Stop with the stupid TT1 discussion, this topic is no place for it and you can all express your likes and dislikes in a more respectful and constructive manner. ~Nyovne |

I can't count how many times I've seen ultras called useless and july shows thats far from the case. actually it is because the terran was caught completely off guard (for the counter attack) and so he never had the position to defend against what july had

Some people don't realize that sometimes, as a zerg, knowing when to not make units for a while is a very useful ability to have. Otherwise when your greater spire/ultralisk cavern finishes you end up without the resources and supply to make anything. Sure you can sacrifice a bunch of lings but you're giving your opponent more time to prepare in that case.

Does being on the same team as an opponent give you a sort of advantage over that opponent?
Like, people are commenting on how MVP roflstomped Nestea and Nestea > July so => MVP wins against July. I imagine, though, that MVP practices against Nestea quite a bit and so has more insight into how he plays than, say, he would with July.
Of course that works both ways, but I dunno... I think I just want to feel like July has more of a chance than my gut tells me he does

I guess what I'm trying to say is that MVP stomping Nestea is being taken as a sign of MVP's TvZ being amazing, whereas really it might just be that his TvIM(Z) is amazing
|
I want to be wrong cause I'd rather have so many more games but I just feel like MVP is just gonna roll through July and TOP/Polt.
Hope the series are close. You can have a good finals someday GSL, maybe it can happen this GSL?

Baneling mines? Infestor play? Ultralisk tech switch? They are all there)

Its Nestea's weakest MU.

You cant compare this metagame to the first fricken season! so much has changed, but he was revolutionary in his time

MVP didn't really roflstomp. He outplayed game 1 by being greedy and Nestea's passivity, and game 2 was just abusing map terrain/Nestea going hatch first even though he loses to 2 rax on that map all the time. Sure, Nestea is better than July, but that's because no one can match his performance against zerg and protoss. Actually, I would rate July's ZvT as a bit better than Nestea's; what he lacks in mechanics he makes up for in punishing greedy terrans and aggressively trading with opponents.

ty july ! no tvtvtvt its once was my favorite mirror matchup but i have seen it too much

yea zerg is the only race where u can stop production without having it hurt u, ur banking mins but ur pooling larva at the same time so it doesnt really matter when u use the larva(unless u go over the larva limit per hatchery).. its actually alot smarter then just wasting ur eco away uselessly, i think one of julys strongest strenghts is his unit compos and how much thought he puts behind wat he makes

The game he won was a silly Thor rush strategy by MVP. The other two were standard macro games and fairly one sided. DRG didn't really look any better than Nestea in them.

Julyyyy go win the whole thing please, i'm sad for HuK but this was to be expected

Not quite, it's still sub-optimal to not spend your larvae because your hatcheries automatically generate up to 3 then stop automatically generating, so if you're not getting yourself under that cap you're missing out on free larva.
