If a new team defeats them, they will earn the $500 for winning the week, as well as claim the $300 bounty.
SlayerS is the fourth team to win the IPL Team Arena, and they have earned themselves $1,000 and a $200 bounty on their heads. Acer eSports has international superstars on the team that are perfectly capable of defeating the best players in the world. Here are their full rosters:

This week's games will be commentated by CatsPajamas, HDStarCraft, and/or PainUser
We have already invited several teams and have more in mind, but if you would like your team to be considered for the IPL Team Arena as well, please send a letter of interest as well as a description of your team and a roster to iplquestions@ign.com!
Ooo, this'll be neat, I'm really looking forward to seeing Acer in a CW. They could certainly put up a good fight too; Nerchio is a tremendous ace, and Osho and ParanOid are extremely good, but super underrated. It'll be neat to see how they hold up!
Wow, very nice! I haven't seen Team Acer in a clan war whatsoever, really interested how they do - SlayerS beat Mousesports handily, so of course I expect them to win here, but Acer should take a few games. I'd give Nerchio a chance against anyone in a BO1 and Elfi, Osho and Paranoid are also really good players.

That was vs TL. Mouz got hit with Ryung, Coca and Puzzle

Nerchio and Elfi to take games, rest will get owned.
"Last week's" match was from October, as we went into IPL 3 live event, MLG Orlando, and Blizzcon in the following weeks. SlayerS defeated mouz in that match, and you can see the specific results here: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/IPL_Team_Arena =)

I think you're right about Mondragon, but you're definitely wrong about Paranoid and Osho. Paranoid just played a sick series against MaNa in the Battle for Berlin Qualifier #2, and Osho was the runner up in Qualifier #1, and the runner up in the second Grubby Invitational. Both are quite good. That doesn't mean they can take down SlayerS, but we'll surely see better games from them than we would've if they were just a bunch of inactives.

Slayers did send out Ryung, Coca and Puzzle, who are all Code S players, but nevertheless, your point remains valid: Slayers is probably the strongest team in the world right now, especially since they have such a deep talent pool.
I do not like to count out a competitor, but I find it very hard for Acer to come up with any way to top Slayers, short of an FXO-IM miracle. Honestly even Slayers' B-team lineup looks more threatening than Acer's entire lineup.
At this point, with powerhouse teams like Liquid, Mouz, and EG already out, I do not think any foreign teams have a reasonable chance to beat Slayers (I consider FXO to be a Korean team, since their main players are all ex-fou Koreans and qxc).
I think acer might be able to take out a good amount of B teamers, but if slayers realise they are in trouble i expect some big guns, and slayers tvz..... yah gg

I would say SlayerS is a favorite over IM. All MMA/Ryung/Ganzi have very good chance beating MVP/Nestea..not to mention it's in volatile BO1..coca can snipe any protoss that IM could offer, and both Puzzle and Taeja are monsters in all match-ups and are great choice to start with. I think slayers is actually the strongest sc2 team in the world atm...

true..but i have to say all those slayers terrans are great at both tvt and tvz..
MVP needs to take SlayerS out. Either the team or the player.
But this IPL team arena is like the one true ring. Giving it to someone else just breeds a more terrifying and unbeatable monster than before and the only way to end this cycle of tyranny where one team dominates forever is to throw the entire tournament into a pool of fire.

I think SlayerS needs Alicia to start doing well again. He was a key player in their two gstl seasons where they won and I'm still on the fence about Puzzle. I also don't have confidence in anyone from SlayerS beating Nestea aside from MMA.

Puzzle's games have always been solid, and if we trust ELO rank for a second he's the best protoss at the moment. Nestea's zvt is not THAT good..let's just be honest..MMA is the favorite against him, and ryung and ganzi I'd say they're pretty even. Nestea is the favorite in a BO3, but I'd say they are 50/50 in BO1.

Sorry I don't believe Ganzi has a chance in hell to beat either Nestea or DRG. His mechanics are strong as is his control but I don't believe his decision making is as good as theirs. I also haven't bought the Ryung hype. His TvZ and TvP are pretty mediocre. He doesn't have the multitasking that MMA has when peeling Zergs apart.

