I elaborated more on IdrA's (potential) reasoning than you quoted in your post and I think that's pertinent. As things stand with PuMa, yeah he finished his bracket, but its 1 thing to have constant play, its another thing to have huge gaps and waiting. When you have that kind of jet lag and fatigue, these kinds of gaps are murder. If you keep your energy level and activity up (I can't testify as to whether or not PuMa did), then its easier to push through. This isn't just me saying it, its friends of mine doing surgery. I've also been to conferences with 12 hours of jet lag. It would be 4PM in the afternoon local time (ie 4am for me) and I'd be almost hallucinating (though that would be kind of ironic for IdrA...). I've seen people with this kind of fatigue not remember how they drove home from work. A study at Harvard on sleep deprivation found that driving with extreme sleep deprivation is like driving drunk. Laws were changed as a result for truck drivers and medical personel in the US and Canada. | ||
