, though it seems like foreigners never play up to standard vs Koreans. Or maybe Koreans usually play better than foreigners, and foreigners keep using excuses instead of getting better. Only Huk and Idra can hang with Koreans these days and the results prove it. *Cough* Stephano *Cough* ^.^ Sigh, wait till Stephano competes in Korea, and people like to gloss over the fact that Stephano didn't make it very far at all at MLG orlando lol? he came from the open bracket and got that far. the amount of Bo3 he won in a row is amazing, and you say that? wowwoow Sigh again, another fanatic. How many notable players did he beat? Players have come out of the open bracket and had much better showings, ones that comes off the top of my head? Ganzi, SaSe, MKP sigh sigh sigh lol. he went 14-6 in the tournament, beating whitera and kiwikaki on the way. he lost to StC (who said he had thewind study stephano specifically to defeat him) and boxer (who is so aware of stephano that he said that he has created a brand new way to play TvZ). yet you look down on him for this performance. but that's okay, because stephano has won more or less every other tourney he has entered it seems like lol. Remember, he is the highest non-korean competitor in prize money this year, despite only really entering tournaments in the past 3-4 months. All of the 5 players above him have won at least one GSL, a tournament stephano has never played.... he is quite comfortably worthy of being mentioned alongside huk and idra lol! I didn't say he wasn't worthy FFS, my initial point was the level of fanaticism that follows him is annoying and you guys are furthering my point. I even have given him praise by saying I like his play and think he can succeed vs Koreans. I just want to see him do it in Korea.

The irony http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Orlando/Open_Bracket Bracket 1 Semifinals. Stephano losing 0-2 to oGsTheSTC or maybe you thought I was talking about a different player? Nooooo i was responding to another guy. I just happened to merge his quote with my reply. pretty sure i would take stephano's ZvP over IdrA's any day too.
