With the announcement of Intel Extreme Master's New York Comic Con event in season 6, we'd like to share the details on how to qualify for North, South, and Central America. More details on the New York Comic Con event can be found here
A total of 8 players from the Americas region are eligible to qualify for the NYC Comic Con event. Every player must qualify as there are NO INVITES this time around.
Americas Qualifier Information
8 players will be determined by 3 separate Qualifiers. You need to achieve 1st -3rd place in the first two qualifers and 1st-2nd place in the last qualifier to qualify for IEM Global Challenge New York Comic Con. Here schedule for each qualifier:
-Top 3 Qualification slots at IEM Qualifier 1 - September 10th 2011 at 8:00 pm EST
-Top 3 Qualification slots at IEM Qualifier 2 - September 14th 2011 at 8:00 pm EST
-Top 2 Qualification slots at IEM Qualifier 3 - September 17th 2011 at 8:00 pm EST
You have only 3 chances to qualify, so be sure to try in every single cup!

Hi. Caster here. I asked him in game if I could cover his game live, he said he did not like being casted live and requested I cast his replays. (100% understandable)
We (co-caster and I) moved on to Strifecro vs Gatored after being told this. During which my stream shit itself ^^.

I think it's pretty bad decision to take 8 NA players and only 4 EU players for this tournament since most decent NA players are going to MLG and most gosu EU players are at home that weekend. T__T

Its not a decision based on what other tournaments are happening at same time. Its based solely on the fact the host nation (in this case the united states) gets the most slots in the tournament.
Thats why IEM china has mostly chinese slots and IEM gamescom had mostly european slots.

I still feel like a decision could be made when it was made clear that most players preferred MLG. Personally, I would rather watch IEM that weekend but if the player pool is going to be this poor I'll probably only watch the Mana/Elfi games T__T

Is the final qualifier tonight or tomorrow? The thread here says 17 Sep, 8:00 EST, as well as on the site some places, but it says check in isn't until 18 Sep at 8:00 EST. Clarify?

The time issue has been solved, it is definitely at 8:00 pm EST tonight. It is the final qualifier people, so sign up!! Your last opportunity to make to IEM NYC and represent the Americas!

How would one go about watching the IEM New York stream? Will it be own3d.tv again? Their quality was somewhat low. Any way to get a higher quality stream?
I'm just trying to prepare a backup for my barcraft event in case anything happens with the mlg site/stream.
