Right. He went through the Code A qualifiers, he didn't get a spot from MLG. I distinctly remember some of his matches - one was against oGsVines.

Well he still has a chance in the up/down matches. If he dodges terrans, I think he'll have a pretty good shot.
|
it looks more likely that mkp will not win the up and down matches. his tvt seems like his weakest matchup and there are always more terrans in the up and down matches. and if he doesnt have to play against a terran he'll have to play alicia, mc, losira. etc
|
I wish gom didn't like best of 1 series as much as they do. I rather have longer series so that the better player can more consistently win.

Agreed. Theres so many good terrans any race that's leftover is sure to be a challenging opponent since they mostly fight other terrans.

wow mkp coming in second again?^^ what a tradegy and I feel the same as a few others here, that he won't have it easy in the up and downs... especially in tvt

In the Up & Down matches they do at least play against everyone (except where it makes no difference), so it's entirely fair unlike in the Code S ro32. Groups are also better than the previous Up & Down system, where you could really easily be unlucky with who you play against. The only way they could really make it better is having them be bo3s, and then the Up & Down matches would take a very long time. I'd be fine with that, but I doubt they would be.

it was an awesome final - lookin forward to see Ganzi in code S
|
I'm a huge MKP fan and I am of course disappointed with the loss because he was ahead in 7set I'm sure he'll be back in Code S though. His play has improved much over this season including his TvT. And idc what zerg opponents he faces because MKP very rarely falls to a zerg and protoss he can just marine tank all in so I'm only worried really about TvT but I think he's improved. I like his chances in the Up and down

yes ganzi made mkp get another silver
|
I really thought that MKP had that last game - I think I'll go cry now.

Another silver for our sc2 yellow MKP.............

Boxer really knows how to find talent.

Re-reading the LR pages 60-64ish is really awesome, thanks guys for contributing... it really captures the swinging emotions of that game... the feeling was as exciting as a real sports match. This is a VOD that i'd love to re-watch.
In hindsight, I think that offer of the Orbital command by Ganzi at his natural was a deliberate ploy to buy time for the game changing Banshee, so that MKP wouldn't come up the ramp to finish him off. If that was the case, that was one of the most important under pressure decisions I have seen in the game yet.
