We believe, as most gamers do, in winning, not trying! What originally began with two people who recognized the need for superior, high-quality/performance gaming gear that would give gamers a competitive edge, has grown into a global leader in gaming and entertainment gear sought after for their high performance capabilities. Fast-forward to today, and we’ve come a long way since our first glass mousepad. We have global offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing an integrated portfolio of products designed specifically for gaming. Fueling our growth is you, the gamer! While we are proud of our technology and product innovation, we are even more excited about how these products are developed to meet the needs of gamers. Many companies may claim to develop superior gaming products but few actually do. Instead, they spend countless hours with lab engineers trying to force fit a new technology with bells and whistles and mediocre functionality for the end-user. At SteelSeries, we develop our products with a small internal team and a vast network of technology partners, channel partners, game publishers, and gaming communities around the globe. We aren’t afraid of being challenged and implementing new ideas. Our main goal is to always to listen to the collective feedback of our professional gaming community. We won’t bore you with cheeky slogans, trying to underline our authenticity as gamers. We fully acknowledge that the best professional gamers in the world know more about what they want and what will make them better, than we do. We are proud to be working with our partners, but we can’t take credit for their invaluable input and feedback. Instead we tell it like it is: they help us. We want to know what works and what doesn’t. For this reason, SteelSeries creates innovative solutions that provide a competitive advantage for all gamers. Critical to our company’s success is also our reinvestment in the gaming communities and the individuals who support them. As a result, our corporate philosophy is to take a substantial portion of our revenue and put it back into the gaming community to help spur industry growth. We support our community in numerous ways, ranging from co-hosting tournaments like Iron Lady and King of the Hill, and supporting gaming competitions of all sizes, to promoting the top and up-and-coming gaming teams/organizations. Put simply, SteelSeries does not claim to invent or reinvent the gaming industry. Nor do we focus on one specific product, copy other companies or follow the crowd. Instead we leave it to you, the gamer, our customer/partner/inspiration, to decide if we are deserving of such declarations and accolades. What we do promise, however, is to remain committed to you. We will continue to work with you and the gaming community to make the best products possible and give you that competitive edge. We will continue to do our best to support the growth of the professional gaming industry and give back to the gaming communities. By doing so, we don’t just talk a good game, we win! Lol is there a reason why all the similar race peeps are in the same group or is it just accident? XD
|
How awesome would it be if fOrGG got code A on his first try? I sure hope so. We need more terrans and ex-bw pros in the GSL.
|
I saw the game where MC got knocked out. It made me cry.
So glad hes actualy going as OGS.Forgg can't wait to see him play. Love ESV can't wait for the games.

Just how the random seeding works. I'll explain it below:
Group A: #1 from Weekly #9 #2 from Weekly #12
Group B: #1 from Weekly #10 #2 from Weekly #11
Group C: #1 from Weekly #11 #2 from Weekly #10
Group D: #1 from Weekly #12 #2 from Weekly #9
Edit: I just want to point out this is 1: A Korean tournament 2: with only 2 Terrans.
Yeah hell has frozen over......

More Terrans in GSL? 0_O

Ok got all 16 players 100% confirmed, just one change of FXO.Gumiho replacing FXO.Oz
|
Go ForGG! Claim your Code A spot!

This is going to be epic. Can't wait to see games, especially forGG!

Just fyi, this event will be kicking off tomorrow, just waiting for Orb to get off his plane from MLG to figure out the exact times.

Awesome! 3/16 terran, I like those odds ^^

More Terrans in GSL? 0_O
More terrans in code A is not a problem imo.
|
Sometimes, randomness makes cool stuff with groups :D
|
Also here is the map pool for the event, I will add them to the OP as soon as I get the graphic made. All ESV maps used are the newest versions of each map:
Map Pool 2 player GSL Dual Sight GSL Daybreak ESV Sanshorn Mist AE ESV Sungsu Crossing AE
4 player ESV Katrina AE GSL Antiga Shipyard ESV Ithaca
|
Dual Sight ;(. Rest of the map pool looks sick. Always love Katrina.

