Best TvP by far maybe

I'd put SeleCT's TvP over Thorzain, but Thorzain has the best overall mechanics with Terran that I've seen from a foreigner.

Your joking right? Thorzain does not have good mechanics. His macro is fine, but is marine/tank control is so bad, which is kinda why he slow pushes, because he doesn't have the apm to do a qiucker attack (every game he tried to do a tank marine push he failed cus he made so many wrong things, like not having spotters, and bad marine splitting).

Major has much better mechanics than Thorzain.

Major? lol
Why are you even bringing him up in this context

Because he really does.. just watch his stream and be surprised..

When Major wins something like TSL3 or gets second in an invitational like this one we can start comparing.

So you can only judge if a player is good or not by his tournament winnings?

I think tournament winnings are a more reliable way to determine player skill than arbitrary "he's really good, just watch his stream"-type statements.

They used to do in the past iirc. No idea if they'll release them for this tournament but I certainly hope so.

The Thorzain vs DRG game on Antiga was thrilling ! The poor marines had to do run ceaselessly to catch DRG's mutas.

Because Bisu never won an OSL and never will.

Jaedong would be if there wasn't a Flash.

Yes i agree it's more reliable but for example Hero hasn't won any major tournaments but when you see him playing you know he is really good that's what i mean.

He's placed highly in tournaments while playing well. Just like the original statement said ThorZain getting 2nd in this tournament as an example of skill, not a 'winning'

jesus christ yes.

or to be fair to the man you were quoting, you judge if a player is good or not if he places high in tournaments and/or wins them. which Thorzain does. putting him down there with Princess is eligible for ridicule

Did you even read the original post? we were comparing mechanics, and it's obvious and expected to many that ex-BW pros like major would be better at it than Thorz.. it has nothing to do with other aspects of the game...

Thorzain has adequete mechanics but his main strength is known to be his preparation and a variety of solid, well thought out strategic builds. The point about Major having better mechanics may indeed be true given he was pretty damn good at BW, Thorzain is a better overall player to my knowledge though

Hero vs DRG Finals

Hero winning 3-2

Thorzain to finals with ease since he has time to prepare against toss much more that hero has time to prepare against terran.

And i think DRG will eat Rain alive if he manages to beat lucifron since even idra has beaten rain 3-1 in IEM..
In the finals DRG will beat thorzain.

Wow you got it right.

Im a fan of ThorZain but I must say that DRG lost his games on lack of expands and upgrades ( the latter atleast in the first game). Compare the series and DRG was much less 'expand aggressive'. Which resulted in his lack of tech switch able.

EDIT: BarCraft RETRO Stockholm was awesome! Looking forward to future BarCrafts. ! ;D

That's actually DRG's main style. Not to mention that as the casters pointed out, the games he lost were close spawns, which is a much harder position to take a fast 3rd on (I mean really, close spawns Tal'Darim with a T and you want him to take a fast 3rd? What? Such a huge risk).

Wanted to go to Valencia and attend the tournament live, but things came up and I couldn't make it. Just got done watching the VODs: amazing event, amazing tournament! Gratz Dreamhack for pulling it off once again and DRG for winning.

Oh, and Thorzain Hwaiting!!! Amazing how close he came to beating DRG.

Oh how I love you 2GD. More entertaining than the games, and the games were quite decent.

<3 DREAMHACK!

Also, truly good casting. Both delivering what they were there for. Wish you two would cast code A and MLG
