MC picking MVP for his group was genius strategically. He was hoping for MVP or Nestea to knock each other out early on so MC would have more points than MVP and get the Blizzcon spot, while also making his road to the GSL finals easier.
However, MC never anticipated that he would lose his group. It was a bold strategy choice, it didn't pay off, but he will recover.

How did it make sense? He picked MVP because he wanted a challenge AND chose a group where there was a very good chance he would meet Nestea in the ro 16. If he wanted to secure his blizzcon spot he would have taken an easier route than the one he set himself up with, as a third GSL title would have secured his spot.
I play protoss and a fan of MC, but when you play with fire and you get burned....well you deserve it.

If MC had taken first in his group which was obviously a possibility, he would have had to face Nestea in the ro of 16. That would easily have been his toughest match to date and getting knocked out in the ro of 16 gets you less points than say ro of 4.

It made sense, and he was favored against everyone in his group(maybe not polt). It was risky, but it did make sense. If MVP made it far enough even if MC won he wouldn't have had more points IIRC.

Well I see Losira beating MC, then MC beating the other 2 Z's. Then it'll come down to whether or not MC can hold jjakji's 1 base.

Which means he didn't take into consideration that Nestea would take 2nd in his group which happened, so his plan wouldn't have worked even if he won his group. There were a ton of different possible paths from picking MVP to be in his group and the majority of them don't benefit MC at all.
Also, if MC met MVP in the finals and MC won, he would have more points than MVP.

His plan would've worked because the second place in Nestea's group would face the first of MC's group. And if Nestea took 1st, he would've faced the 2nd of MC's group (which could've been either him or MVP).

Check and Losira to Code S! You have Jjakji at 3-1 but he lost three times...also why would MC and Jjakji be played when Check and Losira are already through...just me or does this not make any sense?

rooting for losia and MC
there's only one terran in this group, i hope he doesn't make it through

Yep, it does not make sense!
Don't mind it. It just means I think and Losira are in it to EAT IT UP RAWR *purr*

Please keep your Code S-spot, MC! Losira and jjakji are sick good, though, but I need mah ObamaToss in Code S, dammit!
|
Meh, at least this time I won't turn off the vid after a 1-1-1.
MC Fighting!!

Who wouldn't hope MC to go on? And why would anyone hope jjakji to advance? Nothing personal, I've never seen a game with him, but there's 17/28 terrans in S, I'm almost hoping mkp won't make it to have one less tvt ahead.
However, I'd think losira has to be favorite to get out of group, and to win MC. MC might still lose to one of the zergs, or jjakji, so there's clear possibility he won't make it. I'm hoping he gets 3-1 and gets through though, with losira.

Hoping for Losira and Kyrix to go through. I think MC has his work cut out for him and will have to be on top of his game to stay Code S.

Hmmm... I somehow doubt it. Really hope he wins tonight and gets right back into Code S! Mvp didn't win code A True dat. He cruised through it up until Bomber... Wish MVP won it. $1500 is pocket change for MVP
Not really. Mvp has not won that much money. MC on the other hand has won the most out of any other sc2 player, playing sc2.

I hope MC makes it, but I fear he won't. I think MC's problem is that other players have caught up to his micro, and he's taking some bigger risks to try and win games.

He wanted to give his fans amazing games and by pairing up such high level players, it was bound to happen. This is one of the reasons I love MC. Not everyone just wants to sneak their way to victory, they want to test their skills.