Groups are all picked! They are as follows! get hyped, Group A is tomorrow!

i'm actually surprised by the number of Terran qualifiers. Only 3?

Interesting groups. Annyung came out to snipe Zerg in GSTL wonder if he will continue his performance and maybe Coca can get some ZvZ practice.

I feel like ForGG and Taeja count as like... 8 terrans :p.

Does Code A go to top-ranked non Code A player or do you need to finish top 1 (or say top 3) to get the spot?

Code, fucking, A! is on the line.
ForGG Fighting :o

Group D actually turned out pretty hilariously. ZvZ madness.
It'll be very interesting to see Group A tomorrow. TaeJa should be able to take 1st place with two Protoss to snack on. I don't think we've seen ForGG's TvP, he's played mostly TvT so far. Hopefully he'll be able to make it out.
Edit: Yeah, I don't agree with Dual Sight either. Rest of the maps look great though!
|
Why do you guys still use dual sight >_>? Hopefully it's removed for the next finals.

guiness record for tournament with the least number of terrans ?

It's a decently balanced map that also has some other redeeming qualities. Mainly it has a lower average game length then most of the other map, so it allows more macro maps. Remember these tournaments take some time to run, and if we had all insane macro maps it would take forever to run. Also when put into a BOX (bo3, bo5, bo7) series it opens up the option of a lot of cool rushes and cheeses depending on the series, it's an interesting mental thing as well as allows for more variety.
Also Bel'Shir Beach causes Orb's SC2 to crash all the time, so that is out for a 2p "rush map".
The stats aren't horrible either, ZvP is a bit high but not out of control: TvZ: 86-70 (55.1%) | ZvP: 51-37 (58%) | PvT: 61-67 (47.7%)

Vaild points but I don't see how that makes Dual Sight any better than iCCup Pawn Re or Xelnaga Caverns (which is quite problematic in ZvT but not as Dual Sights ZvP judging from TLPD Korea). The only real advantage over those two maps is the fact that Dual Sight is a GSL map.
The stats aren't horrible for international TLPD sure, but internaional TLPD contains too many Competo cups and mid tier cups that have a huge player skill divide. Korean TLPD on the other hand shows these stats:
TvZ: 33-27 (55%) ZvP: 26-11 (70.3%) PvT: 19-28 (40.4%)

Edit: Right now Dual Sight is the only choice. It was that or Tal'Darim Altar and we already had a ton of macro maps (Sanshorn, Antiga, Daybreak, Katrina, Ithaca), adding TDA would have made this run much much longer. Crossfire leads to silly games, and Bel'Shir crashes Orb's comp.

Don't forget that also two people advance (TL polls don't allow multiple answers T_T)

From what I understand of the format, it's top 2 that advances from the group. So, both TaeJa and ForGG can conceivably make it through into the playoffs. We won't have to decide between them, at least for now.
Edit: Diamond got to it first. T.T
Oh right, it's going to be a Bo3 series isn't it?

ForGG has a good chance of advancing. He won't beat Taeja (who will? lol). But Tassadar and Nettie aren't particularly good PvT.
Prediction for Group A:
Taeja vs. Tassadar
ForGG vs. Nettie
Taeja vs. ForGG
Nettie vs. Tassadar

Compared to ForGG, Tassadar and Nettie. Yes he is. They are all a level or two below him. Compared to everyone in this tournament? Yea he still is.
He's the favourite to win. But he isn't unbeatable. A few players have a good chance to take him out. Namely, Min, Coca, Gumiho, Puzzle and maybe some other potential upsets.

It's like MLG where the spot will trickle down to the next highest ranked person until someone is not Code A or S.

Protoss at 3/3 vs Terran at 2/2, EMPs go off, completely rolled with Terran losing 50 supply.
I guess it makes sense that Protosses beat Terrans at MLG by never taking a third base.

