He is all alone "up there" might need idra to come back :D Nani is way better than IdrA, so IdrA wouldn't be able to win anything in Korea now. Idra is the only foreigner with results in the GSL. Jinro has come closest with a Ro4 showing in the GSL, but idra had consistency crazy foo Are you seriously retarded? IdrAs GSL results: Top 32 Top 16 Top 8 Leaves Korea My GSL results: Top 4 Top 4 Top 16 Top 32 Code A Code A Code B I dunno how the hell you can say IdrAs results in GSL are anywhere close to mine, especially when I beat him in GSL 4-1 --; IdrAs is most definitely better than me now but his GSL results are not, no fucking way. He qualified for the first seasons though Shouldnt the IdrA hype be over soon? the only thing he's done well in since god knows when is the IPL, and we all know that the quality of players in there is not anywhere near most other big tournaments. IdrA doesnt deserve too much hype, but he doesnt deserve too much hate either - he has had very solid showings at the MLGs even though he didnt win... He just has those stupid games where he kills himself or "very solid" might have been "very impressive". I'll put it like this; in my opinion you should get recognized because you are super good, like Beckham, Zlatan, Yourself or Sen. Not because you're rude to people. I simply don't understand why he's so popular, when he does not have particularly good results along with a "bad" attitude. No offense to Jinro but would you seriously call Jinro better than IdrA? I mean they're different races but ATLEAST in the current state I can't see you ranking Jinro above IdrA? And no, I don't hate Jinro, in fact I love him ...
there was a period where jinro beat idra couple times in a row, convincingly. but back then he was monster in gsl, reaching two semifinals and going down in to the history as most successful foreigner to compete in gsl...
however, he's been slumping really hard lately, and it shows.
that doesnt change the fact idra's been extraordinarily unimpressive ever since he left korea, so the comparison is really unnecessary
these results today for me, are beyond depressive.

LOL I just finished watching it. I feel bad for the Koreans who have to qualify and fail, then they see the invites get crushed.
|
Everyone is being to hard on them in my opinion. There were plenty of valid excuses as to why they didn't perform and for people to say that Koreans are miles ahead and there is no hope of catching up is just not correct. Perfect example of this is FXO. All that is required to beat Koreans is to practice with them and learn their meta game.

Doesn't "congratulations Naniwa, for your 8th place finish you get into code A", and then you see people like Puma, Boxer, Hack, Sage, Seal, and 20 other more deserving Koreans stuck in code B.
Because in MLG, the koreans do so well, you don't actually have to do well in the tournament to get the code A spot. I think that either the code A spot is capped at the top 8, or, let Koreans coming through the open bracket get the spot. It is too unfair on the Koreans for mediocre foreign players to get a free ride into Code A by doing mediocre in a tournament. That's kind of the whole idea. The koreans want more foreigners in the GSL because it attracts more foreign fans. If they didn't try to attract foreigners then they could as well change that G into a K in GSL.

I missed the matches so I had to go through the spoilers in the OP for results. This was pretty much how my reactions went:
Jinro vs a Zerg, I'm sure he won. + Show Spoiler +
Thorzain is a boss, I'll be he won. + Show Spoiler +
Sase? + Show Spoiler +
Ok Nani, I KNOW you won, lets click the spoiler and confirm this. + Show Spoiler +WHAT THE FUCK?! Sad day for foreigners.

It is not at all optimal to go to Korea like two days before playing in the tournament, you would benefit hugely from going at least two weeks beforehand.
I have big hopes for Naniwa and Thorzain on their next attempt!

*Rant about how they all got put against zergs which are known to be superior in the current state*

Quite sad that they didnt fly there earlier and prepare better..

Yeah cause the Korean Zergs are absolutely dominating all of Code A and S against the Terrans ...
Even Nestea is dropping games up there and the other zergs are getting crushed. Let's face it, if Thorzain and Jinro could play like the top Korean Terrans they wouldn't be losing to these Zergs. Even PvZ in Korea is a pretty even matchup, it's really just PvT that's silly right now (and maybe ZvT).
Maybe after some practice in Korea we will see the top foreigners progress like Huk did and compete but right now those who don't train in Korea are just a league under regardless of the race they play.

But overall the few zergs are doing better then the tone of terrans. Oh well. I am not one to call imbalance, just unfair.
And I guess we'll wait like 6 months for them to sucseed like HuK, right?
I guess foreigners just aren't that good after all.

Yeah, you'd expect that, but Blizzard in all their wisdom scheduled that wonderful Bnet invitational to be a couple days before qualifiers, so they (or Nani and Thorzain at least) got screwed hard by circumstance.

So what you're saying is that if Jinro and Thorzain were WAY BETTER players than their opponents they would win?
Good job on that one.

"There are after all a few actually good terrans in Korea. But overall the few zergs are doing better then the tone of terrans."
After what i have seen recently by MMA and MVP, Bomber etc i got to disagree. These Terrans are taking it to another level of play imho. These players are taking 1 and 2 base Terran to the extreams with their micro and multitasking, and the next wave of players will not be far behind them.
MC and Nestea got crushed yesterday, like it wasn't even close. It looks to me like the other races need to more aggressive to throw of the Terran timings.
I never seen 1 zerg attack before 12 mins into the game, it looked like they were terrified to move out of their base for fear of being punished.
