I love how DTs work. You get totally outplayed and still get to flip a coin for like a 50/50 chance to win.

?

Trickster screwed up. JYP capitalized.

Remind me again how player A screws up, and player B notices it and takes advantage of it to win = player B outplayed?

Trickster owned him the whole game then made one mistake. Jyp made lots and lots of mistake and two good decisions and won the game. That's DTs for ya.

He won because trickster made AWFUL decisions, not because he made good decisions himself, what he did was 100% obvious.

Trickster made -a- horrible mistake. If the game was well designed -a- mistake wouldn't just negate playing well the other 90% of the time. I'm saying the very nature of being able to make a DT and just negate not doing as well as the other guy is stupid and makes the game inherently coinflippy.

The rewards for stuff like clutch DT's is way too large. Even if technically balanced, it's just kind of bad design.

It is designed to punish greedy players that skip detection (even less of an excuse for Trickster considering he was ahead)

I agree that it should punish not getting detection, I never said anything to the contrary, I think finding this loophole in your opponents build should give you an advantage, not plain win you the game. Like I said, I think the rewards for doing this is way too large.

Like... chess? You can play brilliantly all game, be ahead pieces, but by ignoring the strategic positioning of your pieces be checkmated due to a single (giant) mistake. You saying chess is a bad game? LOL. Your reasoning makes no sense: if you make a mistake as big as the one Tester made, you deserve to lose.

Don't compare chess to SC2. One is a game of complete information and one is a game of incomplete information with a micro aspect. These games aren't comparable.

Complete or incomplete information makes no difference in this case. In this case Tester basically had complete information: the only possible way for JYP to come back into the game was for Tester to make a giant error. The easiest way of "forcing" a giant error is to make DTs. Tester was well aware of this and built a cannon in his base. Yet, instead of playing it safe, he went ahead and made the giant error anyway by moving out without detection.

The crux of my comparison with chess wasn't that the games are the same, but that in both games you can lose due to a giant error, despite being (quite far) ahead. It's your right to not like that kind of game and say that the punishment for the error is too large, but saying that it makes it a "bad game" is, imho, an untenable position, because almost all the classic games play like this (including BW).

JYP should hide a nexus somewhere, I think. He's probably going to lose either way, he's too far behind in supply and expensive units.
This post is clearly not a hurr, as you can see from the graph, the durr never intersects with the derp.

Is there a reason why JYP is playing. Shouldn't the loser of the first game play again? Just like last night.

Nah, this time it's not about who goes 0-2, but about who goes 2-0.

ahh yes didn't think of that, cheers

I believe he wanted to be unseiged when it was just the immortal because otherwise it wont fire fast enough to kill it since it only can take 10 dmg per shot.
