Group A. Mvp will advance. Clide will probably be second. It's unfortunate that both ensnare and noblesse are in the same group since I think they both deserve to goto up/down match. Group B. This is the also a very unfortunate group because everyone deserves to advance and no one should goto up/down. I'd say bomber and ryung will advance. Hard to say which of MKP or puzzle will goto up/down Group C. Nestea MMA will advance. Keen will goto up/down Group D. I hope HuK and Zenio advances. HuK has the skill to beat NaDa, he should be capable of beating terrans like Virus and asd, both of which deserves to goto up/down. Zenio.. this guy impresses me every time. I always think he's in trouble but he always manages to win, even against players like Mvp. Group E. This one is hard to call. HungUn has caused upsets too many times and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls one off again. I'd say LosirA will advance with either July or Ganzi going with him. Group F. I don't know this group very well hard to say, but it's definitely the group that doesn't feel like it has any threatening players. Group G. I'd say Polt and DRG will advance. Killer will most likely lose to Polt. Group H. Top and Coca will advance. Neither aLive nor supernova's play feel inspiring.
So I'd guess ro16 will be 2 protoss 7 zergs 7 terrans. Despite playing terran myself, I'm rooting for the zergs and protoss to advance to have an interesting GSL october.

On the other half there is July, Losira, Ganzi, Polt, and DRG. They're the guys from that side who probably have the highest chance of getting to the finals, and out of them, it's hard to imagine them putting up a good fight against anyone likely to make it out of semis on the other side. DRG vs MMA finals could be close, but I don't know that he'll even make it that far. Polt could hold his own in the finals and even win as he demonstrated in the ST finals. Losira and July have been there and gotten destroyed by players of the caliber that the other side of the bracket holds, and Ganzi is a bit of a wild card for me.
Holding out hope for MMA vs DongRaeGu or Polt.
This is all assuming that things go as they should and that there isn't another underdog fluking his way to a finals...(there will be).
I don't understand, do they arrange by top half and bottom half of the brackets? If so, then why if Nestea gotten 1st in his group last season, he would have been able to face MVP in the finals? 1st in his group was MMA, who lost to Polt, who lost to TOP, who met MVP in the finals.
I would just like to note that that entire SlayerS team was hilarious tonight, they seemed like such an adorable dysfunctional family. I swear group nominations bring out the lulziest in everyone.

I think it's something like this:
(A1 = first place of group A, A2 = 2nd place etc) ro16: A1 vs B2, A2 vs B1, C1 vs D2, C2 vs D1, same for the other half ro8: Winner of A1/B2 vs C1/D2, and A2/B1 vs C2/D1, same for the other half ro4: A1/B2/C1/D2 vs E1/F2/G1/H2, A2/B1/C2/D1 vs E2/F1/G2/H1 Finals: winner of the above 2 groups.
As you can see, even tho players are on the same side of the bracket (A/B/C/D or E/F/G/H), they can still meet in the finals. So just cuz they're on the same half, it doesn't mean it will be a crappy finals.
edit* so for the case of Nestea, he could of faced MVP in the finals as A1 vs B1, but since he got 2nd place for group B, he had to face MVP in ro16 as A1 vs B2
I feel like this is Bomber's season. He's finally going not BM so hard and take the title. I also feel like a lot of terrans are going to lose in the group stage. Everyone is going to be practicing their XvT like crazy so I feel like the zergs are gonna have some sick new builds and the protosses will find a better way to deal with 1/1/1.
This format would work if players were actually smart and picked players they are better than in their groups. It'd be like a pseudo seeding. But now everyone picks people they are equal to or worse than to show off and they end up killing eachother before later stages. This is why our finals are so lopsided.....
Swearing aside, Jinro's behavior was just downright disrespectful. Even if he wasn't aware of the rules his reaction was to get angry instead of the profuse apology for "creating a situation" like a Korean would. Being a foreigner myself, I understand his reaction, but I think Jinro has been in Korea long enough that he should know this and I wish he had handled himself better. He and Huk are not making the best impressions of foreigners. And before you ask what Huk did, he was not available for a second code S group selection and put his friend Jinro in such an awkward position from the start. You might not see it that way, but as someone who has lived there, I assure you that's how most Koreans will see it. Huk better be at the next selection himself or they are just going to pick his group for him.

I can only hope. I don't want anymore repeat champions, if only because you know that as soon as NesTea or MVP win another one, people will start crying, "Bonjwa!" at the stars.
Ideally, I want Bomber to win. My dark horse pick for this GSL is Taeja though. If he gets out of group stages, he'll go far.

People have been putting bomber on the same pedestal as mvp saying he'd win a title like 4 months ago. The hype is getting old. The only terran on mvp's level is mvp, end of story. Bomber is on the same tier as mma, mkp, nada, polt, top, etc. (basically all the terrans a tier below mvp). I wouldn't put it past mkp, puzzle, or ryung to knock out bomber first round.

Stop hating on Bomber, and stop being defensive for MVP's sake. Nobody's saying he's on the same tier as MVP -- the comment you quoted didn't even mention MVP at all -- just that he's a guy who could possibly take a championship. That's all. He's dangerous, and people are acknowledging that.

I don't hate on bomber, I just hate all the comments that keep saying he's gonna win the season. He's a contender of course, but every season people make it sound like he's gonna take it all. Getting old. Though he's still dangerous of course.
