Well I take care of the invites so I Know and yes last stream was 1 of the best visited of the night so exposure is no issue indeed. Exactly what we want to achieve, getting that gamer a quality tournament with quick brackets, smooth organisation and HQ coverage

It's an online tournament, or should my sarcasm detector have gone off after the ?
2nd Batch of invites will go out on monday! I am very happy to announce we have a mystery-admirer, who as upgraded the prize-money for this 3rd pro-tournament to 1.200 euro's.
Didn't receive an e-mail yet :< Not within the invites? ow lol i mean as a viewer....Not really surprised I am not invited as a player...however I do think it will be Amusing too see me play...or pathetic just the way you want to call it
God damnitt Grubby! Can't a Starcraft 2 fan catch a break? I wanted just one weekend off to celebrate Halloween and you have to have a 64 player tournie with great invites... no respect man.
I am also very happy to see MorroW again. We need to fill up last 15 spots still, but I am confident we manage.
Will speak to White-Ra and SaSe tomorrow, both 1st minute GSS players and some others. Only 2 people not able are Stephano and qXc i believe. (Stephano deserves a break I reckon)
Questions for the stream friday: As we are expecting heavy traffic on the stream and system coming friday and all eyes need to be focussed on the Jobs at hand, we are already taking in potential stream questions.
So please if you have any good questions for both dApollo and 2GD please drop them to me any way possible.
First question I already received was for 2GD and I Lolled
Could you guys make the new invites each time bold when you add them? It is fun to search each time who are added, but would be easier when I could just see the new additions
You should totally try to get Idra to play in this tournament. He is probably staying in Europe between ESWC and RoG, so he might be interested in playing in an online event.

We've invited him to compete in all of them, he hasn't accepted yet. Maybe he'll play the next one.
In Almere, 10mins from the Studio with toogood, we will be going to breakfast and then over to the venue to prepare for the awesomeness of today! get ready!
Seems like someone took the "team usa!" joke seriously and put an american flag on Morrow in the bracket. :D
My predictions: Quarter finals: Mana vs Morrow, Strelok vs Dimaga, Kas vs Sheth, Nerchio vs Grubby Semi finals: Mana vs Strelok, Kas vs Nerchio Final: Mana vs Nerchio Winner: Nerchio
Oh shit Fenix is in this? Should be in good form, be interesting to see how he does. I'd be kinda surprised if Mana didn't make the finals, though maybe Fenix or Morrow could upset. Bracket looks sweet!
only bad thing here is that EGS is one of the worst tournaments sites so far
have to finish every round to start next for all, sign up for tournaments where you didnt sign up for no check in etc etc
i really hope they fix all this isues soon so it will be on the standard so many other tournament pages are alreay on hope in this invite its better then in the normal ones cause when everyone can only start 2nd round after 1st for all finished ... such things are not smooth !
but love it see new stuff coming just better be finish before starting

Yeah its pretty crazy that even Nerchio while playing Stephano knew he would lose Steph won 3-0 vs nerchio last time; and Nerchio is good !
Sad Stephano isn't in, I'd like to see a rematch between those guys. If Nerchio analysed his mistakes, he could do better. In their games he seemed to be in slightly better position after the beginnings but later Stephano was making better strategy choices and gained significant advantages.
such an amazing playerfield, its really a shame that ony so few viewers actually watch. commentators are awesome too, apollo has the great knowledge and 2gd is just hilarious.
i really dislike 2gd casting. he is a cool and funny guy, but having nearly no clue about this game (he said on fuck slasher he does not play the game) you cannot cast it properly.

at least apollo is awesome
i totally agree
i hope grubby casts later on, although i would love to see him go far in the tournament aswell
When I see Goody play and hear the casters say how frustrating it is to play against him I think to myself " Now toss players know how we zergs feel when playing against a terran".
Sheth wins 35 minutes game in Daybreak with the clutchiest decision making against heavily air units focused Mech, series tied 1-1. Next map is Shattered Temple.
Sheth wins Shattered temple in a 37 minute game in which Merz turtled to one 200/200 push, all Brood Lords died to ghosts but clutch banelings finished the push while a ling runby killed all Merz bases. Sheth 2-1 wins the series.

Sheth plays pretty good when he is not trying to entertain his stream. At times I was almost yelling "stop casting the game and focus on winning the game! Your stream wants you to win!"

Well Dimaga played A LOT better in game 3 than the 2 first games. Sick macro and good timings.

major is 2-0, fenix is 2-0, gatored is 2-0. Sheth is 2-0. dde lost, but lost to major.
oh, apparently you beat fenix. LP not updated.
Check the draft page. Sadly there is nobody reviewing the edits constantly so there are like 40 edits unreviewed that you don't see on the "public" page.

Oh lol never knew it worked like that xD Who can actually do the reviewing?
grubby has few phoenix and they are wondering why nerchio isnt making mutas. phoenix own mutas, whereas corruptors beat phoenix like tank beats a marine.
That's how you counter Mutas with Phoenixs (with actual micro). People complain protoss can't do shitz to mass mutas. Yet Grubby showing awesome micro plays.

He had two stargates before the mutas even popped and kept their numbers low before they hit critical mass, that wasnt 'mass muta' at all.

