Why invite Boxer? Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing Boxer at MLG and NASL but it just seems like you guys are following everyone else's model and not looking at things practically.
Boxer's invite made sense to MLG at the time because he was just knocked out of Code A and he was fighting for a Code S spot. Why would a tournament with a $100,000 prize pool invite a Code B player now? On top of that the #4 player in GSL points gets told to play in your qualifiers?
I just think it's shortsighted. You could invite a player who NASL, Dreamhack, IEM, and MLG (your competitors) have all tried to get (MarineKing) but couldn't and is a top 4 player in the world but choose not to. Even Polt would be a better choice.

Finally a tournament that distributes the prize pool accordingly. Will be a great event!

Hmm I might be blind. I checked their site, and probably a different thread and didn't see it there, so then I just skimmed this one... but either way thanks for pointing it out calmly despite the fact that it was so obvious. So glad to see WhiteRa and Boxer in there! All the other invites are great as well! I am really looking forward to this event.

I think IEM is the second tournament that MKP has withdrawn from. That's not a good precedent to set. Plus, as good as MKP is, I'm sure you understand that BoxeR will draw in far more people due to his prolific history with eSports.

I recognize your points but you can't underestimate MKP's fanclub. And as popular as Boxer is the major success for NASL was Puma and MC. People barely remember Boxer competed. It's not really debatable that he's an attraction first and a competitor second but MKP is both.
But we can all disagree. The only group that's actually getting slighted in all this is China. I know tons of Chinese in New York would love to rock out in AC for Lovecd or Xigua and they're actually deserving.

If they're actually deserving then they can sign up for $20 and win the spots themselves.
I haven't seen any impressive play out of China since XiaOt sort-of retired.

What the hell? Discussing invite criteria and qualifier ability are two separate issues. You can be deserving of an invite and still probably not win one through a qualifier (White-Ra, Ret, etc.)

The problem with Chinese players is that they're so closed off from the rest of the sc2 scene. They don't play in Korea, they don't go to foreigner events. Only a couple of their tournaments have been casted in English, so it's hard to judge how good they really are.

They need achievements first before they can be invited.

Great news on Boxer!
After his stellar performance at MLG Anaheim I am excited to see him back in the states.
Hoping for Nani and Mana as the last 2 invites
|
whoa, asked for special taktics and Boxer as invites and got them!
also, any chance this could be a double elimination tourney? Single elimination is a bit anti-climatic in sc2 for some reason, always good to see someone redeems himself out of the LB to challenge for the title.

The invites are quite low on Protoss (only PapaToss), so an MC invite wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Wheeee BoxeR!! I love that guy so much!

It's in the OP.
What about the top 16 from IPL 2? A: The top 16 from IPL 2 are pre-qualified for our next online event, not IPL 3! We hope to have a good mixture of both online and offline events, but we do consider them to be separate types of events.

Mc and nestea haveeee to be the last two invites. I can't see them inviting two korean terrans.