I think Orb was just off wrestling a tiger.
Or maybe a Taeja
I'm not sure which would be fiercer tbh.

So ForGG sent me a game of him vs Grubby on Crevasse instead of G1. Sorry about that, but as Orb mentioned, ForGG won game 1, and we will go right into Game 2.

And ForGG takes the fastest win ever in Game 1!
Joking aside, it's a pity they don't save all replays. T_T

And he does some very cool stuff. Last week he opened 5-6 reapers with speed in a medivac in TvT against sculp and could have won right there and then with slightly better micro. Plus the kid is 16...

Oh yeah fOrGG fighting! Nice solid win against the former code A runner up.

Shit just got real. No SCV Terran builds will go rampant in the ladder if people hear ForGG's name a little bit more.

Like 20 SCVs behind for the last ten minutes of the game, still doing alright. And those engagements were just such huge wins for ForGG. Just beautiful micro and while very low on workers, good macro.

Did not mean macro in the sense of building economy, meant macro as far as managing your economy well.
For what he was working with, he got exactly what he needed to get extremely efficiently.
Guess I needed to use a different word than macro, but not quite sure what to use in its place.

ForGG is new to the tournament scene and Taeja is seasoned? ForGG was busy winning a starleague when Taeja learned how to use a mouse. The only advantage Taeja has over ForGG is being a part of SlayerS. And Taeja's macro is a lot better than ForGG as far as I saw.

Experience at SC2 in itself would count for a whole lot in my eyes. I would be extremely impressed should ForGG win this one; while skills are definitely transferable between the games there are just enough differences for Code S class to shine through versus someone who quite recently, everything considered, switched over to the newer game.
Psyched to see though, ForGG's skill is going up so fast.

I would expect Taeja to win though, not been particularly impressed by what ForGG has shown so far. Feels pretty much like any other Terran.

This. Kindof a shame that TaeJa's winstreak was put to an end with such a lackluster game :/
|
does that mean forGG gets a code A spot now?
|
taeja played so badly. game 2 he got supply blocked ffffffffffoooorrrrrrever, didnt even drop a depot..maybe it was his pride. then his army was attacking rocks while his 3rd was getting shelled. game 3, his handling of the second and third banshee wasn't too good. his biggest mistake of the game tho was not moving down his ramp and sieging his natural after he saw forgg moving through the middle with his scv. he had time but he just immediately sieged above his ramp and ended up getting contained. forgg didn't even have siege at the time.

Game 1 was really bad and game 2 was just weird but I thought fOrGG played very well in game 3. It's not anything MVP-like but fOrGG pretty much made every decision correctly. Successfully setting up the soft contain, taking the gold because he knew he would be safe, timing the reinforcements to intercept Taeja's drop perfectly, keeping his marines active around the map which allowed him to snipe all of Taeja's vikings, perfect timing again when sieging up Taeja's expansion, good tank and viking positioning throughout the whole game. None of these things are exciting or new, but you need these kind of strong fundamentals to become a great player and so from that game fOrGG showed he has them.
Oh and it seems PvP is still horrible.
|
Really bad micro by Lotze.
|
And now comes the moment of truth - can Tassadar make the miracle and knock out Taeja? I believe!
|
ouch Lotze that was painfull. Not rebuilding a cyber core for nearly 4 minutes is a pretty harsh mistake
|
omgomgomg, it might, it might be happening for real xD
|
|
|
Tassadar going to win for sure. I remember him doing the same thing against Keen in the GSTL, and it's kind of annoying to deal with unless you get medivacs really fast.
He is very patient with his blink micro here.
EDIT: Taeja's thankful for liftoff now
|
Wow, Taeja with such a sick comeback.
|
lol... tassadar choked hard
|
very interesting game 2. I thought for sure that Tassadar had it in the bag, but he couldn't quite bust Taeja completly fast enough. Once Taeja had 4 medivacs and a decent clump of marauders he got too cost efficient. Maybe Tassadar should have expanded behind his blink stuff instead of trying to win outright there.
|
I'm facepalming so hard now....... Tassadar had a ton of minerals, he should have sent a couple of probes around on the map the moment he saw Taeja going for the base race. And throw down a Nexus and a stargate. Grrrr
|
Choke by Tassadar, he only once warped in zealots for tanking, didn't try to expand and didn't even evacuate probes when Taeja went for a basetrade
|
Well what are the odds Tassadar goes for blink again? >.>
Gotta switch up the 1 base play I guess. Ugh.....