GSTL prove that you don't need to be best team to win GSTL all you need is DRG(ST so close with Bomber)
Everything I've seen of Osho's play is really unimpressive, and I've never seen ParanOid and Mondi hardly ever plays, but Elfi and Nerchio are super gosu. That being said, it's SlayerS they're up against, SlayerS will probably send out a few low level players then throw in Ryung or somebody else and have them clean house. Should still be fun to watch!

It's always casted from replays. The broadcast time is not convenient for EU and to a lesser extent for KR players - you couldn't do a clan war at that time.
on the TL sidebar caldendar this is categorized as a 'brood war event' btw, so people like me who have bw calendar events filtered out, it wont appear.

Why don't both casters have a computer to watch on? CatsPJ's camera control was awful during IPL3, making PainUser try to catch things based on that seems like a bad idea. If Painuser had his own computer to watch the game, we could catch more of the action.
Lots is wildly better mechanically but constantly leaves himself open to the hail mary counters, then stims all the way home to clear it up after losing half his scv's and half his production,.

Yeah, it's kinda interesting Paranoid can compete and stay in this game purely thanks to greater strategic thinking.
I wish they would turn control groups on to normal, I like to see how players have their hotkeys setup and it's also useful for getting unit counts when casters don't go to the unit tab often.

And for a slayers terran his harass is non existent.

Honestly, I would love to see Acer suddenly pull out something awesome, but Nerchio didn't even make it close, and he's far and away their best player. And this is Lots, not Ganzi, MMA, Alicia, etc.

Nerchio really messed up early on and got too far behind. You can't judge too much based on one game. I have to agree that a win by Osho or Mondi would be quite a suprise.

What? The only players to take games off SlayerS in the team arena have been Europeans. Mind you Mouz is all Europeans but liquid played Sheth and Hero whom both lost. SlayerS have a pretty deep bench and it will be hard for any team to take then down at this point regardless of where most of their players are from.
In regards to the EG-slayers partnership I would not want to see that result in a merged team for the IPL team arena since EG already had a turn and lost, same goes for Liquid and Complexity who also have partnerships.
I do like the possibility of next season's GSTL allowing for mixed teams though since the roster would be known right from the get go.

The only koreans in nasl are Hero, Puma, Rain, and Hwansing (sorry if I misspelled). And the ones that are dominating are hero (7-0 14-2 in games) puma who is (4-1 +5 on game score) and rain is also 4-1, but a lot of rains games have been really close, and most of them have not really been all that one sided... Really nasl 2 is a pretty good tournament if you want to see how eu interacts with na and ect.
I am kind of disappointed with this line up to be honest, I mean I like the fact that they picked acer, but it just doesn't seem like they really stood a chance from the start. They have some really amazing players (elfi and nerchio come to mind), but Slayers is one of the best teams in korea with two Teamleague final victories. I don't know, I feel like if they are going to lose to a team it will be a korean one, and then that team won't really lose.. I guess we will get high quality games though, it just sucks for the foreign teams... T_T
Time for IGN to invite EG back. I don't see any other team (that hasn't fought against slayers and lost yet) that stands a chance. The Gracken and Huk alone can go toe to toe with almost anyone on Slayers. Demuslim is probably on par with a couple of the Slayers guys too so he has a decent chance to get a win.

Yeah, I don't really see any non-Korean team beating them, I don't think EU is worse than NA, I just think EU won't beat KR with latency lol, EG is the only team I see beating them, maybe if Mouz had a good run and didn't have to deal with latency they could win... but yeah, (Q)IM vs SlayerS would be fun ^^;.
SlayerS has enough players to split into 2 teams, so we can just have Boxer split the team up for a SlayerS vs SlayerS match.
Or bring in another Korean team, which will still be unbeatable by the foreign teams.
SlayerS should at least have to announce their lineup beforehand so that the foreign team can try to setup snipes for them, and even that wouldn't help their chances, just maybe prevent (or cause) more all-kills.
i wanna see mouz vs slayers or MVP-coL(<is this right? i don;t remember or is it CoL) or EG anyway i just want to see how mana/hasu nani or huk stand up to this supposedly protoss weak team. It will be sad if it takes a korean team ro beat slayers...