I really hope he gets to cast SC2 as much as other casters and never plays SC2.
no it doesn't if you compare their games recently stephano is WAY stronger. dimaga's strength is his zvz and even there stephano is AT LEAST even if not better.
If the phoenixes and the two groups of stalkers had gotten to the fray at the same time it would have been beautiful, but it worked out anyways for Grubby.
Where are they casting from? I can hear clapping in the background when the game ends so I imagine they are surrounded by quite a few other spectators.
They are casting from Amsterdam. Grubby plays in the room next to them and they have some spectators. Also stop saying the casters are drunk they've been drinking water/tea and half a beer.

They are at Grubby's house since it's his tournament. He is in the next room playing, probably has his friends over. His wife is there also, so I imagine they are clapping for him owning his own tourney

Normally i would say, come on man.. easy now. But beating dimaga, straight up.. Damn. Wasn't expecting that.Still, Naniwa, Sase, Hasuobs, MaNa.. Some good protoss players from europe

Nice one When theres no problem, just make one and throw in a little racism
On a more serious note: I saw in the brackets there were a lot of byes in the middle of the bracket.. whats up with that? (liquipedia brackets)
Sorry, I was trying to defend 2gd in a fun way.
You used humor on a german. It was not very effective.
See, you understand me :D. On the ongoing useless discussion I am still impressed by 2gd's ability to talk without knowing much and sounding confident.
On October 29 2011 08:05 ExNexu wrote: Please stop cheering/trolling for 2gd. He is the worst caster imaginable.
I disagree wholeheartedly.
Just tuned in now to this, but 2GD together with TLO has provided the most enjoyable casting I've ever seen, when casting WCG Sweden qualifiers. It's not even close. If I could choose between 2GD + TLO and any other casting duo in the world. 2GD + TLO every time.
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that Grubby has been kicking ass of late. You don't become a champion of anything without great work ethic and talent. It was only a matter of time really....
I like how Grubby sends out so many hallucinated Phoenixes while making the real things. If he shows 2 real ones, Dimaga may not even consider them to be real.
Including DT's in lategame army is actually brilliant since zerg usually doesn't have detection with the army in ZvP, and even if they do you can target down the seer. They have so high dps.
Oh yeah, I recognize this multitasking. Blade Master following the enemy army, stealing creeps. Raiders in their base, destroying towers, meanwhile you creep with your TC and grunts on the other side of the map.
Holy shit, Grubby played sooo well in that final game. He was sooo behind from that Zealot Archon failure, yet he somehow came back, that was really impressive.
Huge props to Grubby for organising, to 2GD and dApollo for casting. And of course major congratulations for Grubby for taking it down. Really impressive play, really nice to see Protoss played that strongly when coming from behind vs Zerg.
Only tuned in for the finals and just realised this was an 64 players invitational and not a 16 player one, and quite a few bigger foreigner names... grats, Grubby and Dimaga.

SO true Grubbys run impressed me so much! Beating top tier plays like Nerchio and just showcasing mindblowing play this. Grubby has turned me into a major fan his Micro and play is so beautiful sometimes It's insane. From someone I would consider E-sports legend to a mediocre SC2 player now to a a really high level foreigner so inspiring.
Grubby Fighting!
Edit: Everytime I thought 'Ohh Grubby might be in trouble, or Ohhh Grubby over extended himself here' He wins the battle with spectacular positioning and Micro, beautiful.
Had an awesome time at the studio watching Grubby paly in first person. He's become so much faster and better <3 I will put up a lot of awesome photos tomorrow.
the attention to details in Grubby's play is just so impressive, along with his map control, and really good unit control. Really, Grubby showing that he still owns!!!
Congratulations Grubby Had a blast last evening at the studio's. 2GD & Apollo did a great job casting. EGSMike and the guys organised it very well Was a great setting to watch the games there.
Was a shame I had to leave after the 1st semi final, was already 00:30 I had to drive home (which took me 1 hour and 15 minutes) =)

Oh man, wish i could have been at studio! You lucky!
Let's not forget guys like LiveZerg (aka the "unknown" dude who beat Idra at ESWC) and Feast who made it to the semis and Welmu who 2-0'd MaNa and Fenix. Well done.
And of course Dimaga who got second place. Second place finishers always miss out on the love.

Livestream re-cast of GSS #3 is on, full length show of the hilarious and experts 2GD and d.Apollo throughout sunday some great matches and great fun watching.
Should've gotten more traffic. watched the whole thing, was very enjoyable. Also would love it if 2GD took the time to learn sc2, even if his commenting style for games he doesn't know anything about is funny, his quake casting is pretty stellar.
last 35 minutes are on. mTwDimaga VS Grubby in the Finals twitch.tv/egslive

On friday we had about 14k concurrent on 5 streams. more then 3million minutes i believe. So we did OK. We offer foreign streamers the ops to grow via this it works. All in favor of growth.

Just for the record, he went 1-7 at the eswc against the 3 top-tier players he met : stephano (0-2),MaNa (0-2) and MKP (1-3). Grubby will eventually reach the top but right now it's way too soon, he has to score results on a more consitant basis against the top players.

Well, he might not be at the very top at the moment like you posted, but he beat Nerchio (online! nerchio is a fcking beast online), Dimaga (3-0), got 1 game against MKP (ok, mech, but still). He took down Harstem, Bischu, TLO and Morrow. He probably isnt at the very top with peopel like Mana and Stephano, but he is very close to reach it. And with his experience I am quite sure we will see him winning some major tournaments in the future (2nd IeSF, 4th ESCW, 3rd Copenhagen Games, 1st GSS 3, quite some accomplishments!).

The 1-8 was 9 bo3's and not map scores. But sure, maybe I exaggerated a tad with the "top tier". Maybe. His improvement is still huge tho. ^_^