I have to wonder... now that you guys are partnered with GOM, will there be some influence from your side as far as the map pool is concerned? Since you're not only making new maps but having GSL quality players test them, it's only appropriate that they adopt some here and there to expand the pool they have to draw on.

Ah well, decent games as usual although I'm too tired to actually follow what's going on in the games right now. I'm just looking at the fights lol.
I'm surprised at the huge player participation with the relatively low prize pool. I guess that Code A + the exposure is nice for a lot of these players since they have so few places to show their skill.
And yet, Taeja the Code S player is the one destroying everyone every week *Edit except yesterday apparently oops.

Do we know when the semifinals and finals are?
They'll have to be broadcast before the Code A qualifiers since the top ranked player from this gets a Code A slot... right?

Pretty surprised to see Squirtle get through. I saw him get convincingly crushed by Sirius. Reading the comments, it seems like his opponents screwed up hard. Damn that Min is inconsistent.
I'm really looking forward to Group C tomorrow. Should provide quite a few good games. Even the PvP looks interesting. Puzzle had pretty solid PvP in the up and downs and InCa's PvP has pretty much always been amazing. I'll probably give Group D a miss though, far too much ZvZ for my tastes.

Squirtle should be in code A for once in his life lol

C'mon ForGG, our best hope to get terran bio nerfed!

Only if he has evolved
I don't want the winner of this spot to simply play in RO32, hopefully he should be competent enough to make it to RO16 in Code A at least.

Awesome job as always..Im seriously killing my sleep schedule to watch most of these games but it has been quite fun and entertaining! Great place for some of the non usual spotlight players showcase their talent and gain confidence.
Also Orb does a really nice solo cast. I wish this had even more exposure and more viewers tho 4k really isnt bad!

Go to about 10 mins in. It should be ForGG vs Tassadar.
It's started!

Ahh nostalgic BW music
Im going with Puzzle and Gumiho in that order for the first group today and...CoCa and another zerg in group Z ^^
|
|
Hope you guys like some of the new production stuff we will be doing today, nothing major but we got a couple things we think will help make everything a better experience. Always open to comments or suggestions .

Ahh I tabbed out just as Orb went WAOHH - what happened?

rofl Life is pretty dead right now :s he is getting miles behind. Well maybe not that much since Inca also lost a ton of mins with that funny stuff!
Well it shows how wrong I was...he was behind but not miles TT

Some great games in store , im betting all my money on CoCa, since only 3 terrans, and only 1 decent. Guy is imba in ZvZ and ZvP

Inca's 4 gate is being denied really hard :s, letting a zergling in his base was not really a good idea while trying do to a 4 gate

I find it odd that so few are posting in the "LR" during the weekly. I guess everyone is watching instead

Pretty funny Gumiho and Puzzle in same group again, like the up and down matches. I think they will win these groups again, however I hope Puzzle comes 1st this time. ^^

Yeah, the LR is usually pretty quiet. I would post more if others start to. Maybe they feel the same way and we're actually trapped in a stalemate.
Chat's decent though so I'm there, at least for now.

I turn on the weekly for the first time tonight and the first thing I see is Puzzle getting all of his HTs emp'd, nothing much has changed there then

Orb's Marauders look awful funny.
Does he have an aesthetic mod installed? If so, which one?

Puzzle played quite well, had a huge advantage from the early game tho.