SlayerS already beat Mouz 5-2.
it was 5-3, MorroW took a map and ThoRZaIN 2.
anyways I dont see allot of EU/NA take the series home against slayers
Empire and Millenium have not been invited already. These two are the last teams in the top 4 EU teams with Dignitas and Mouz. I am not sure Millenium would like to play in, Empire probably would accept.
I don't see them win since the depths of SlayerS is too big and they can send sniper all day long. If the format was 5v5 pre-chosen it could be another story but SlayerS has the advantage over any team here.
Well this result was expected. They really need to put up a stronger team if they want to have a chance against SlayerS, even if SlayerS is playing their weaker players.

Idra/Huk/Puma/Demuslim are all as good as high koreans. obviously some are better then others but they could all beat almost any slayers player. Puma is a top Terran in the world(better than many of the current code S like aLive)
I don't know if they have already played, but imbaFXO is pretty strong with LoWeLy, Bratok and Strelok. Same goes with eSahara, having players such as Naama, Satiini and DeathAngel. How about Type II? How about aTn? There are so many European teams, that don't get enough exposure in scene, and are at least, if not better than Acer. And yeah, Millenium could play, Empire could play. I'm not saying that they would rape Slayers. Who could? But focussing on not only the well marketed team would certainly do good to the scene.

They just got schooled by 3 other foreign teams in their own tournament, they don't stand a chance against SlayerS.
It's probably time to invite another Korean team, but tbh I'm not sure any of them stand much of a chance against SlayerS either.
The format of EG Master was totally different. Here you have king of the hill so in my “humble” opinion EG would have here a very good chance vs any Korean team.
I disagree, only one able to get more than 1 kill is Huk imo. Idra fluctuates too much + it's bo1 and Puma got knocked out of Code A prelims first round...
Idra/Huk/Puma/Demuslim are all as good as high koreans. obviously some are better then others but they could all beat almost any slayers player. Puma is a top Terran in the world(better than many of the current code S like aLive)
You really overestimate the abilities of these players..Puma was good but not anything special now..maybe low code S level (i don't even think it's safe to say he's code S level considering he NEVER gets to qualify for it)..Huk has a below 50% win rate in gsl so I'd rate him as low code S, idra just doesn't have what it takes to beat slayers terrans and demuslim are not as good as the others.
In terms of TvT, Puma has a chance shine but he cannot take out 2 slayers terrans in a row, i just don't see it happening. And if SlayerS brings out their absolute best lineup I can easily foresee a Taeja all kill =.= So no...EG doesn't have a chance like the others.

Idra is doing pretty good recently. Did you see his games against bomber? Amazing. His ZvT is looking phenomenal. That being said, Slayers would wreck EG.

It's hard for me to rate Bomber's TvZ because when he brings his A-game he's the BEST player in the world but when he does not he could lose to any body =.= He played way too passively against IdrA. Game 3 was ridiculous and weird since Bomber clearly wanted to take out Idra with pure marines and it didn't work... I don't think IdrA can beat MMA any day, and I don't think IdrA can beat coca (who has decent zvz) or puzzle(whose pvz is very good while idra's zvp is meh..)..

Isn't Bomber TvZ only good against DRG? (and he can win with cheeses as well but not every game) I mean his play is super passive thus effective against DRG but against standart macro zerg he seems to struggle. But he is Bomber so it's still hard to beat him. But beating two slayers A terran in a row is harder

Wait, slow down. Coca has like a 22% win rate in ZvZ atm, and his ZvP is hardly untouchable. It's good, but not invincible. If anything EG should be worried about MMA or Ganzi

He is 66,67% in international events Idra is 33% in Korea You can't look at the win/loss ratio when there is so little games most of them being versus super gosu ZvZ players. His all his losses come from Nestea, Losira and Leenock, he beat DRG. The only way I can see him loosing vs EG is Puma/Demuslim, and still Coca would be the favourite against them. Coca's ZvP is not good, it's absolutely amazing: second or third in the world.

