Funtime is over, start behaving in here. You all know the rules and this isn't the place for some kind of comments or discussion. Keep it to the games and keep balance, the casters and meta discussions out of here.

Pretty please, with minerals on top.

So who is better?

Huk won Dreamhack and Homestory sure but that was three months ago. These days he loses to all sorts of random foreigners and stays in Code S on the virtue of always picking really easy groups every season then losing to the first good player he meets.

Puzzle has won nothing at all and looks very middle of the road.

Hongun is always a laugh but he's so gimmicky and wins games mostly of the back of being unpredictable.

Genius is plain bad, he survived in Code S last season by Void Ray cheesing every game.

Naniwa has no results in months and months.

Tassadar, JYP and others are still messing about in Code A.

MC at least made the NASL and IEM finals even if it was by beating foreigners.

There's just no good Protoss players right now.

If you were to list to current best 20 players in Sc2 right now I wouldn't choose a single Protoss.

White-Ra am cry.

Mana has also had a good run lately. Hero as well.

If you don't play in GSL you aren't worth mentioning in the best of anything. Mana and White Ra are not even close to Code S level. Hero is playing in Code A for the first time this season and has no results about Koreans.

I strongly disagree.

Fortunately you're wrong.

Just like you can't be a top basketball player without playing in the NBA or a top footballer without playing in Italy, Spain, Germany or England.

If you don't play in GSL you do not belong in a discussion of top players.

Pele never played outside of Brazil. Top players are the ones who play at their best on an international stage, not in a particular league.

/offtopic.

The Brazilian league was amongst if not the worlds best when Pele played in it, although half their season was just the Rio State league.

Comparison is also dumb because The World Cup was the highest level of play (not really anymore). International tournaments are nowhere near as good in Sc2 as GSL. Therefore GSL is what matters.

Again the Olympics in Basketball don't mean shit because they're not high level, the NBA is what matters.

This is an incredibly short-sighted argument. GSL isn't the measuring stick of whether a player is good or not, the measuring stick is whether they can play well against others of top caliber.

This is like saying PuMa is nothing because he was never in GSL but still managed to kill MC, July, Nada and Sheth, all of whom have been in GSL.

Puma will never be the best Terran in the world though until he proves it in GSL. You can be good elsewhere, but you will never be the best.

I did not say he was the best, but I did say he was a top player. There is a difference, and his play against noted top players has reflected that.

The only replays they have ever released are the GOM All-Stars Invitational ones from last year, and I doubt they will ever release any more replays.

Don't be facetious, Zerg players didn't collectively work out something new: Infestors were buffed and warpgates were nerfed.

Not true. A lot of Zergs most notably the worlds two best Zergs Losira and Nestea don't use Infestors in ZvP for the most part.

Yeah. People are still learning.

Terran learned their race first, Zerg next.

It's just that the losses for P have been so glaring that my gut tells me, even without pointing to stats, that there is something wrong with the race that may require more than just waiting will the players figure it out.

I keep on saying this. We need Zealot Cleave!

I wasn't comparing with Basketball or SC2, I was talking purely about football. Hence the /offtopic.

Plenty of players have been said to be lesser because they never managed to play at their best for their country or in big continental games. Ronaldo, for example, is often said to be someone who bottles it in big games, which is why a lot of people think Messi is the better of the two.
What? Ronaldo was our main player during 2002 and holds the record of most goals scored in world cups. Don't mistake his injuries for choking.

That maybe almost true but as the most important SC2 tournament with Blizzard's direct support, losing viewership due to racial imbalance (perceived or otherwise) will make them at least take a second look at the situation.

Well, that's pretty hardcore even for me (I don't like him either) To be fair I did not like his abusive style throughout late last year and early this year. Sometime in the middle of the year he changed his style to a much more solid and less cheesy one, so I was on the verge of changing my opinion on him.

Then this happens. His play was downright embarrassing which can't be explained by imbalance. My guess is new-found wealth and pretty girl friend is it - and you know what, it is OK. Everyone deserves a life.

seems like quite a fair update for the upcomming patch. Would add a lot to the game.

I'd think so. Terran has the supply depot mechanic despite being able to wall with buildings that they can lift off and bunkers they can salvage.

Rofl. What's next. Zerg buildings auto-burrow?

T_T. A Sad day for Protoss indeed. Basically the first true Protoss "GoD" Gets knocked out by some no name Zerg because he plays Zerg. Hope MC can figure his way through the match up (So all of us finally can)

Everyone uses Infestors now. The only time you don't is when you Roach/Ling all in. Sometimes Mutas, but standard play, even for Nestea and Losira, includes infestors now. Yes, Losira pioneered the refinement of the Roach/Ling all ins that have also contributed to P's problems in PvZ these days. That was definitely a metagame shift that didn't rely on a major patch change, it was similar to SlayerS's blue flame hellion revolution in that it was a new way for Z to punish the greedy expand builds that P had been using to overwhelm Z for such a long time.

Speaking of infestors, take a look at DRG's ZvP. A few months ago he started experimenting with an extreme infestor style (yes, the style of that very popular streamer) and has since adapted it into a very strong ZvP. He's very impressive in that matchup. Paired with his excellent ZvT, it's really scary.

Protoss for some reason or another has never been that popular of a race in Korea compared to especially terran but even zerg.
