Kas looks strong as always, so the series will probably be very close. However , going by Socke´s games in group play and the fact that PvT is his best MU, I believe that Socke will come out ahead. In the semis would wait either Puma or Nerchio (their series is also really hard to predict). Both players are defenitly doable opponents IMO. Puma looked kinda shaky against Mana, so I can see him going down against a Protoss of the same calibre. Against Nerchio Socke has already shown online (Shoutcraft Inv.) aswell as offline (Bnet Inv. EU) that he has the right tools to take him down. Unfortunately, in the finals he would probably face a Toss (I don´t see Select taking out MC and Mana, unless he steps up his game quite a bit, same with moonglade) and his Mirror is not on par with his other MUs and has often been his downfall in big tournaments.

Moonglade took out huk but I guess I didn't see mana vs stephano. Appears mana has stepped up his game. His PvZ sucked a few weeks/month ago. It's gotten way better. Huk and Moonglade both played terribly but Huk managed to play even worse. As someone else said Huk lost 2 games and Moonglade lost 1.

I can see him lose downright to some silly timing because he isn't prepared or doesn't know it / how to read it. But if it goes into a management style of game, i clearly favor nerchio. Stephano demolished puma really really hard on shattered temple, he's really really beatable. Yes managment game is his strong asset. Ill dare to say that who will be first to dictate the pace of the game wins the series. Its often overlooked but sometimes its the most important aspect of the game, if 2 aggresive players meet(relatively speaking), the one who dictates game has upper hand. And ironically the biggest factor on that lies outside of the game which are nerves and winning 1st game is vital for it.

His TvZ relies on dealing lots of early harass dmg (ie not MVP style), and just never gives the feeling of "omg, there is literally nothing his opponent can do". In NASL, his vZ certainly relied a lot on huge surprise with harass, either with lots of hellion, banshees or more hellions. The one game that went sort of normal by TvZ standards was vs July on Taldarim and it wasn't even close. His vs P was up and down. Some matches, he seemed unstoppable with the best Terran micro you have ever seen. Other times, he died to random pushes and made lots of wrong decisions. His multitasking and micro is superb, his macro is ok but not great and he had supply block problems today as well as scv producing trouble. His expansion timings aren't the best either. His TvP certainly does seem to rely on winning engagements handily. His TvZ seems a little gimicky. Haven't seen much of his TvT but I think it is his best matchup and from the little I've seen in GSTL, it looks beastly. Haven't seen his mech though.

We have yet to see super standard TvZ with Puma. Against Ret, he did 11/11 then reactor hellion - banshee. Against July, he did double reactor hellions, mass bfh and bunker rush. We still do not know how solid his openings truly are so we may see upset if Nerchio defends well. You know that the bracket draw was done at random? He had no way of knowing who he would face and which players would be at what side of the bracket. It's COMPLETELY random.

The bracket was an outcome of a random draw of 9 different bracket options that the rules allowed. a) Group winner has to meet group runner up in the 1/4 final. b) Players from the same group cannot meet until the final. I doubt that the defeat was planned (especially that he had a 1 in 3 chance to meet MC in the first round).

I dunno. Korean Protosses are in a strange state currently. They seem to be into these heavy timing based plays and super aggression where as socke is more of a chillax let's see who can go on every front in late game type guy. That being said MC has sick multitasking so I hope he decides to go with his mechanics instead of his very odd korean metagame business

i suppose bo5 as last iem but it's not written in the thread =s also my predictions : select > mc (select so good TvP !!) mana > moonglade (mana on fire lately and he improve his PvZ, going 2-3 vs dima is an achievment in itself) nerchio > puma (nerchio is a beast) kas = socke, most interesting match, really can't decide who i consider my favourite