Well if you cant base it on that few games maybe you should tell why you think his ZvZ is so good...
Demuslim can beat the code b slayers players like Lots, but will get raped by everyone else. Idra plays like a genius sometimes, and sometimes he plays like a noob. Huk is solid overall, but coca can rape him ezpz.

EG is the only foreign team that could possibly take down SlayerS without it being a miracle. The 3 EG bosses can take games off of the very best, have proven it, and Demuslim definitely doesn't suck.
Of course slayers is still the favourite by a long shot, although it wouldn't be the miracle upset of the year lol.

I didn't say his ZvZ is so good, it is not as bad as the ratio suggests. I just think he would win with Idra, but I might be wrong as I haven't be following him recently and last thing I can remember was him having some troubles with other zergs..

Huk will be raped ezpz when slayers have at least 5 players are favored against him ...MMA/Ganzi/Coca/Taeja/Yugioh...not to mention Puzzle has super strong pvp.... I repeat..Huk is nothing special in code S...his winratio is below 50% since forever..

EG fail to win teams like Mouz (in more than one occasion) and Empire lol.

MMA has a losing record against Toss. Ganzi only has one race he has a winning record against. Yugioh is pretty blag despite his decent zvp. Huk has his best record in korea against zergs. Saying it would be ezpz is underestimating Huk just like you are underestimating Idra. Did you not pay attention to the last MLG where he beat a ton of top players? Where Huk also beat a bunch of top players including both top Terrans and top Protoss? Did you not pay attention when Puma beat Polt and other people? Or perhaps you don't listen to people like Incontrol who considers Demuslim to be the EG ace if Puma isn't available(probably because Huk generally shuns online overseas play) so yah... saying that EG has no chance is a bit of an overstatement. They aren't favoured but they could easily take down the top Slayers players.

I'm with you on that, but I think it'd be similar to Mouz. On an extremely good day, they could maybe, maybe take down all of them, yes, but on an average day they'd win a game or two and that'd be it. The top EG players are no slouchs, but on the whole, I think SlayerS is the stronger team by far.

MMA really hasn't played that many TvPs, I think it's a bit underrated. The losses everyone likes to cite are Sage who was unknown at the time and turned out to be pretty fucking amazing and Puzzle who went on to win Code A and ended up one of the best protoss in the world. Any games older than that happened in like March, which is 8 months ago, an eternity in for such a young game.
It will be very hard to knock Slayers off if they are taking this tournament seriously (which seems to be the case given the players they played against mouz). Even if IPL sends in a Korean team, Slayers would respond by stacking the lineup with the top players.
Btw, Cats and Painuser mentioned that next week's challenger would be aTn, but looking at the liquipedia page the team only has 4 active members. Hire mercenaries?

White-Ra Team perhaps? The only all-Protoss team as far as I know.
Team Grubby is all-Protoss as well.
Team Grubby is all Grubby Edit: If FXO can all kill IM I don't think it is outside of the realm of possibility for SlayerS to be taken down by a random team. Yes, SlayerS is heavily favored no matter who they face but they aren't unbeatable.
Of the teams that haven't played, I think Millenium has the best chance of beating them. That or TSL, IM, or MVP.

Millenium doesn't have a chance. Because right now Mille is almost only Stephano (and Feast maybe?) so he can be sniped pretty easily.

The problem is...FXO didn't really all-killed IM since IM sent out 3 noobs before sending out MVP...since it's BO1 we can't really say much.
If teams like SlayerS and IM send out their best line-up possible, I'd say there's absolutely 0 chance that any foreign team can take them down. Slayer's optimal line-up would be, depending on the opposing team, like this: Taeja/Puzzle as the starter, Ryung as Terran sniper, Coca against protoss, MMA as ace. If they send out these players, the chances for any foreign team to take them down are slim to none.