Storm against marauders feel so incredibly weak, especially compared to fungal lol. Luckily for Puzzle Colossi still counter everything on ground :p

Puzzle just handled that perfectly well.

Wow, Gumiho kind-of-sort-of got completely owned.
I feel like his micro is typically much stronger?
|
|
Puzzle looked so damn strong in 2 games lol. Best defense ever in game 1. Thought he would lost in early game already. I guess Gumiho didn't capitalize that advantage well enough.

I'm more pissed at how badly Inca played now that I realized we mostly likely won't be getting to watch him PvP Puzzle.
How cool would that have been?
|
Solid play from puzzle seems enough to own this group.
|
Wow life made some pretty bad choices there :x
Gj puzzle with that stargate play that gave the opportunity to delay zerg macro long enough to build a 3rd base.
|
Puzzle seemed to know Life's aggressive style and counter it perfectly all game.
Excellent play by him so far in this group.
|

So many Protoss don't expect that nydus play. Puzzle has been playing quite solidly thus far, he'll probably be able to make it through.
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of Life's playstyle yet. High aggression, low economy with different cheeses thrown in. Have to admit it's entertaining.

I don't think the burrow was that big of a deal. As long as Life flanked from both sides he would have won the fight eventually.

man this league is the coolest i love the timeslot, casting is good and new players are interesting. have u considered having a duo cast? |
Puzzle with no upgrades and attacking into a PF hahaha.
Unfortunately, he totally deserved to lose that game x.x
Despite his sub-par micro (like just sitting in storms forever), Gumiho definitely outplayed Puzzle in that second game.
|
Always a fan of orb casting, although he's tripping over his words a bit... uncharacteristic of him.
|
I for one got hooked to this league because of Orb and his solo casting. He makes it so awesome and with just him casting you get the more serious casting with excitement and good analysis since he understand the game well and he watch these players play alot and by that he recognize the styles of the players and uses that to his favour. You get good Starcraft without any bullshit that you get from like every duo casting out there. It's like watching Sayle cast BW.

It's actually detrimental to transfer drones when you are below 16 drones mining minerals. You lose mining time but gain nothing in terms of economy.
This is something Koreans have picked up on lately.

Well first off in that game (I'm assuming you're talking about the katrina game?) he had 18 on minerals (which is why I was saying for him to transfer them, but then he put them on gas so it was fine). Secondly while your point is true for the most part, keep in mind that it's not always the case. It may seem minor but if you spread out your drones so that they are all stacked on the closest mineral patches at two bases as opposed to all being at one base, you can have a more efficient economy. Whether this is actually worth the missed mining time from transferring them is very situational though, and usually unless you really have the APM to accurately transfer them and continue to mineral stack, it ends up not working out.
However, it still gives you a benefit later in the game as well since you won't mine out one base as quickly and will get to have more economy for a longer time.
Worker saturation is something I end up putting a lot of time into thinking about, haha
|
Ha. Brackets are awesome, forGG gets bboong, a teamkill and cocas strongest match up couldn't ask for more randomness.

Don't think you should be underestimating Life, or even BBoongBBoong for that matter. Both of them are really good, the best Zergs not yet in the GSL imo.
Though if he does reach the finals, he should have the Code A spot. He will most likely be facing either CoCa or Gumi, both of whom are already Code S.
I'm not sure who I'm supporting to enter Code A. It'll be interesting to see how well ForGG does in GSL, I'm starting to become a Life fan and I can never say no to another Protoss in GSL.

So excited for the Championship Bracket! It's today so get excited and let everyone you know to tune in! ForGG just 3 steps from Code A and he can clear 2 of them today!
Just noticed ESFI did a preview of the Championship Bracket, check it out! ESFI article

Kinda feel bad that code S players can play in this tournament (although not really from a spectator's POV). If you hit a code S player and lose as expected that doesn't really mean someone else deserves the spot over you.
Also, I'll be rooting for squirtle.

