correct me if i am wrong.... white ra is going to get screwed into 3rd place in his group because he actually had to play idra and went 2-1 vs him whereas mma got a forfeit vs idra so thats a 2-0.... so basically despite actually beating idra and mma whitera will get 3rd place by a 1 game loss differential

White Ra went 2-1

2:1 vs Idra
2:1 vs MMA
0:2 vs STC

4:4

MMA went

1:2 Ra
1:2 STC
2:0 IdrA

4:4

Same differential, but the head to head goes to White Ra I'd believe.

What? Since when does 'games won' have priority over 'sets won'? I thought they look at number of sets won before number of games won? Since Whitera went 2-1 in sets and MMA went 1-2 in sets then Whitera gets priority?

I thought games only mattered if for example two players went 1-2, THEN they check at games won?

EDIT 2: These are actually from IPL 2. Again, 6 AM. Anyone?

They are coinflipping/forfeiting their way through the rest of the matches it seems, as they are only for seeding purposes. Maybe some of them will get played, who knows.

Um do you KNOW this? Or are you guessing? I assume people either at the tournament or IPL staff WOULD know (to answer your question "who knows").

I could imagine them also trying to fit them in in the morning tomorrow. I guess by the sound of it they are NOT playing any more tonight...

Again, does anyone have any info on this? Are they just going to coinflip the rest of the seeding and start with tournament play tomorrow morning? Or will they finish off the open bracket tournament first before going into bracket play?

Thanks

Guy has a point, Ra hardly got a 5 minute breather. Not only did theSTC not have to play vs Idra with an auto-win but he got to sit there and watch Whitera as he played 2 grueling series...

oh please give me a break, have you ever watched white-ras stream?

guy plays like 50 games a day, you really think 6 games in a row with 5 minute break is anything to him?

these are professionals... there used to it.

playing ladder and playing high level pro games are completly different

Idra actually made a comment about this idea of endurance last night during that awesome panel. He basically said, while tournament games are a bit more taxing on players, fans overplay the whole endurance factor. The pros do play tons of games in a row, so they are definitely used to the conditions.

it's ironic that someone like idra talks about endurance when he himself forfeit games so he can sleep.

can you stfu.
it was severe jetlag. he was travelling HEAPS with barely any rest/sleep.

No one forces him to play every tourney. He chooses to play in these so it is his fault.

If he was really that tired, why did he even bother to play his first match against White-Ra then? Other players got free forfeit wins, and because of this, bracket is messed up and white-ra is possibly going 3rd seed (forfeit wins against: mma 2-0, stc 2-0, while white-ra is 2-1)

White-Ra is 2-1: he won against IdrA and MMA.
MMA is 1-2: he only won the forfeited match.
White-Ra isn't gonna get 3rd place.

Also, stop talking about IdrA. It's so obvious his entire attitude is just made to fuel drama, and by keeping it up you just play his game.

Blaming IdrA for being exhausted after just arriving in Atlantic City from China is unreasonable. The management of the tournament is the issue. I'm not blaming them for losing the internet (this is borderlining on an act of god), but they decided to organize the schedule the way they did. They should've bumped the open bracket over and put the pools on the 2nd stream, for example. Bumping the open games wouldn't have slowed down the tournament, but not bumping did and significantly.

Ultimately, IdrA realized that he has to play well tomorrow, and that it really won't matter that much if he forfeits his games since he's not out of the tournament anyway. And not only that, in the state of mind he was in from the jet lag and sleep deprivation, he most likely realized that if he couldn't beat White Ra, he wouldn't beat MMA and STC.

edit: the fact the open is being coin flipped just shows that the current format is not reasonable even for non-jet lagged players. Too much in too little time. And man, the open's not even done. Did Machine really beat DeMuslim or was that a coinflip? If Machine plays his games all the way to the end against PuMa, they'll be up til like, what , 5-6 AM?

So while we dont have the 16 players from the open bracket seeded yet we should at lease know the 16 who made it?
