If you think about it though, siege mode doesn't make that much of a difference. Unless your opponent is going stalker heavy (which is contingent on you getting banshees), or quick colossi, siege mode doesn't really help that much against a zealot heavy army. It can actually hurt your marines more than anything else.
Oh, and MVP only got siege mode against HuK, because he knows HuK loves getting a lot of sentries in the early stages of the game.

Siege is more for early sentries than any of the above.
Siege range means they can't forcefield their ramp when you push up and helps strengthen the contain type 1-1-1.