On the flip side beating said Code S player and winning the tournament is cooler then just wining vs only Code B players. Finals #1 was won by a Code B player (at the time, now Code S), JJakji. It's not impossible and look no further then Taeja getting knocked out in the groupstages.
I personally like it, this tournament is supposed to be hard as well as open to all pros, so I don't see barring Code A/S players from it anytime, sorry .

Tbh, i think he gave the match away to give sirius better chance at the Code A spot.

I AM SO HYPED. Cmon Squirtle!!!! Succeed Ace and rise to be StarTale's no1 Protoss!

Come on fOrGG!! You can do it!
I will say that Diamond, you should probably refer to him as oGs.Fin since that's his name he's using for Starcraft 2. Just a tiny detail some people might get mad about.
I'm worried for him though, BboonBboongPrime is certainly a scary opponent.

Little question from a European who will sleep because he works tomorrow :
When can we expect to have the VODs ? So that I know how long I have to endure "not spoiling" myself

This is awesome news. Thanks

Whoa, fOrGG has a legit shot at taking this and the Code A spot with it.
What happens if he loses to a Code S player in the finals btw, does he get the slot as well?
Edit: answered both questions, thanks.

Winner does get Code A right? Winner OR Highest placing non-coded player, should the winning player already have Code A/S status.

Nice that ForGG plays first. I can still watch his game before going to sleep :D sad that I cant watch CoCa play tho that will probably be to late and I'll be long gone in my Z's by then....maybe not if the first games are somewhat fast :p

Think Life will crush this 6 gate.

I suppose it's wrong that I can't concentrate on the 2 good players playing, and just think about ForGG

He is in good position this game....so start working on the stream problem
|
Seems like quite a few people are having lag issues, based on stream chat. Apparently 720p works best.
Life engages badly into Squirtle's third. Loses most of roach heavy army.
Warp Prism/Zealot drop does some damage in the main.
Life's economy is still far too strong, overwhelms Squirtle with roaches.

Superior numbers from 3 hatch before pool, won that game even tho squirtle tried hard to defend in the late game!

Had to reload the pages a couple of times to make the stream work normally. Just a lot of lag the first couple of times I tried, but it all worked out after that.
I am not sure why, and the evidence is quite anecdotal, but it seems to me as if there is a very sharp divide amongst Korean Protoss players in how they play against Zerg. Quite a few of them, and notably the Startale Protoss, seem to be stuck on a quite outdated 2-base type of strategy with heavy emphasis on a 5-7 Warp Gate push. Whereas there seems to be players like Sage, JYP and others who have a different take on the match up altogether.
Squirtle just never seemed to be quite in that game. Perhaps he would have looked to be in a much better shape had he tried to focus the Corruptors when defending his third. He definitely would have lost more Gateway units, but he had an opportunity to reset the Corruptor count while retaining Colossi. Not entirely sure he would have been able to, but being stuck on such low tech while barely holding his third was not a situation from where he could hope to really recover.

Some dedicated LR'ing is always better for the thread in general. Both for those of us watching it but also for everyone who takes a peek later on.
And of course it is a boon to everyone logged on live but not able to watch the stream for whatever reason.

Life desperately tries to do some damage to Squirtle. Bad engagement with hydra heavy army, gets crushed by storms.
Squirtle advances!

Life throws all is shit against stalkers and some templars (2 storms left only)...does some nice micro splitting the hydras but it wasnt enough...Squirtle holds with ease and then moves on....
Life eventually GG's.
|
Life threw this game off, He basically threw his clumped roach/idra into storms and his infestors didn't fungal at all, he had such a good advantage, but couldn't carry it on and wasted it with bad engagements and micro. IMO
|
|
Yayyyyyyy, Squirtle! :D
Though I like Life and his playstyle, gotta say I wanted Squirtle to advance more.
|
Happy that Squirtle won! Hope he takes this!
|
That was such an odd series from Life. He doesn't seem to transition well into later tech. Didn't see much infestors even though he had the infestation pit down.
And the final game, losing the gold hatch to that void ray was a terrible terrible mistake.
Thanks for the support for the LR! Will continue to do it and try to improve, not very good at it. Lol

Hatch down for CoCa. 6 zerglings heading to Tassadar's base.
Pretty tense position for Tassadar, cannon still on the way. Great blocking from probes. Takes no damage.

Baneling bust incoming! Tassadar has a decent walloff with 1 cannon as of now.

Tassadar has a pylon inside CoCa's main. 6gate incoming... This looks bad for CoCa.

Baneling bust was scouted by a Zealot, but that hardly mattered as it would've failed regardless. 1 Cannon and 1 Forge killed before the lings were quickly deflected.

Yea, 3 base hydra should be a BO win vs stalker/sentry and he should figure he was ahead and just macro up when tass failed his pylon contain. Horrible decision making. Maybe he isn't that good and his western tournament performance was only due to his good openings and macro.

That was sloppy from ForGG. No walloff at the nat and the main.
Have to leave for class soon. Will not be able to LR the remaining matches. Hope it helped some of you.

Hrmm people said Brood war Pros like For GG would dominate.
ForGG really bad decision making; to not wall off.
I don't understand why he didn't wall off...?

He's not judging ForGG. He's judging the fanboys.
This guy, he looks really good. But BboongBboong is dynamite.

Im so surprised he's lost to double stargate ... again. >.<

i actually do this build PvZ quite a bit. was excited to see what Tassader would do differently so i could improve, but his play was pretty horrible...
no 3rd base, no storm, and floating 1.2k/1.2k...

no 3rd base, no storm, and floating 1.2k/1.2k... I like this build a lot too :D I'm a beginner protoss but I noticed this build when Tester did it 1 or 2 months ago, seems very hard to defend and it force the zerg to commit to defenses as opposed to the single stargate opening.

Never saw any of his code A games so its disappointing to hear that he did this cheesy crap in Code A too.

I tune in to see Squirtle up 2-0 on BB? Whoa. That's pretty impressive, considering Squirtle's ZvP isn't that great. Is Squirtle playing well or is BB playing badly?
|
didn't catch the first game but the second was one of the worst games I've seen from a pro zerg in a while
|
BB playing kinda weird, questionable decision making I guess? ie. double spire into no upgrade mutas against phoenix/blinkstalker/colossus (with no corruptors) :/

If Squirtle is back to code A, Artosis will explode. Oops wait, typing this I realized that Artosis will never know he's in code A unless he moves up to code S tt

Anything to limit Artosis' terrible terrible jinxing ability is good. I'll bet Sage wishes Artosis didn't know he was in Code A/Up & Downs.

Welp, BB. =/
Yay, Squirtle! Now hopefully Squirtle's PvP is up to par to take out Tassadar.

I do like Orb's no bullshit analysis.

Another protoss in Code A never hurts, hopefully it's Squirtle.

Phoenixes: Anyone want some candy? Zerg army: me!me!me!me!me!me! Protoss army: LOOOOOOOOOOL
Thanks for the games.

Orb, whether or not someone got the cancel off is completely irrelevant. In Starcraft 2, you get the same number of resources back whether you cancel or your opponent kills it before it finishes. This is true for everything, units, buildings, and upgrades.

Not buildings...

No it's not. It's only true for units and upgrades, not buildings (hence the visual cue added in the latest patch) If a building under construction is destroyed, you don't get anything back, the full cost is definitely lost if you didn't cancel it. But you're right, it's actually a common misconception that canceling an upgrade or a unit as a building gets attacked is a must-do. At most, you get back the resources earlier, but you will get them anyway as the building disappears even if the building is still researching or making its unit, and you will get 100% of the cost, not 75% as for building canceling. I think this was the case in Broodwar too.
Warpgates work the same way, if the power field disappears as you're warping in, you get 100% of the unit cost back, and the cooldown as well.
